Encoding / new comments
Hi, I'm developing a software using a vorbis encoder, streaming to an icecast server. I recently realized that the system gets a bit out of sync at every new track. The machine isn't really fast, but it's enough, and it can actually get the sync back quickly. However, I'm wondering why the encoding costs me so much at every new track, it would be better to have the system behave

icecast related packages available
Hi, I made some debian packages related to icecast (libshout, ices,icecast,...). They are all available officialy, but tthey need to be validated to integrated official distribution (either Sid, or Etch). Feel free to try them out. Here is the lines you could add to you sources.list: deb ftp://infogerance.locataire-serveur.info/debian/ testing main deb-src

Problem using the ogg-vorbis win32 SDK 1.0 [VC++6.0 XP]
Hi I am using ogg-vorbis win32 SDK 1.0 [ VC++ 6.0 , Windows XP ] I am trying to use the function "vorbis_analysis_headerout() ; " When I called the function in a stand alone small C progam it worked , but when I tried to use the same function as part of some big project it failed saying "Access violation in Vorbis.dll " and the application closed. Any clue ??? Thank you,

libvorbis 1.2.2 RC1
Version 1.2.1 was skipped. This Release Candidate's package does NOT ship with documentation as, you may have read in another thread[1], there are problems in the building process. The final release will hopefully have this issue fixed. These are the new changes since the unreleased 1.2.1: * API calls for VENDOR and ENCODER * seek correctly in files bigger than 2 GB (Windows) * fix

error in "encoder_example.c"
Hi, Why do I get an error message when i'm running the "encoder_example.c" which is included in the SDK? The error occurs then the 44 bits are read and the vorbis_info struct is initiated (i.e. when the vorbis_encode_init(&vi,2,44100, -1, 128000, -1) - funcion is called. I also tried to read the data from a 16 bits 44,1 KHz stereo PCM - wave file but recived the same error.

Object Audio - Misusing Vorbis?
Hi there I'm trying to use Vorbis in a slightly unusual way, and I'm a little unclear if I'm going to be able to do what I want to do nicely, or at all. Many apologies if I'm on the wrong list, or if this is a FAQ, or off-topic. I'd be very happy to be re-routed! I'm doing a little experimental work on a block-based bitstream format for object audio streaming. This format

Multiple Parking Lots Being Redirected to the Wrong Parking Lot
Hi, I've been trying to set up multiple parking lots using multiple tenants on version 1.8.x (tried all versions including 1.8.4RC2), however calls only park on one parking lot (the top parking lot of the command 'parkedcalls show'). Everything works fine when running on version 1.6.2.17. Currently have a bug opened, but haven't got any updates for over a month.

Indexing a lot of records
When trying to index a rather large database of records (50,000), acts_as_ferret takes a long time, then invariably times out and all the index information isn''t created. Does anyone know how to rectify this? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

master-detail display -- a lot of work?
Hello, I have two tables with a master detail relationship between them. I''d like to display both on one screen, for example, a single-record display of the master in form format on the left side of the screen and on the right side, the corresponding details in grid display format. I''d like to have a Find, Next, Previous buttons associated with the master. The display of the

Wine has improved a lot!
I hope I'm not wasting bandwidth with this, but I just had to compliment the developers of Wine for the work that's been done. Wine has gotten to the point now where just about anything I've thrown at it works either out of the box, or with minimal tweaking. I remember when it used to be really difficult or nearly impossible to get many applications to run with Wine, but now the

Dealing with *a lot* of Mailers
Anybody here deal with "a lot" of ActionMailers ? I have a lot of places within my application that send out emails to various parties. My /views directory has a directory for each type of mail... ie: new_user_mailer/ forgot_password_mailer/ ...etc The /views directory is getting quite full of directories because of this, and I''ve tried working some magic to get the views

Slackware 12.1 + Samba 3.0.28a + a lot of users
G'day Samba Users! I'm trying to use Samba on a Linux server which has a lot of Unix users: I have Slackware 12.1 and Samba 3.0.28a. My users are defined in /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow which is typical for Slackware. I have one directory shared between everybody called Xchange: [Xchange] comment = Xchange path = /raid/Xchange read only = no public = yes The above works

A lot of 603 Declined Error form iCall - Are they going down or is it just bad service?
Hi everyone, Since three weeks ago, we have been getting A LOT of 603 Declined calls from iCall. I called a few times and their support is either non-responsive (they never call back) or can't fix the issue. I am wondering if everyone else is experiencing the same thing or is it because we recently upgraded from Asterisk 1.6x to Asterisk 1.8x and there is something that is causing this. This

Parking Lot CallerID
Is there anyway of storing an incoming calls CallerID on a parked call and having it restored when someone picks up the parked call? I've tried storing the CID as a global variable and restoring it in my dialplan, and while NoOp shows it working, the phone ignores it and uses the parking lot extension for callerid instead. I believe this is because the phone is calling out instead of a call

Heavy reports with a lot of calculations
Hello, I am working on reports now where we are using MySQL (InnoDB) and Rails 2.3.4. Tables are big and there are a lot of calculation with several big tables. Please give me some suggestions whether there any gem, plugin, articles, or techniques that allows me to create heavy reports. I am even going to use cron job that allows me to calculate some middle data in order to provide heavy
