How can I seek in Ogg Vorbis file, but not using Vorbisfile library?
Hello, All. I am making an Ogg Vorbis decoder based on Tremor. The Vorbisfile library provides a high-level API which enables us to seek in the file, but it needs to declare a pointer to OggVorbis_File structure. Because I am supposed not to use file, so I can't use the ov_pcm_seek() or ov_raw_seek() functions to seek in the file. For decoding an Ogg Vorbis file, I first put it in

ov_clear(&vorbis) segfaults?
Hello all. I'm new to this list. I'm also new to coding with libvorbis and things, so please bear with me. :) I've been having trouble with libvorbisfile. My use of it is fairly simple, but when I try to ov_clear the vorbis file, it segfaults. I can attach or otherwise make availible some demo source code, but for now I'll just pull out relevant lines: //BEGIN PSEUDO CODE

oggfile, skeleton and vorbis tools
(w. quotes from the xiphmeet: <http://westfish.xiph.org/~giles/200603_meeting.txt>, I've tried to strip it down to relevant stuff) <xiphmont> "Is there any interest in extending vcedit/libvorbisfile to do basic handling of Vorbis streams from concurrently multiplexed Ogg?" < xiphmont> Yes, but that work was *also* tied to OggFile from way back when, and one

[Vorbis-dev] Zero length reported.
Okay - so I stepped through the code slowly this morning making notes as I went. And I can see what’s wrong. The last Ogg header of the troublesome file contains -1 as the granule position. The spec says this has a special meaning "A special value of '-1' (in two's complement) indicates that no packets finish on this page." 4F 67 67 53 00 04 FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 16 A2

Library issues (BOUNCE vorbis-dev@xiph.org: Non-member submission from [rob@emusic.com]) (fwd)
BTW, I need a volunteer to upgrade xiph.org to MailMan or the like. I'm officially sick to death of majordomo. (Or, if you want to code all the features I want in majordomo, that's fine too ;-) I'm a little bit out of time, see.... ------- Forwarded Message Sender: robert@emusic.com I just brought the FreeAmp codebase up to speed with the latest Vorbis source. non-threaded Ogg/Vorbis/Theora player implementation (java)
I develop j2me applications for mobile phones and for fun I tried to port Cortados java player to j2me. Took the source code changed a couple of lines to make it a MIDLET and sudenly, without even thinking it would work, I ended with a pure j2me theora player for my mobile phone. Of course is for very small clips (128x96 @ 10.000 fps ) and no audio. So now I want to implement a full j2me

Finding length (time) of encoded birstream
I'm adding some final features to my CD Ripper and Encoder before the full, version 1 release. As part of that release, the program will offer the ability to play (for review purposes) both WAV and OGG files. I have both the decoder and playback code working but I have one final issue to resolve: finding the play time for the Vorbis bitstream that is being played back. I used the

OGG Vorbis I
Hi,all I don't quite understand why vorbis I spec dictates that "Ogg stream must be unmultiplexed". Ogg can include both audio and video, that means one Ogg stream can both have vorbis and theora multiplexed. How vorbis I spec say could not allowed? Thanks! ANN: python-markdown2 -- another Python implementation of Markdown
Hello all, I'm announcing python-markdown2 -- another Python implementation of Markdown. (MIT license.) http://code.google.com/p/python-markdown2/ It should be a drop-in replacement for [markdown.py](http://www.freewisdom.org/projects/python-markdown/). It fixes some issues that I ran into with markdown.py [^1]. I believe that it is faster than markdown.py [^2] and on par or a little

Hello - I have two files which play back in VLC correctly. Ogg Vorbis SDK.
Hi, I've started making an Ogg Vorbis SDK, as per IRC topic instructions :) Some questions: Its just targetting MSVC right? Not borland/whatever? Should it install the headers/libraries in the msvc dir (c:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98\(Include|Lib)), or should it put them in the same directory as the document (c:\Program Files\Ogg Vorbis SDK\(Include|Lib)), and have the sample

[LLVMdev] function pointer alias analysis
Hi I see when LLVM builds the CallGraph SCCs. a function calling through a function pointer is conservatively assumed to call internal and external functions. Therefore, it has an edges pointing to the externalnode2, ie. the externalnode representing outgoing calls from this module. does LLVM have any function pointer analysis capabilities in the mainline ? Thanks, -Trent

Problems with ogg/vorbis python bindings.
I compiled and installed pyogg followed by pyvorbis, running: $ ./config_unix.py $ python setup.py build and as root: # python setup.py install for pyogg and pyvorbis in turn. This completed without error, however upon trying to import ogg.vorbis in IDLE I get an import error: ImportError: libvorbisfile.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I was told this may have
