Codec Parameter for Ogg media types
We interrupt your regularly scheduled program to bring you the following issue. RFC3534bis is on hold. I have addressed all feedback from Mr Westerlund, except for the following: From: Magnus Westerlund <magnus.westerlund[at]ericsson[dot]com> Date: Fri, 11 Apr 2008 13:55:28 +0200 Subject: Re: Updated 3534bis (was Re: Request for review of Ogg Media Types: video/ogg, audio/ogg,

[patch] enable annodex firefox plugin for application/ogg
Hi there ! This patch adds support for the registered mime type application/ogg to the annodex firefox plugin. Depending on your view of the issue, some more mime types should probably be handled by the annodex firefox plugin [1,2]. Have a nice day, erlehmann [1] http://wiki.xiph.org/index.php/MIME_Types_and_File_Extensions [2]

How Ogg mappings translate into the codecs parameter in Ogg media types
Hello list, We have recently introduced the codecs (optional) parameter on the Ogg media types for easier identification of encapsulated codecs in conditions were it's not feasable to examine the streams directly. I received a comment from the IESG that we should have some sort of list to describe how Ogg mapping strings translate to codec parameter strings, so I went ahead and compiled a

5.1 surround channel coupling
It obviously would be nice to have such a mode available, for e.g. DVD audio compression. Apparently, the list doesn''t tell me too much about it. My questions are: 1. What is the current status of the 5.1 channel coupling in Vorbis? 2. If I''ll be interested in participation in its development, what is the recommended reading? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

vorbis-tools 1.2.0 Release Candidate
I bumped the version number of vorbis-tools and am preparing it for an eventual release in a few days. A changelog of what's new may be found at [1]. Meanwhile, what's in SVN is a "Release Candidate" to find out if anything was broken since version 1.1.1. Report any (or lack of) problems you may find, so we'll be able to put out a new version of vorbis-tools. -Ivo [1]

How Ogg mappings translate into the codecs parameter in Ogg media types
I agree - we should use only hex or octal, but not mixed. Cheers, Silvia. FLAC: decoding to WAV in the future
What Brian Willoughby means is that even though the future is uncertain, you may trust FLAC. The format is mature enough so that you won't see major changes preventing playback of files encoded by older encoders, but even if that comes to happen, the playback libraries on most software will be backwards-compatible, and FLAC is lossless meaning that you may convert FLAC 1.1.4 to a possible

oggz-validate does not seem to check for correctly framed headers
While testing the new vcut, some of the early results had badly framed headers. I actually didn't notice it at first, because I was testing with oggz-validate, but ogginfo does identify the problem: "WARNING: Vorbis stream X does not have headers correctly framed. Terminal header page contains additional packets or has non-zero granulepos" Conrad (or someone else) may want to

I believe you can do this with Ogg FLAC. The Ogg container manages the multiple FLAC streams. Theoretically, we'll never see limit

Re: Online Monthly Meeting scheduled to 11th July 2007, 06:00 UTC; Confirmed
Guys and Silvia, do come please. If this meeting is a fiasco, there will be a lot of stuff to discuss on some other meeting in what...? November? Not good. If you cannot come in time (like Silvia and Sebastian) we will wait a bit, but do come. If you cannot come at all, state your opinions on the issues at hand through the mailing lists. Your opinion is important.
