How about a --min-size option, next to --max-size
There's a rather old bug report in Debian's bug tracking system
(see http://bugs.debian.org/27126) about wanting to be able to specify
the maximum file size, as well as the minimum file size. Here's the
text:
Sometimes, it's useful to specify a file size range one is
interested in.
For example, I'd like to keep an up-to-date mirror of Debian, but I

[PATCH net] virtio-net: reject small vring sizes
Check vring size and fail probe if a transmit/receive vring size is
smaller than MAX_SKB_FRAGS + 2.
At the moment, any vring size is accepted. This is problematic because
it may result in attempting to transmit a packet with more fragments
than there are descriptors in the ring.
Furthermore, it leads to an immediate bug:
The condition: (sq->vq->num_free >= 2 + MAX_SKB_FRAGS) in

[PATCH] add option to skip files based on age/mtime
I've added the options --min-age=SECONDS and --max-age=SECONDS to allow
rsync to skip files based on how recently they were modified.
Setting --min-age=30 (for example) would cause rsync to skip files that
had been modified within the last 30 seconds.
Setting --max-age=7776000 would cause rsync to skip files that had been
modified more than 90 days ago (7776000 == 60*60*24*90).

Vorbis bistream definition / separation from ogg
Hi,
I have some questions:
1) in the sources of the encoder_example (and of course in oggenc.c,
too) I see a lot of dependance
on ogg. I want to get totally rid of ogg and use the vorbis bitstream
alone.
From this reason stems the second question:
2) is there a definition of the vorbis bitstream somewhere? I don't need
to know every single
detail, just the informations necessary to

[RFC][PATCH 3/3] Btrfs: improve truncation of btrfs
The original truncation of btrfs has a bug, that is the orphan item will not be
dropped when the truncation fails. This bug will trigger BUG() when unlink that
truncated file. And besides that, if the user does pre-allocation for the file
which is truncated unsuccessfully, after re-mount(umount-mount, not -o remount),
the pre-allocated extent will be dropped.
This patch modified the relative

counting occurences of words in the result set
Hello, I need to be able to count the occurences of certain terms in the
reults.
Currently my setup is Ferret 0.10.1 aaf bleeding edge.
results = VoObject.find_by_contents(query,:offset=>page, :limit=>
20,:sort => sort_fields)
I use results.total_hits for pagination. This all works really nicely.
However i need to be able to know how many occurences of certain
predefined terms occur

Many changes recently
Hi Everyone,
I just merged a lot of changes in the CELT master branch. This should
solve the following issues:
- tonal artefacts (birdies) at low bit-rate
- tonal artefacts in stereo at all rates
- low-frequency noise (roughness) on low bit-rate speech
The code has been simplified a lot, but there's lots of changes, so
please give this a try and see if anything got broken.
Cheers,

[PATCH] ignore-non-existing-directory: add variant of ignore-non-existing
From: "Robin H. Johnson" <robbat2 at gentoo.org>
Add new option --ignore-non-existing-directory, that is a variant of
--ignore-non-existing, but applies ONLY to directories.
This was previously proposed in bug #8366, but I indepentantly had a use
case for it in the Gentoo infrastructure.

buffer overflow in receive_file_entry
Hi,
I have two identical servers running Mandrake 10.0 + many bugfixes.
I installed the plain rsync 2.6.3 (and after that the last cvs checkout,
but with identical results)
and configured rsync as xinetd daemon on one of the two, rsync as client
on the other.
This is the result:
[root@server rsync-2.4.4]# rsync -avz server::sitis/mydir/
receiving file list ... overflow: flags=0xb6ee l1=21

Halt file upload if maximum size is reached. Is that possible?
Hi guys.
I''m building a rapidshare-like app, and as such each user has a disk
quota. It''s possible to prevent a file save if it exceeds the free
space, but I searched for an way to do the same _during_ the file
upload. Using flash it''s apparently possible, but I don''t want to use
flash.
One way to do it is via Apache configuration.
But, is there any other way

ZFS boot and data on same disk - is this supported?
I have read the ZFS best practice guide located at
http://www.solarisinternals.com/wiki/index.php/ZFS_Best_Practices_Guide
However I have questions whether we support using slices for data on the
same disk as we use for ZFS boot. What issues does this create if we
have a disk failure in a mirrored environment? Does anyone have examples
of customers doing this in production environments.

[PATCH] virtio_ring: use u32 for virtio_max_dma_size
Both split ring and packed ring use 32bits to describe the length of
a descriptor: see struct vring_desc and struct vring_packed_desc.
This means the max segment size supported by virtio is U32_MAX.
An example of virtio_max_dma_size in virtio_blk.c:
u32 v, max_size;
max_size = virtio_max_dma_size(vdev); -> implicit convert
err = virtio_cread_feature(vdev, VIRTIO_BLK_F_SIZE_MAX,
