SpamAssassin under CentOS-6.4
I wonder if anyone is actually running SpamAssassin
with Postfix/Amavisd-new under CentOS-6.4 .
I have followed the instructions in
<http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Amavisd>
but as far as I can see SpamAssassin is not working.
I should say that I do not understand from this document
what is meant to happen to spam.
I understand that a Spam header is added,
but what actually happens to email

amavisd-new, spamassassin and clamav
Hi List,
I've been working on documenting an amavisd-new, spamassassin and clamav
installation for postfix on CentOS5 with regards to writing this up for
the Wiki (with invaluable help from forum member WhatsHisName - thanks!).
I hope to make a start on a Wiki page in the next week or so, so if
anyone has any experience with this combo and would like to offer
advice, tips and

heads up - on latest rpmforge perl-NetAddr-IP update and spamassassin 3.3.1 conflict on Centos4
heads up and fyi folks...
CentOS 4 latest...
SpamAssassin version 3.3.1
running on Perl version 5.8.8
:-)
i noticed on a centos 4 box after doing a manual yum update and getting 2
updated perl packages from rpmforge
again, just a heads up as rpmforge has been rock solid for us for years so
we are no bashing
spamassassin would not restart after the updates....

spamassassin with postfix/dovecot
I'm trying to install spamassassin on a postfix/dovecot server,
running CentOS-6.4, following the instructions at
<http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Amavisd>.
I think I have taken all the steps indicated,
and the configuration seems to pass the tests suggested,
although the response is much more sparse than that described:

mail server best practices question
Hello all,
About a year ago I set up a mail server on CentOS using this howto:
http://wanderingbarque.com/howtos/mailserver/mailserver.html
I managed to add amavisd-new with clamav and spamassassin.
It runs very well, but it runs on CentOS 5.2, and if I try to upgrade,
amavisd-new and clamav break.
we are now also at the point where a backup mx will need to be implemented.
If necessary I am

Thanks,

Remove all packages from specific repository
Hi CentOS Mailinglist,
we are using amavisd-new (with all dependencies) from Fedora/Redhat EPEL repo. Some packages from EPEL repo are very old. (amavisd-new, clamav, spamassassin)
What's the best way to remove all amavisd-new packages (and it's dependencies) from EPEL repo and reinstall it from rpmforge repo?
Thank you.
Best regards,
Morten

CentOS 6, Postfix Dovecot
I only have one Postfix server running at the moment and have some
questions. On that install, I did Amavisd-new with ClamAV, SpamAssassin,
Postfix and Dovecot.
I know this is a bit off topic, but I'm really hoping for performance
guidance.
Is the added layer of complexity running Amavis worth the effort on a
system with moderate mail flow? Or should I just go down the path of
getting

spamassassin, postfix with dovecot lda?
Hi all,
I am trying to setup a mail server using postfix (virtual_mailboxes),
spamassassin and dovecot, along with SQL where appropriate. From my
research so far I realized that, for several reasons, it is required for
me to use dovecot LDA instead of maildrop, local, procmail or other
alternatives.
My configuration was working flawlessly, until spamassassin per-user
configuration came to

More on amavis/clam permission errors on Centos 6.3
I should probably find either the amavis or clam list(s) and take this
there?
Anyway, I have totally rebuilt my machine with clean installs. I have
spent time carefully (I hope!) studying the amavis and clamav conf files
before starting them and running the tests. Here is what I am getting:
Jan 30 14:14:10 test1 postfix/pickup[6682]: DA8082A099B: uid=0 from=<root>

How to add ClamAV to Postfix?
I sent this email to the Rehdat list, but I thought the Centos users
might be more inclined to have the command-line solution I am looking
for, so I thought I would post it here too:
I would like to add anti-virus to my email server. Currently I have
Postfix, Dovecot, PHP, and Squirrelmail installed. The users only use
Squirrelmail to access mail. I am looking for command-line
instructions,

CentOS-7 amavisd
Is anyone running amavisd and clamd under CentOS-7?
Amavisd-new seems difficult to install,
and clamd is difficult to find.
(I've only added the epel repository,
as I had a conflict when I added rpmforge as well.)
I take it amavis is still the recommended way to run postfix?

Amavisd and ClamAV
Hi,
I want to move my mail server from sendmail to postfix over christmas. I've
got a test server running with the following:
postfix dovecot postgrey amavisd-new clamav spamassassin
I've followed the howto's on the wiki <http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos> with the
exception that I installed amavisd-new and clamav from the EPEL repo rather
than rpmforge.
Things work OK with
