fixed-point OGG Vorbis encoder
Hello, Iam interesting in transcoding the algorithm of OGG VORBIs in fixed point because I have to implemente this encoder in a fixed point DSP. Does the source code of ogg vorbis encoder exist in fixed point or is there people that work on this or anything else? library of ogg vorbis encoder
Hello, I have succeed in compile oggencoder to create ogg enc.exe, but I have put libraries in my visual c++ project( ogg_static_d.lib vorbis_static_d.lib vorbisenc_static_d.lib). What are these libraries? What does they contain? In my visual project, I have just audio.c;encode.c; getopt.c; getopt1.c;oggenc.c;platform.c;utf8.c in the source files. I don't know where are the files (MDCT.c; PSY

OGG VORBIS encoder in a texas DSP
Hello, My project is to encode an audio signal with a DSP TM320DM642 and to store the encoded file on a PCMCIA card(hard disk). I want to know if that is possible to do that. I have an other question with ooggencoder. In the win32 console, I want that "stdin" corresponds to my sound card input and that "stdout " corresponds to my sound card output. How can I do that? Many

oggenc in vorbistools 1.0.1
Hello, Iam trying to compile oggenc to create oggenc.exe but i have 6 errors in the compilation. I have done like this: 1)I create a project in visual C++ 6.0(win 32 console) 2)i include the C files ans h file in source and header files the errors are: f:\stage_2004_xtase\guillaume_roget\ogg_vorbis\ogg_tools\vorbis-tools-1.0.1\oggenc\encode.h(5) : fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file:

Encoder for Pocket PCs
Hi developers! I would like to know if it is possible to use Vorbis encoder as a real-time encoder for Pocket PCs, because they don't have floating point based unit. If not, do you plan to make a fixed-point based encoder? I'm very interested in this issue so if I could help, I will. I'm working on fixed-point MP3 encoder for XScale devices in cooperation with Intel. It seems that

mp3PRO encoder/decoder demo available
If anyone is interested, mp3PRO demo is available on Coding Technologies web site: http://www.codingtechnologies.de/ Demo is a Win32 encoder/player, and it is limited to 64kbps only. I did a quick test, and it really sounds good at 64kbps (but not as good as 128kbps - we all know that was hype). SBR (Spectral Band Replication) seems to be working pretty well. Of course SBR is only used if you

Hardware encoder.
Hi people, I am aware of the integer based DEcoder (Tremor) but am more interested in a hardware ENcoder, for use in a solid state portable recorder. Has anyone made *any* steps towards implementing an encoder in a DSP? I ask because I have been investigating MP3 hardware encoders, and apart from being very expensive (to licence - DSPs are as cheap as grains of sand in comparison) I have an

Dolby Begins Licensing AAC Consumer Encoder Implementation
Well, in the world of audio compression it's never boring... :-) Full press release from Dolby: http://www.aac-audio.com/press/aac.pr.0104.AACencoder.html My comments: Looks like Dolby will start licensing AAC encoder that targets consumers and the products they use like CD rippers, jukebox players, etc. Also, it looks like that this encoder will be Low Complexity AAC ("The AAC Consumer

Which encoder?
I was going through some of my old CD-Rs and I found some really old Vorbis files. They sound pretty decent though the bitrate is really high(~200 kbps). Their vendor string is Xiphophorus libVorbis I 20000508. I looked on http://wiki.xiph.org/XiphHistory but that doesn't list any encoders from June 08, 2000. Could these files come from a pre-Beta1 encoder? It also says it was

HOWTO: Use grip as a great oggenc frontend.
I've seen a lot of people in many forums asking for vorbis frontends for Linux. A little bit ago, I switched my roomate over from encoding to mp3 to encoding to vorbis. To make the transition as painless as possible I wanted to let her continue using GRIP as her encoder frontend. To actually accomplish this project, I realized that if any real work was required on my part it would never be

Release Candidate 1 encoder ?
Yes I know this question has been asked many times, but since Monty said that RC1 will be released in July (actually a pre-release should happen before that), and since the month is almost over, is everything still on schedule or is RC1 going to be delayed? -- Vorbis Xtreme | http://solair.eunet.yu/~aldov/ Ogg Vorbis is the free, open source alternative to MP3 --- >8 ---- List archives:

MetaData Update for FLAC and OPUS
Hi Philipp, While you might logically/theoretically be right with what you say, it is not really practical and unfortunately not user friendly. Let me try to explain my standpoint: Most users do use ICEcast to stream a continuous stream, e.g. they stream a live DJ or radio program. I.e. they setup a single encoder on a single audio stream. Still this logical stream contains different tracks being

Big bug in vorbis encoder?
I was just compressed a file with vorbis and I get a big glitch in the file when I play it back. Here's a picture of the sound (in SoundForge) before/after vorbis compression: http://www.artlum.com/pub/oggproblem.gif The top half of the image is the original wave file and the bottom half is the file after compression/decompression. The compressor was the latest Windows oggdrop, and I

Possible memory leak / xmms input plugin
Hi list, It seems that when playing several OggVorbis files under xmms, there is a memory leak. It's a rather annoying problem because when you have a playlist of 100+ files, xmms will at the end eat something like 100M or more.. Such a memory leak have been reported inside xmms-1.2.2 code and I could see it playing Ogg files and mp3 files ; upgrading to 1.2.3 solves the problem with mp3

The effects of encoding repeatedly
I just did this experiment where I took an audio clip, encoded it to Vorbis q4, decoded it to wav, and repeated several times. I also did the same with MP3 @ 128k. Here are the resulting files, if anyone is interested in the results. Clip1 is the first encoding, and Clip8 is the eighth. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/swmarks/vorbis/clip1.ogg
