DVD Audio & Vorbis
I recently bought a DVD Audio disc and I searched the web and wasn't really able to find much about DVD Audio and Linux. I have a few questions that I was hoping some people on this list might be able to answer. How can I extract the uncompressed DVD Audio (not the DTS Audio portion of the disc, but the 96khz/24bit/5.1 pcm part)?

AGAIN: ogg123/ogg123.c of vorbis-tools causes error on FreeBSD
In the vorbis-tools of the 20010710 version of CVS snapshot, ogg123/ogg123.c causes error on FreeBSD: <sys/types.h> is required. This *HAS NOT BEEN FIXED SINCE THE 20010601 VERSION*. I would appreciate if you just add an #include line - or let me know why you do not want to do so. // Kenji Rikitake *** ogg123.c.FCS Sun Apr 8 11:33:08 2001 --- ogg123.c Sat Jun 2 00:40:08 2001

Antw: Re: Possible bug in Opus 1.3 (opus-tools-0.2-opus-1.3)?
Hi! Excuse the delay, but I had to deal with a corrupted NTFS file system that ate many important files on an USB stick... The FLAC version of the original is almost 6MB and it can be downloaded slowly from this time-limited link: https://sbr5vjid0jgmce4q.myfritz.net:40262/nas/filelink.lua?id=0ba5a10529a6fe7b On the meaning of a logarithmic sweep: If you use foobar2000 and the

Hello I'm new and I've got a problem using metaflac
Hollo I'm new, My name is Ariel Arelovich I've encountered the following problem trying to sue metaflac. I used the following command: c:\Archivos de programa\FLAC>metaflac --set-tag-from-file="CUESHEET=sola.cue" so la.flac sola.flac: ERROR: file 'sola.cue' for 'CUESHEET' tag value has embedded NULs And I've got that error. See I have the flac that is

In which release did FLAC support 192kHz sample rate?
Greetings, In reviewing the changelogs it?s unclear in which release FLAC began supporting a sample rate of 192kHz. The reason for my question is that there are many forums and university studies that state that FLAC does not support a sample rate of 192kHz however the current documentation (assumed 1.2.1b) under FORMAT under FRAME_HEADER does note that it is supported. If it was not

[Flac-users] DVD-audio and FLAC
I've been reading through a few forums about ripping DVD audio / Sony SACD's (I'm not sure if these are the same or if they are different formats). Anyway, being that I haven't found a way to rip this stuff yet as there may not be any consumer product out yet that enables the feat, I have been curous about FLAC's ability to encode in a 6 channel format at the high bitrate

24/96 ?
Hi people, looking around for a new audiocard, my eye fell on the M-audio audiophile 2496. It has 4 digital in/out and is 24bit, 96kHz. The sound quality is very good, if I can believe the reviews. <p>My question is: can vorbis do 24bit, 96kHz ? -- --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list,

Downsampling
It is commonly said here that if I want to make AM radio-quality stuff at very low bitrates, a good way is to downsample. I downsampled a song to 11025Hz mono and encoded with -q 0, the result is about 18kbps and is at least radio quality. The downsampler I used is from Edinburgh speech tools, named ch_wave. `sox' performs terribly, so I didn't use it. However, I heard some unpleasant

Resampling Audio for use with Asterisk
Hello All, I have several soundfiles that are recorded ub 44100Hz, 16-bit Mono. What is the best way and right tools to use to downsample these to 8000Hz so that they can be used with Asterisk. I've tried using sox with the -r switch and Audacity on the mac and Goldwave on Windows and they all generate files that sound like a bad acid trip. I tried increasing the speed 551.25 percent after

Apply R in Excel through RExcel
ryusuke: It sounds like you need to have (D)COM server to be able to work on the background. As for the foreground, rcom is what you need and it appears to be working OK. I am out of my office right now but I'll back to work next week and I will be able to explain in more detail how the applications I tied together work with RExcel and R.
