So I took the anaconda cfg, commented out the partition/disk pieces and ran it off my repo server and it almost worked. Little things like not including things I had done on network setup. I just had to change the install command to use ftp. I had to uncomment all of the drive partitioning commands. At first I was confused as to the partitioning failure, then figured out that the partitioning commands were commented out. Most likely to prevent an unwanted disk clearing. Along the line of learning the 'best' options to use for OpenSSL and dealing with the default SSL virtual host for Apache, I discovered that the localhost cert created (I believe) during firstboot has the X509v3 extensions set as a CA cert (eg basicConstraint CA:TRUE).

So I had the following lines in my ks.cfg intall url ftp://10.1.1.1// (yes the ftp server's directory is the Centos directory) This is along with all the appropriate network command to get the ethernet setup. I notice that the certificate /etc/pki/tls/certs/ca-bundle.crt on my CentOS-5.5 system expired on 7 Jan 2010, although the openssl-0.9.8e-12.el5_4.6 package was updated in March. In the packages section of my kickstart I have: -avahi and I am still getting avahi and all of its rpms installed. I don't want avahi on my servers, how do I specify in a kickstart to NOT install it?

I have Dovecot setup with Postfix and can't seem to connect to to the SMTP server (port 25) unless I'm on the server itself (telnet localhost 25). For example, I cannot use my mail client, Thunderbird, to send mail from my laptop -- it cannot even connect to the server. I checked the logs and nothing shows up for the attempted connection.
