Problems building vorbis tools 1.0.1
hi! I've got some problems compiling/linking the vorbis tools. at first I had the same problem as mentioned here: http://www.xiph.org/archives/vorbis-dev/200201/0005.html (make was looking for libogg.la in the wrong path) but creating a symlink to /usr/local/lib/libogg.la in /usr/lib/ helped. :) having solved this, I get a new error: --- gcc -O20 -ffast-math -fsigned-char -o ogg123

[vorbis-tools] Some patches coming from Debian bugs
Hello. Attached are some patches that some Debian users of vorbis-tools have sent to our BTS over the years (numbers refer to Debian bugs). It'd be nice to see them integrated. They apply cleanly to SVN as of today. The largefile_support one is a bit bigger than just the configure.ac since the submitter adviced that config.h got included in all C source files before the standard includes,

Vorbis 1.0.1 release compile errors (libvorbis, vorbistools)
Well, I grabbed the tarballs this morning and found that of the three new releases, only libogg1.1 would compile without and issue. I had to recompile my flac1.1.0 for ogg support, and it gave me a new error (or I wasnt paying attention, anyway...) it will finish compiling and install, but I only ran make check on the original compile, not the new one with OggFLAC attached and stuff...

Bug in ogg123 playback of OggFLAC files?
[I'm not online regularly, so don't include me in any replies. And I'm not sure if the vorbis or the flac list, or something else, is more suitable for the following, so bear with me] Moin, moin. I used a recent ogg123 to play back a FLAC file I had created, and saw it wasn't able to seek within the file. So, I thought to myself, why not try out an OggFLAC file, so I created

Usage of puppet to deploy and configuration manage software patches
I have some questions in terms of how to use puppet of configuration management for software patches. My previous approach was it to create a puppet module for each patch ... Like Patch1 includes (FileA, FileB, FileC), Patch2 includes (FileD, FileE)... So far so good and that works but now i have to create a Patch3 with lets say FileF and FileA included. As you can see there will be a puppet

patch for bugs in vorbis-tools-1.1.1
Hi I've found bugs in vorbis-tools and wrote this patch to fix them: 1st part is to fix single-channel flac files. 2nd part fixes a problem with thread race causing lockup if you press Ctrl-C Ctrl-C sets sig_request.cancel, buffer thread exits if it sees sig_request.cancel However, if Ctrl-C was pressed here do { if (nthc-- == 0) { ----------------> Ctrl-C

Ruby 1.8.4 on SUSE 10.0 howto
All, I just installed ruby 1.8.4 on my SUSE 10.0 box. It was slightly convoluted so I thought I would post the solution here. Once this runs for a day or so I will try upgrading my rails to 1.1 === Ruby 1.8.4 on SUSE 10.0 Howto I downloaded the src.rpm from http://mirrors.kernel.org/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/suse/src/ruby-1.8.4-9.src.rpm Then I installed it with

Multi-channel with empty channels.
All, Lets say I have a 16 channel file, but 10 of those channels are empty (all values are 0). For a) the vorbis codec and also b) the FLAC codec ... would the size of the file be close to (or practically the same as) the size of a 6 channel file? Etienne

PATCH: OS SSE support detection, version 2

I hope that this code will help to avoid "bug" reports such as http://sourceforge.net/p/flac/bugs/409/ (it seems that the author of this report compiled FLAC without --enable-sse option). OTOH, SSE support is
