Sendmail + dovecot-lda + LDAP
Hi, I experince some problems with setting up Sendmail with the LDAP database for virtual mail accounts. Why i'm not writing to the LDAP mailing list? I believe, that the reason of my problem is in configuring dovecot-deliver. What i have: ?- FreeBSD ?- sendmail (Version 8.14.4 with LDAP support installed from ports)? ?- Dovecot LDA + dovecot (as pop3/imap) ?- Cyrus Sasl (authdaemon for

How to configure sendmail using dovecot lmtp
Hi, I can't seems to find any posting on how to configure sendmail to use dovecot as lmtp. All I see is using it as LDA. I am particularly interested on how to tell sendmail to ask dovecot to deliver the message to the user. In the wiki for lda it says to add the following in the sendmail config: FEATURE(`local_procmail',

Sendmail and Dovecot deliver (dovecot-lda)
Hi, I have a Centos 5 system with sendmail running as my MTA. Normally I note from sendmail logs that mails get delivered using the 'local' mailer. I have therefore entered the following into my sendmail.mc file, from an earlier post on this list: define(`LOCAL_MAILER_PATH',`/usr/libexec/dovecot/deliver') define(`LOCAL_MAILER_FLAGS',`DFMPhfnu9')

Using Dovecot LDA with Sendmail
Hi all, After looking at the LDA/Sendmail page in the dovecot wiki, I wanted to contribute another method to easily configure Sendmail to use deliver. Instead of adding a new mailer definition, as already suggested, one can simply use the following line in their sendmail.mc file instead: FEATURE(`local_procmail', `/usr/libexec/dovecot/deliver', `deliver -d $u',

dovecot + sendmail, what LDA setup?
I have an existing setup with sendmail, dovecot, on debian. I want to move LDA and move from using mbox to using Maildir. I have only 'real' users and aliases, no virtual users. What is a recommended, trouble free, LDA setup? procmail is of course on possibility, but I'd be unlikely ever to use any of its advanced features, just simple local mail delivery. I'd like to use

Userdb userdb_mail=, error Mailbox list driver maildir++: maildir_name not supported by this driver
With this setting, all folders are empty, I guess understandable, because the mdbox has its own indexes stored locally with it. Does not explain though why inbox is empty. [@ dovecot]# cat special-userdb test:x:8267:231:Account with special settings for dovecot:/home/popusers/test:/bin/false:userdb_mail=mdbox:~/mdbox:INBOX=/ var/spool/mail/%u:INDEX=/var/dovecot/%u/index With this setting

Sendmail + Deliver as an LDA probs
Hi, I'm having trouble setting up sendmail to be able to use dovecot deliver as an LDA... I don't want to be able to deliver mail locally, everything should go via deliver (virtual user setup)... And i'm confused about all the procmail/lda entry's in different sendmail config files... When using $# deliver -u testuser < testmail <-- he delivers my mail in the correct

dovecot lda with sendmail
I'm trying to set up dovecot's deliver program as the lda for sendmail. I seem to need a config file for it '/etc/dovecot-deliver.conf'. Is there any documentation for this configuration file and it's contents? sendmail will call it under the recipient's uid, and all it has to do is drop the message into the proper maildir as defined in /etc/dovecot.conf and update

some mdbox mails get lost each day
Hi, I have a strange problem here. I had installed Dovecot-2.1.6 on a customers setup. They have 102 mail accounts on the server. The started using this dovecot version on the 20th June. One mailbox suddenly started expunging mails. Not from the current day, but one week back in the past. First I thought about an Outlook issue. Some filter or archieving thing, but we did a test and on one day,

Userdb userdb_mail=, error Mailbox list driver maildir++: maildir_name not supported by this driver
I have this default configuration [0], when use the userdb_mail to point to the mdbox location, the inbox subfolders show differently in a firebird client. So I decided to copy the whole default mail_location into the userdb_mail configuration [2]. But then I get errors [3]. Should I change the namespace configuration here, how? My default namespaces are inbox and 4archives [0] [@ ]#

Some questions about mdbox
Hello I am starting testing with dovecot 2.0.9. In my //etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf/ I have the following line: /mail_location = mdbox:/mydomain.org/%2.26Hn/%2.200Hn/%n:INDEX=/mydomain.org/indexes/%2.26Hn/%2.200Hn/%n/ These are my questions (a long mail): *1? How should I restore from backup with mdbox & separate indexes?* I have read in dovecot list archive about restoring the full

How do I do this with mdbox?
In my life with Maildir, mails were stored as single files, each mail per file. It was pretty easy to resend an e-mail from a Maildir folder to another address, by causing the mail to be re-injected into my MTA (Exim) queue for processing: I'd use a very simple shell script to achieve the above: #!/bin/sh email=$(find $*) { for x in ${email}; do sendmail president at egypt.gov <

On RHEL5, dovecot 1.0.7, I have set up sendmail to use `deliver` for my local mda. Sendmail and Dovecot Delivery to Virtual Users
I'm new to dovecot and sendmail and my server doesn't forward mails to 'dovecot deliver' at all. I was reading http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Sendmail and this http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2009-June/040353.html from the mailling list but I could figure it out myself. I someone could point me into the right direction. I'm confused with the config for LDA. Basically what I
