MS Remote Desktop issue related to Samba 4 ?
Hi all,
I am currently struggling with an odd MS Remote Desktop issue which
might be related to our Samba4 AD (version: 4.2.0pre1-GIT-d7c22d5
domain/forest-level 2008_R2) setup.
We are unable to connect to Win7 machines (all available latest patches
installed) via RDP after they have been joined to the domain. We have
made sure, that RDP is enabled and the firewall exceptions are in place.

Samba4 DNS: "recursion requested but not available"
Hello all,
This is with Samba 4.0.0rc6 with the built-in DNS server. Found the
problem in Samba 4.0.0rc5 originally, then updated to see if bug had
been fixed between rc5 and rc6.
I am trying to get mail working for a subdomain that is being managed by
Samba 4. I added an MX record, but the problem here is that the Samba 4
DNS server isn't replying with the record:

Trouble with file shares on Samba 4
Hello all,
I have a Samba 4 system setup with 4.0.0-rc5 working as an Active
Directory controller for a set of seven Win7 computers, and most things
are working. However, file shares are not.
In all cases, if I add users to Domain Admins, they can access the
shares. In all cases, if users are not in Domain Admins, they cannot
access the shares.
I've added users to groups that

can't access remote Windows 2008 desktop via Krdc / Remote Desktop
Hi all,
Does anyone know why CentOS 5.+3 + latest KDE won't connect to a
Windows 2008 server via Remote Desktop, yet it will work on a Windows
2003 server?
I can easily connect to a Windows 2003 server, using rdp:/196.34.x.x
and login and use the Windows 2003 server.
But when I try the same with a Widows 2008 server, it just fails. I
see if connecting, and then it "dies" without

Remote Desktop Users Group not working??
Hi
My next try is to create the group myself, but the point here was that the Builtin group created by the provisioning of Samba, doesn't work...

User can only login as admin, group policy fails the logon otherwise
I have a Samba 3.5 server that services seven Windows 7 computers. When
the setup was originally installed, all workstations were independent
systems and so all users had local administrative privilege. I have
removed admin rights from all users but one. This user has a problem.
We'll call the user 'dmc' though that isn't his real username.
In any event, dmc is a member of the

After the classicupgrade from samba3 to sernet-samba-4.2.1 , users are not able to remote desktop anymore
Good Day All
I have a current working configuration of sernet-samba-4.2.1, created by
upgrading from a samba3 PDC using the classic upgrade.
Now, I have added a windows 2008 machine to the domain and I'm using the AD
snap in tools in order to browse the domain.
I can see all the users and groups and they have been imported correctly.
However I am able to remote desktop to the domain

Thanks Luis
I've changed the smb.conf as you said, now it looks like this:
root at ccdc-samba4:~# cat /etc/samba/smb.conf
# Global parameters
[global]
workgroup = CCDC
realm = CCDC.LAN
netbios name = CCDC-SAMBA4
server role = active directory domain controller
idmap_ldb:use rfc2307 = yes
dns forwarder = 9.0.138.50

Use samba-tool testparm -v first before adding them to the smb.conf
I say this because I could not "join" Windows clients to Samba with

Remote Desktop Users Group not working??

You must have mist something..
I did it as followed in the GPO settings.
I created a "DOMAIN\Allow-RDP" group in the AD. Added users to this group.
In the GPO, i used "default computer"
Policies - Windows settings - security settings - Restricted groups.
Here add your DOMAIN\Allow-RDP to the Remote Desktop Users.
And

Remote Desktop Users Group not working??
Hi,
If I'm not mistaken, the Remote Desktop Users is a local group. Si as
Said Louis, you'll have to create a domain group that will be added to
the local group on each machin through GPO

try adding :
auth methods = sam, winbind
