Chain-loading from WDS to PXELinux on a different tftp server
Thanks for your email. Yes it does provide some insight into why I could hack a Linux DHCP server into providing enough PXE boot information for PXE 3 clients but PXE 2.1 were happy (ROMs under many circumstances need to use proxy dhcp 4011 - as documented by IBM on the link I shared earlier).
It appears only the most latest Dell business systems have EFI 64 support, and the best you can expect

how to pick cipher for AES-NI enabled AMD GX-412TC SOC tincd at 100% CPU
Hello everybody,
First a big thanks for tinc-vpn I am still using it next to wireguard
and openvpn.
I am having a setup where the tinc debian appliance is at 100% cpu load
doing about 7.5MB/s.
Compression = 9
PMTU = 1400
PMTUDiscovery = yes
Cipher = aes-128-cbc
How can I pick a cipher that is the fasted for my CPU and don't create a
CPU bottleneck at 100%.
Kind regards,

error with make clean in /usr/src
Hello,
I am getting errors when doing a make clean under /usr/src, I have always
done this before doing a make world, and never a problem. I have tried
deleting all of /usr/src and re cvsuped, but the problem persists.

Building openssh-3.5p1 with new DES functions
Hi,
I've seen that openssh will have different function names for des, I
think thats great. As kerberos4 nor kerbero5 from KTH in Sweden support
those new calls yet, I thought it would be best for me to switch back to
the old behaviour, i.e. have kerberized libkrb and other libs with
disabled support for openssl (which means libdes is compiled).
Then, compile openssh-3.5p1 with kerberos4

Strange problem with "make clean"
Hello,
I'm experiencing a weird problem doing "make clean" in "/usr/src".
It happens on a couple of FreeBSD 4.8-RELEASE machines (RELENG_4_8 to
be precise).
Cvsup, build & install phases all went fine, just "make clean" went
wrong.
I tried rm-ing the incriminated subdirectory and even rm-ing the
checkout.cvs:RELENG_4_8 file and re-cvsupping but nothing

Wanted: smartcard with ECDSA support
Hi list,
I have no idea if Damien Miller had the time to work on that.
I have an initial patch to authenticate using PKCS#11 and ECDSA keys.
This requires OpenSSL 1.0.2, prior OpenSSL versions do not expose the
required interfaces to override the signature function pointer for ECDSA.
The only limitation is that the OpenSSL API misses some cleanup function
(finish, for instance), hence I have yet

R 1.9.1 package installation problems
Hello,
I am writing as an administrator, not as an R user, so forgive me if I
am not completely knowledgeable about R.
I have a user who is creating an R package for windows from a Linux
environment using the crossbuild environment by Jun Yan and A.J.
Rossini. The packages she generated worked fine until she tried to
install in R 1.9.1 for Windows. Now when she installs with

I'm trying to generate the correct response to a websocket connect.

samba 3b3 irritation
hi just a quickie
I've just setup a share in samba 3b3 and discovered it wont allow my
share names to be longer than 8 characters (how annoying!)
I don't have any ms machines below win 2k and as such I don't care how
long my names are infact having a name like eposd1_logs is far more
useful than epslt1 or something equally non descriptive. How do I stop
sam3 from doing this? (there

SPA-3000 generating one-ring calls
This is a wierd one. Can't figure it out. I have an SPA-3000 at the
house handling my incoming line. It's setup to direct the incoming call
to asterisk. Works great 99% of the time.
A few times a day, I'm getting calls that ring once internally and are
then hungup. I managed to get a detailed log [1] of what's happening
today and it looks to me that the SPA is acting wierd.

Help me to understand BDC
hi
short question ->
if i set up samba 3.0 as BDC with an NT pdc and a client wants to login
to the domain, but his account is only stored (for tests) on the BDC:
should he be able to authenticate successfully?
or can he just login, if the *PDC* responds positive?
thx in advance

some irritation with heteroskedasticity testing
Dear all,
Trying to test for heteroskedasticity I tried several test from the
car package respectively lmtest. Now that they produce rather
different results i am somewhat clueless how to deal with it.
Here is what I did:
1. I plotted fitted.values vs residuals and somewhat intuitively
believe, it isn't really increasing...
2. further I ran the following tests

It seems you were correct. After updating my kernel (!), the CPU load
figures given by 'top' and 'ps' for streamTranscoder suddenly rose from
0.0-0.3% to about 30-60%. There are occasional peaks above that, which
might very well be causing the problem. And the system load now shows
