Some oggdsf utilities and libraries now available on UNIX
Hi all,
(This has been cross-posted to vorbis-dev and ogg-dev, since I thought
various people on vorbis-dev may be interested in it.)
I've been working with illiminable for the past few weeks to port the
underlying, platform-neutral part of his DirectShow filters (oggdsf) to
UNIX. While DirectShow is a Windows-specific media framework,
illiminable's filters have been designed so

Status of Windows Theora builds
Hi all,
Just a heads up to let you know that I've fixed up the Visual C++
project files so that libtheora and the associated experimental programs
(dumpvid/encoderwin/splayer/transcoder) builds on Windows again. I also
have good news and good news.
The bad news is: experimental\splayer doesn't work. It compiles, but
segfaults immediately when you try to play any Ogg file. The bug

libogg and libvorbis releases
Zen (and everyone else),
I finally had time this weekend to review the libogg and libvorbis
release status. I think both are ready to go on the linux side. There
are quite a few vorbis issues open, but I don't think anything is
release critical, and we should get the gcc4 aliasing bugfix out there.
How are things looking with your build? Is current svn is building for
you? As soon as

libogg 1.1.3 and libvorbis 1.1.2 releases
I'm pleased to announce the release of new versions of our Ogg and
Vorbis reference implementation libraries. These are bug fix releases,
with no new features. Particularly important is a fix for a pointer
aliasing bug triggered by the new gcc 4.x optimizer. Because of this we
strongly recommend that all gcc-based users upgrade, i.e. those on
GNU/Linux and MacOS X, for example.

libogg and libvorbis on MinGW
I am using libogg, libvorbis, and libvorbisfile in my most recent
project. One of the build environments that my project must build on is
MinGW. http://www.mingw.org/
Unfortunately, it seems that there are a few (possibly) minor problems
with the libogg and libvorbis build processes which prevent me from
building them under MinGW.
One is that both of them reference header _G_config.h which

Binaries for Visual Studio.NET?
I apologize for what's surely a common question, but the Xiph
archive-searcher seems broken, and all my other searches have come up
dry. Anyway, my question is:
Are there any Theora binaries available for Visual Studio.NET?
Alternatively, how do I build Theora using Visual Studio.NET? I tried
using "\win32\theora_static.dsp", but VS.NET claimed it was corrupt
and couldn't

Xiph.Org releases libogg 1.2.1 and libvorbis 1.3.2
Xiph.Org is pleased to announce a full release of libogg 1.2.1
and libvorbis 1.3.2. This is not a coordinated release, it was
merely convenient to do a release cycle for both at the same
time.
Changes and fixes in the new libogg release include:
* Various build updates (see SVN)
* Add ogg_stream_pageout_fill() to API to allow applications
greater explicit flexibility in page sizing.

Compiling libogg and libvorbis using MinGW
Hi there,
This is probably a rather stupid question, but being a bit new to the open
source world I'd like to ask this question anyway:
I'm trying to learn more about Ogg Vorbis, so I downloaded the source code
for libogg and libvorbis. I unzipped them and tried to compile them using
../configure and make in MinGW. libvorbis complains that libogg is not
installed even though I just

C++, Python wrappers for libogg and libvorbis
since there's already a Python wrapper for libogg and libvorbis, it
occurred to me: Why not write a Python wrapper for libogg and libvorbis?
http://dingoskidneys.com/oggpy/
this is the 0.001 release. "release early.." it requires Boost.Python,
possibly CVS Boost.Python, available from http://boost.org/
partly because it's not finished but mostly because it's written with

Configuring libogg/libvorbis with CC under Irix 6.3
Hi folks,.
I'm working on a project on Irix 6.3 using CC (not GCC) and the .o32 object
format (not n32) and would like to incorperate ogg-vorbis. Is there any
way to configure the libogg/libvorbis makefiles to work with CC? (Or does
anyone know how to arm-twist GCC under Irix 6.3 into producing o32 object
files?)
Thanks super-much for any help,
Mike

New Directshow filters preview...
I have been developing some directshow filters for ogg, and vorbis and speex... currently i have an ogg demux filter and a speex/vorbis decoding filter. In this pre-release only vorbis is operational... but the speex decoder is pretty much done... i jsut need to tweak the demux filter so that it can negotiate a speex connection with the other filter. Just though some people might find them useful
