How to send in donations via check? and some other suggestions.
Greetings. I have just successfully updated a RH-9 file server to CentOS-3.1. I'm VERY impressed. I have a client who has 4 Redhat servers (1 x 7.3 and 3 x 9.0) that I would like to migrate to CentOS-3.1. Question: My client is willing to send a donation for these boxes but they just want to send you (caosity.org) a check that will cover the next couple of years. Who do we make the

"Planet Xiph" feed collector website?
Hello! I stumbled upon the blog of Xiph member Arek Korbik [1] a few minutes ago and the "planet idea" came to my mind again. What I mean is a website collection posts from a number of blogs as Planet KDE [2] is doing for example. Is there such a thing for Xiph? Is there interest in having such a thing? If so would there be a chance to cover the domain costs from past/future

Ferret is now accepting donations
Hey folks, Since this is the Ferret mailing list I should preface this by that the donation of time and help by people like Jens Kraemer, Jan Prill and all the other people who have contributed to Ferret is just as valuable to me as any financial assistance. Thanks. Ferret has been a labour of love but it has taken up a lot more of my life than I ever expected. At in excess of 50,000 lines of

how do I donate resources to xiph.org?
I sent the first version of this email to webmaster@xiph.org yesterday (as instructed on the www.xiph.org web site), but I have not received any reply. So I'm trying vorbis-dev list. I've joined the list only a few weeks ago as soon as I became aware of the project. I searched through your web site, but I could not see any instruction on how to donate resources (money, hw, etc.) to the

Filesystem backup?
Hi all. I'm currently having a following problem: I have only ssh connection to a CentOS 5.2 system, there are two harddiscs on it. One stores the system (/ filesystem) and the other should be used to help restore the system in case of first disks' failure. I thought that maybe dump would be a good utility to make it. But in only works on read-only filesystems. In one article I've read

Donating
I've never really liked all these donation buttons in web pages, or receiving donations at all, but as some extra money could make my life easier in the next few months, I thought I'd give it a try. http://dovecot.org/donate.html (And if you're wondering how I could still promise those 1000 euros for a security hole, I've a credit card but I'd rather not use it :) Also

RHWAS rebuild efforts
There is a new Web Application Stack that I would like to get the RPMS for into CentOS Plus. I am trying to get the upstream provider to the provide these SRPMS to their public FTP server, but so far they are not there: https://www.redhat.com/archives/nahant-list/2006-October/msg00053.html These RPMS would be a major add to CentOSPlus .... as they would provide an enterprise web stack with

centos friends?
Hello All, I want to ask about CentOS and money. Please do not start some kind of shitstorm over this, it isn't productive. I have just been looking at archive.org to see when the paypal option went missing from the donate menu at centos.org. I can't pin it down, but it was there on October 16, 2010 and isn't now, so that's the information I have on that point. There was a

Issue with the "Xiph license"
Hello! There is a problem with the current name of the "Xiph license". All the variantions of this name out there imply at least one of these two false assumptions: * that the Xiph license would be a custom license not related to the BSD license at all * that the Xiph license would be based on BSD but is not the same Both is wrong and both hurts Xiph. The license text is

Donation programme
Is there any decision about the donation programme? The Web page still says: "If you are looking to make a cash dontation to the CentOS Project, please check back here after August 15th, 2009." I assume that donations aren't refused, but is there a suggested amount, as there used to be? -- Yves Bellefeuille <yan at storm.ca> "Yves Bellefeuille: Eterna malvenkanto en

Is Wine taking my donations and giving them to CrossOver?
Well I must say. I certainly feel like a fool now. I have been contributing to Wine for about five months, and was shocked to see a blatant advertisement for CrossOver, who take the hard work of those who have contributed their intellect for free and sell it for profit, on your home page. I then discovered through your own FAQ that most Wine developers are employed by CrossOver. Is this legal?

R Founding
A few days ago Tal Galili posted a message about some controversies concerning the future of R. Having read the discussions, especially those following Ross Ihaka's post, I have come to the conclusion, that, as usual, the problem is money. I doubt there would be discussions about dropping R in its present form if the R-Foundation were properly funded and could hire computer scientists,

Using CentOS on commercial product.
Hello, I've sent this mail when I didn't subscribe this mailing list. Now I subscribe and I sent again. I'm sorry to bother you. Our company make and sell some measurement system controlled by PC. We use Red Hat Enterprise Linux on the PC currently. We are thinking CentOS is another option for us. There is no technical issue but we don't have enough information about license.

Make a donation via PayPal? (was: [R] Monetary support to the R-project)
Dear R developers I understand that this is not a proper r-devel message, but it still touches to the organisation of the R project. I would like to make a small donation to the project, but I am not comfortable with sending my credit card details via post or mail and, as echoed elsewhere on r-help, would prefer to go through a generally accepted service such as PayPal. Would there be any
