grImport symbols
Dear list, I have two questions regarding grid.symbols() in the grImport package. This package allows you to import a vector graphic in R, and grid.symbols() can be used to plot the resulting glyph at arbitrary locations in a grid viewport. I have tried the code in the grImport vignette, which is most interesting, however I am stuck with two problems: 1- Is there a possibility to create a

grImport/ghostscript problems
Hi All: I've been struggling for a while trying to get grImport up and running. I'm on a Windows 7 (home premium 64 bit) machine running R-2.12.2 along with GPL Ghostscript 9.01. I've set my Windows PATH variable to point to the Ghostscript \bin and \lib directories, and I've created the R_GSCMD environment variable pointing to gswin32c.exe. I don't have any experience with

mac ghostscript help
Hello R community, I am hoping to use a new package that I just installed called "grImport" to import ps images into R for further manipulation using either base graphics or grid. I downloaded the most recent version of Ghostscript from http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/ that I could find (v.8.56) for Mac OSX. However, I am apparently quite ignorant about how the required

Error using PostScriptTrace()
I couldn't run PostScriptTrace() from the package "grImport" without an error. At first the postscript program couldn't be found. however the problem persisted after the full path the postscript program was indicated. I read earlier post on the subject in vain. See the codes and output below. The file "Senegal_location_map.ps" was originally a "svg" file from:

From my study, i found that volcano plot can help a lot in my section.  i already studied about the volcano plot and get the coding to run in R software, unfortunately, there is may be something wrong with the coding. This is because  no graph appear, but no error (blue color text) was shown on the R console. Below is the coding for

Positioning plots on top of each other (aligment & borders)
Hello, I want to place two plots on top of each other. However, the problem is that I can't figure out a simple way to align them correctly. Is there a way to specify this? Since the data is bunch of coordinates and the second layer is an outline of a map (a .ps file I import using the grImport package), I suppose one option would be to specify a set of "artificial" coordinates that

[PATCH] nv50, nvc0: adjust blit_3d handling of ms output textures
This fixes some unwanted scaling when the output is multisampled. Also increases nvc0 maximum supported texture size to be able to work with a 32k texture. Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu> Cc: "10.0 10.1" <mesa-stable at lists.freedesktop.org> --- Ran the EXT_framebuffer_multisample tests, they improve a lot. The remaining failures are probably due to

Attachment_fu - watermark tmp file before saved to S3
Hi there, I''d like to use RMagick to watermark an image in the tmp directory before Attachment_fu saves it to Amazon S3. I took a look at the callbacks available in attachment_fu. There''s an ''after_attachment_saved'' method but this would be too late, and a ''before_thumbnail_saved'' but this is no good because it''s for thumbnails. I

RFC: Loadable segments watermark for lld
Hello all, I'm implementing a watermarking feature for lld that computes a hash of loadable segments and places the result in a note section. Ongoing work can be found here: https://reviews.llvm.org/D70316 https://reviews.llvm.org/D66426 The purpose of this watermark is to enable detection of post-link modifications to the loadable segments of the binary. Such modifications may produce a

RFC: Loadable segments watermark for lld
The ELF file header isn't always covered by a segment but still affects loading. I think everything else that effects loading/dynamic linking is always covered by a PT_LOAD segment. As evidence this is basically what --strip-sections in llvm-strip and eu-strip do and they produce perfectly runnable binaries. Having a hash of the actual memory map is interesting IMO. Build IDs can't really

Print Options & CUPS - Can't stop watermarking?
Greetings, I have just set up samba printing with CUPS as the back end. (Samba 2.2.8a, CUPS 1.1.9) Everything works great, including automatic driver download/Point -n- Print. The problem is that whenever I print through Samba from a Windows 2000 Workstation, a watermark gets added to the print job. The default driver options are set on the server, so that watermarking is "off",

fill map with gradient: package?
Hi, I'd like to fill an existing svg (or png) map with gradient colors. In detail: The file http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Karte_%C3%96sterreich_Bundesl%C3%A4nder.svg should be filled with the population density data from this table: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%96sterreich#Verwaltungsgliederung choosing the right color saturation (or whatever). interior and exterior colors of a map
Hi useR's, I have an image plot I want to overlay a map of the United States on, via map('usa'). The image is basically a large rectangular of various colors. When I overlay the United States map, the full rectangle of the image plot is visible, but I only want to display the image WITHIN the United States boundary. Does anyone know a way to do this? Thanks in advance, dxc13 --

File_column, RMagick, and watermarking
I''m working on a photo gallery and I''m using File_column to handle the uploads of the files and create my thumbnails, but does anyone here have any idea how to have a watermark (opaque text maybe) placed over one of the versions? Any ideas on how to go about this would be great. Even if it''s just straight RMagick code, that would be fine too. Thanks in advance for the
