dovecot sieve notify example?
Dear list,
I was trying to use the "notify" action with dovecot sieve
but I just couldn't get it work. The relevant lines look as follows:
,--------
|require ["fileinto", "notyfy"];
| if header :contains ["to", "cc"] ["userA at example.com", "userB at example.com"] {

utility to update indexes ?
We have both dovecot and a webmail application that are both modifying
our users maildirs, so dovecot indexes can be out of sync when the
webmail has been messing with the maildirs. We also have a webservice
that report how many unread messages a user has in his inbox, which is
simply counting files in the maildirs (plus caching the result, and
present old values if the directory timestamps hasn?t

Ldapsearch against Samba AD returns records outside the search base
Hello,
Is it not Samba that is listening to the LDAP ports and is serving me
the answer to my query? This problem does not only happen when the LDAP
database is searched using ldapsearch, it happens also using other tools
that connect to the LDAP ports. I still don't fully grasp what this has
to do with the uniqueness of the sAMAccountNames - they are unique
throughout my directory and I

emails getting mangled when dragging from Exchange account to IMAP shared folders
I'm having the most frustrating issue, and I'm at a loss for what is
happening. I'm not even sure it is with Dovecot, but that's why I'm posting
this here... if it isn't a dovecot issue, maybe someone can get me headed in
the right direction? I've posted relevant dovecot and config info at the
bottom of this post.
Here's the scenario:
We recently migrated our

unknown users
Hi,
can anyone tell me where these "unknown users" come from.
As far as I see the fact, dovecot is asked by postfix to look for the
password of the recipient-user (why ever).

SASL auth and proxy
Hello, I'm finding a way to have a pool of smtp-auth servers in front
of my actuals servers to permit relay to our customers. Now users sends
emails connecting to the right IP via mail.domain.tld, with
authentication. Every server has it's own user database in mysql.
I'd like to have a pool of server (with round robin, ideally with
postfix + sasl + dovecot) that authenticate the

doveadm quota does not list all accounts
Hello,
I am running dovecot-2.0.13-1_128.el5 x86_64 RPM on CentOS 5.7.
All accounts are virtual, hosted on LDAP Server.
My problem is that the command:
doveadm quota get -A
stopped listing all accounts. I think this problem started after I
changed in LDAP lookup configuration from "scope = subtree" to "scope =
onelevel", because it did not occur before (I did no

distance_of_time_in_words and Time classes
There is <%= distance_of_time_in_words(Time.now, @a_time) %> before
xzy.<BR />
<!-- ^ this gives 2279 days -->
This does not work because when @a_time is stored, even though it is a
Time field and the class is Time, it includes a date. The Date isn''t
even that days date its the year 2000, hence the 2279 days ago.
So how do I set the date part of @a_time (a Time

methods vs. functions
Dear List,
a second, more general, question concerning S4 classes.
I have a bunch of functions/methods for my class.
At the moment I have them as methods, because they work on objects of my S4
class and therefore "belong" to that class.
On the other hand, it is comparably unlikely that someone else wants the same
kind of method.
And package.skeleton () produces the

Ldapsearch against Samba AD returns records outside the search base
Hello,
Ldbsearch returns the correct result. However this particular query is
performed by an external system (that does not have access to the LDB
files), to check whether a certain user belongs to a specific OU or not.
The query is performed over LDAP against Samba, so it is not a
ldapsearch-only problem. I only used ldapsearch to verify the behavior.
Regardless of if the query is wrong or

mixture of virtual and plain users
Hi,
I have a mail server (postfix/dovecot) running so far with normal
local /etc/passwd users for domain example.com.
mail_location = maildir:~/Maildir
passdb pam {
}
userdb passwd {
}
Is it possible to add virtual domains/users to my setup
without changing example.com to a virtual domain?
I can do the postfix part with
