library of ogg vorbis encoder
Hello, I have succeed in compile oggencoder to create ogg enc.exe, but I have put libraries in my visual c++ project( ogg_static_d.lib vorbis_static_d.lib vorbisenc_static_d.lib). What are these libraries? What does they contain? In my visual project, I have just audio.c;encode.c; getopt.c; getopt1.c;oggenc.c;platform.c;utf8.c in the source files. I don't know where are the files (MDCT.c; PSY

Compile Encoder_example.c
Hi, I'm a highschool student, I'm looking for information about converting Wave file (*.wav) into Ogg file (*.ogg) and i found encoder_example.c inside libvorbis's example directory. I try to compile it using Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 ,but it goes error like this : --------------------Configuration: encoder_example - Win32 Debug-------------------- Linking... encoder_example.obj :

Oggenc/oggdec on Mac OS X
Hi, Has anyone succeeded to build oggenc and oggdec on Mac OS X with static linking? I can build libogg and libvorbis and install them as dynamic libraries (by running ./configure, make and then make install). Then oggenc and oggdec will load them in runtime and use them. That works fine. But I'd like to build these two command line tools so they're linked with all the libraries they

Ogv file only plays in VLC / Can't be used by most tools.
Hi, I'm new here - thanks for having me. (Sorry if I'm in the wrong place or a noob.) I downloaded the Theora encoder sample (ver 1.1.1), modified it to encode a sequence of bitmaps, and created an OGV file. The OGV file plays fine in the latest VLC (1.0.5), but I can't do much else with it: I tried uploading to YouTube, and the video just comes out really corrupt:

problem building vorbis-tools-1.0rc3
I download all the tarballs for rc3. I compiled and installed all the libraries successfully, but I wan't able to compile the vorbis tools (1.0rc3) package succesfully. I can run configure successfully, but when I run make it dies with this make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/local/src/vorbis-tools-1.0rc3/oggenc' /bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link gcc -O20 -ffast-math -fsigned-char -o

_oggpack
Hello I am new at this. I have compiled the libogg and libvorbis libraries and installed them on my MacOS X machine. The libao cannot be compiled yet since stuff is missing. But I only want to play round with encoding right now. So I also unpacked the vorbis tools distribution and am in oggenc. In oggenc I do a cc *.c -I. -L/usr/local/lib -logg -lvorbis -lvorbisenc I get unknown symbols

oggenc command not found
Dear Vorbis List, I have just joined this List. Thankyou to all the developers who have worked on this project it is wonderful. I am running SuSE 7.3 and the cdaudio ogg ripping works very well. I am now in the process of archiving my vinyl in ogg files. According to the SuSE manual this is done using the oggenc command but I get no such command to work. I have also tried ./oggenc. Any

compiling oggenc
Hello all, I am trying to compile oggenc from the "vorbis nightly cvs" archive... and I've been hacking something together for about 3 hours now... and i'm getting the feeling that it should not be this hard... what is the correct way to use the CVS tree and VC++ Pro 5.0? -=csmafia _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private,

cvs changes
I'm trying to clean up CVS, getting everything where it should be, because pretty soon we're going to have to build SDK's and whatnot, and I want that to be easy. We're basically going to have 3 libraries: 1) libogg 2) libvorbis 3) libvorbisfile I have separated libogg out from the rest of the code, cleaned it up, got it doing 'make dist' and rpms and imported this into

ov_clear(&vorbis) segfaults?
Hello all. I'm new to this list. I'm also new to coding with libvorbis and things, so please bear with me. :) I've been having trouble with libvorbisfile. My use of it is fairly simple, but when I try to ov_clear the vorbis file, it segfaults. I can attach or otherwise make availible some demo source code, but for now I'll just pull out relevant lines: //BEGIN PSEUDO CODE

vorbis-tools-1.1.1 build mechanism stubbornly refuses to build with FLAC, ogg123, speex
Hello, I am trying build vorbis-tools-1.1.1 in the framework of my tool (see signature). The essence of the tools is that it builds and install everything locally, and, of course, it uses the available mechanisms to specify search paths for both headers and libraries; the tool first builds dependencies abd then the target itself. So, for example, 'configure' for vorbis-tools-1.1.1 is

Compiling oggenc in mingw32...no FLAC support?
After pinpointing a ld switch problem in the ogg/src/Makefile file, I managed to get libogg and libvorbis to compile using mingw32. FLAC compiled flawless so the configure script in vorbis-tools detected FLAC and included support for it in oggenc. And when oggenc was compiling, I noticed it included the FLAC libraries so everything went smoothly. But the oggenc.exe made only recognises wav

oggenc and Encoding with VBR
Apologies if this is know. But I've spent most of today Googling for a way to get this working, and to me, something is wrong here. But it might well be me. Anyway... I've been trying to record direct from the soundcard into an ogg file. I came up with rawrec -t 10 | oggenc -r -Q -q 5 - > foo.ogg which partially works. ogg123 will play it, but ogginfo reports Warning: Hole in

Custom Form Builder Help
Hello All, We use a different custom form builder for our app, but I wanted to use facebooker''s typeahead widget in side the other form builder. I don''t know much about form builders, but I created a file in lib/ doing this: http://pastie.caboo.se/178776 It works great, except that the id''s and class names get messed up. Instead of school_name, I get

vorbis-tools 1.3.0 BETA - Help testing.
Dear vorbis-dev lurkers, I bring you the first beta release of vorbis-tools 1.3.0. It has quite a few new features and the final version will have even more, so I am sure it is to everyone's benefit that it gets as much tested as possible so we can do a quick release. Here's the changelog so far: * Fixed an error in configure.ac; --with-speex/flac work again (#1319) * Corrected

Vorbis 1.0.1 release compile errors (libvorbis, vorbistools)
Well, I grabbed the tarballs this morning and found that of the three new releases, only libogg1.1 would compile without and issue. I had to recompile my flac1.1.0 for ogg support, and it gave me a new error (or I wasnt paying attention, anyway...) it will finish compiling and install, but I only ran make check on the original compile, not the new one with OggFLAC attached and stuff...

oggenc 1.0rc2 dies on alpha
Embarrasing that I didn't notice this earlier. oggenc from 1.0rc2 dies for me on FreeBSD/alpha with SIGFPE. I expect this to come out of libvorbis. I've built libao/libogg/libvorbis/vorbis-tools with both gcc and ccc, no difference. I'll see whether I can dig up more details. -- Christian "naddy" Weisgerber naddy@mips.inka.de --- >8 ----

Write pure sine to *.ogg directly?
Hello, I am author of a Morse code training software written in Perl at http://starling.ws/morse Currently I output to *.wav and, if on Unix, convert to *.ogg. And that's okay for a trainer. But I have desire to upgrade the project to a real-time communication tool...or at least a Morse code audio mail routine. And I should like to avoid *.wav. I'd like some means of writing a pure

plans for lenny-cran? can I help?
Hi, I'm running a highschool network with Debian etch and the etch-cran "backports" on top of it. Being bio-informatics, the newest R is essential to us. I did some upgrading experiments; switching to ubuntu is not an option, neither is fetching the sid debs for r. When trying to upgrade from etch to lenny with etch-cran packages installed things block on etch-cran dependencies.
