Editing comments in Vorbis files...
I tryed this piece of code to write a second file with the same comments in it but the program always crash on vcedit_write()... I'm unable to figure out why it is crashing. Compiled under Visual Stucio .NET 2003 with ogg.dll and vorbis.dll linked dynamically! vcomment doesn't crash linked dynamically with ogg.dll and vorbis.dll #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h>

Memory Leak in vorbis_info_clear()
I'm having trouble tracking down why it leaks, but below is an example program which shows--using valgrind--that vorbis_info_clear() leaks memory if called before vorbis_dsp_clear(), but not if called after vorbis_dsp_clear(). Just compile and run under valgrind, using the -l switch to the example program to trigger a leak. Tested under OS X 10.7 and Ubuntu 12.04. This may be by design, or

metadata switches for ffmpeg2theora
Jan, Here's a hacky patch to add a few commandline options for setting comment header fields in ffmpeg2theora. It's a bit big because I virtualized the global info struct in theorautils.c. In retrospect that probably wasn't necessary, but I think it's cleaner anyway. I didn't test it because I couldn't compile ffmpeg2theora, but modulo bugs it should support

[Patch] Const correct tags functions
Hi all, I tend to compile my code with all GCC warnings turned on. However, when I do this : vorbis_comment_add_tag(&vdata->vc,"ENCODER","libsndfile"); I get the following warning messages: warning: passing argument 2 of 'vorbis_comment_add_tag' discards qualifiers from pointer target type warning: passing argument 3 of

vcedit on non-vorbisI streams
I've been looking at modifying vcedit so it will work on Ogg streams containing primarily Vorbis data (i.e. first page is the Vorbis header, most pages are Vorbis and a few are something else e.g. metadata or lyrics). I've managed to get something that works by: 1. During the header opening in vcedit_open push non-Vorbis pages onto a buffer added to vcedit_state and write them out after

Writting 16-bit PCM data to Ogg.
Hi Developers, I have a 16-bit PCM data buffer, I want to write that to ogg file. Could you help me to understand how to write pcm data to the ogg? Thanks in advance. Building on BeOS part 3
After fixing a 'bug' in libtool, I've finally got ogg compiling and producing a shared library. Now I'm trying to build vorbis but I'm falling over at the final step. While trying to produce libvorbisfile. The make file is trying to compile with gcc -nostart vorbisfile.o -L/boot/home/config/lib -logg -Wl,-soname - Wl,libvorbisfile.so -o .libs/libvorbisfile.so with

Getting a GUI to work with Vorbis code
I am trying to create a Graphical User Interface for a Vorbis Player under MS Visual C++ 6.0 I was initially trting to use the code from decoder_example.c but I keep getting linker errors. I have set up my project as told to by James Boer on this mailing list. This is as follows: This document was prepared from an email received from James Boer on the Ogg Vorbis mailing list. It gives a

Ogg in MP4 file, Unexpected result from _vorbis_unpack_books
Hi. I'm trying to implement Ogg/Vorbis support for the MPEG4IP project. The goal is to support Ogg/Vorbis audio for MPEG-4 streaming. So far I have managed to make the encoder save Ogg packets as an Audio object in an .mp4 file. As a side effect, it can also save Ogg pages in an .ogg file playable by xmms, but that's no big deal. So what I'm doing is this. First the init part. a)

ov_comment spec
I've been working towards a mp3info like tool, OggInfo, which will surplant vorbiscomment in functionality, and also incorportate mp3info like featuers. Looking at existing vorbis api calls, i find: vorbis_comment_add() /* unsupervised string insertion */ vorbis_comment_add_tag() /* formated TAG=text insertion */ vorbis_comment_query() /* scans for matching tag (up to count duplicates) and

vorbis_info_clear important?
Hi, I'm using a Windows development component which uses vorbis.dll, ogg.dll, vorbisenc.dll for encoding a file. When finishing a recording, the component runs these functions... ogg_stream_clear(OggSS); vorbis_block_clear(VBlock); vorbis_dsp_clear(Vdsp); vorbis_comment_clear(VComm); vorbis_info_clear(VInfo); I'm occasionally receiving a hang in the function

Vorbis primitive API examples (LONG)
Okay, how do I drop a changeset/patchset/tag for you folks from SVN? At this point, I have written three examples of how to use the basics of the ogg streaming and decoding in Tremor. I heartily welcome any suggestions, improvements and corrections that you can point out in the code. The examples required me to make some small modifications to the main tremor library. However, the changes

Encoding process
I apologize for bugging you all again, but I've been trying to wrap my head around the encoding process and I'm about to have an aneurysm :P I've gone through oggenc.c, encode.c, and audio.c and I think I have a basic idea of what happens. I got it down in pseudocode as follows: --- 1 get parameters 2 init vorbis_comment -- vorbis_comment_init() 3 init vorbis_info --

ogginfo: playlength display in milliseconds
Hello Some time ago I posted a lil' patch to this list which adds milliseconds display of playlength to ogginfo. Some folks replied that it's plausible and this patch will be merged to the next version. Vorbistools-1.0.1 got out and the patch is not in it. Why? Anyway, here's this patch for vorbistools-1.0.1. I hope this time you will include it, because milliseconds support is

mem leak when writing ogg vorbis comments
I'm working on a win32 C++/MFC program, and I'm having trouble getting rid of a memory leak when writing vorbis comments. I've cut away everything except reading the file and then writing it out, and I still have a 256 byte mem leak (appended below). The code was modeled after vorbiscomment. It uses all the oggvorbis-win32sdk-1.0 static libs. I tried checking the mailing list

ices2: ice-url header patch
After reading this posting in the icecast archives (http://www.xiph.org/archives/icecast/3483.html) about setting the stream url in the metadata with ices2, I couldn't see that it actually was possible to set the ice-url anywhere. Please let me know if the attached patch is any use, and if I'm sending it to the right place! (Unix linefeeds). I use it with Peercast. It means you can add

Bug fix, win32 stuff
There was a bug in the new ov_open_callbacks where it would not zero out some member variables of the file info struct, and if a file was not successfully opened this would cause a crash at destruct time. Fixed. I've also made some changes so that vorbis will compile cleanly under win32 without one having to muck around with it. I have added a "vorbis_vc6" directory which contains

UTF-8 stuff
Here's a propsed heavy-duty solution for your UTF-8 problems. I'm including a patch in this message, but I'll put the new files on my web site at http://rano.org/tmp/xiph_files.tar.gz I've tested this by running vorbiscomment with and without -DHAVE_ICONV=1 in vorbis-tools/share/Makefile. It seems to work. Changed files: acinclude.m4: Add a test for nl_langinfo(CODESET). This
