ov_open/ov_test weirdness
Hi, I've been playing with a little player, and it seems I can't ov_open a file twice? heres a snipit... <p>#include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <errno.h> #include <vorbis/vorbisfile.h> OggVorbis_File vf; FILE *f = NULL; int main(int argc, char **argv) { char *file = NULL; int err = 0; if(argc < 2) {

merging monty's branch
Hi folks, I'm doing a merge of my current branch onto the mainline (for testing) today. I believe it to be stable. Just a little more vorbisfile testing. After the merge, I have a few more patches to apply, then onto cascading/coupling. New stuff: Floor backend 1 and residue backend 1; both are present, but the mainline modes won't use either yet. Naturally, both are enabled for

Massive Problems on Windows XP pro with Libvorbis[Vorbisfile]1.0.1
Hey there I'm using CodeWarrior8 for development on the windows platform and have been trying for some time now to add .ogg support to my engine project. First i had the problem quite a lot had out there with a crashing/freezing call to ov_open which i solved by recompiling those libs against the single-threaded variant of the core libs using VC++ 6 But now i have another problem. now every

VorbisFile library crashs.
Hello! There is a problem with the VorbisFile library. It only works when I open an OGG file for the 1st time. After I closed the file and try to open another one or the same it crashs. It seems it applies to the use of either ov_open or ov_test functions or their combination. I wrote a test app that illustrates the bug. It crashs with a message "Unmapped memory exception". It's

Can vorbisfile read comments from an HTTP stream
Just noticed this article on Slashdot: http://ask.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/05/18/0432202 ...about the feasibility and efficiency of reading id3v2 tags out of mp3's over http. I know that vorbisfile's callback model is well suited to handling this sort of scenario, but I'm curious to know whether ov_open will try to read enough stream to pull the comments out on a

retrieving &quot;instant&quot; bitrate without vo_open?
ok, I'm aware that vo_open cant be used at the same time as other functions such as ogg_sync_wrote, ogg_sync_pageout, ogg_stream_pagein, ogg_stream_packetout and vorbis_synthesis_headerin. In order to get information from the bitstream i've been using this method because it's fast and doesn't require decoding of the stream. But, i can only retrieve the average bitrate of

ov_raw_seek doesn't work ?
I found a problem with ov_raw_seek function in oggvorbis win32sdk 1.0. When i called this function it returned OV_EINVAL immediatelly. I solved the issue by replacing the ov_raw_seek by ov_pcm_seek, which worked perfectly, but i would like to use the raw variant due to performace reason . Is anybody aware of this strange behaviour ? Vorbisfile: non-seekable
Hi, I use the following code: if (ov_open(NULL, &vf, const_cast<char*>(reinterpret_cast<const char*>(get_data())), get_size()) < 0) error = 0x100; else { vorbis_info* vi = ov_info(&vf, -1); Cvirtual_file f; const int cb_samples = ov_pcm_total(&vf, -1); const bool seekable = ov_seekable(&vf); So all data is already in memory and passed to

ov_clear(&vorbis) segfaults?
Hello all. I'm new to this list. I'm also new to coding with libvorbis and things, so please bear with me. :) I've been having trouble with libvorbisfile. My use of it is fairly simple, but when I try to ov_clear the vorbis file, it segfaults. I can attach or otherwise make availible some demo source code, but for now I'll just pull out relevant lines: //BEGIN PSEUDO CODE

vorbisfile for Mac Classic
Hi, this is my first post, I hope it's the right mailing list (or should it be vorbis@xiph.org?) I just downloaded "SDK for MacOS9" and tried to compile the "vorbisfile_example.c" sample with CodeWarrior for Mac 8 on a Mac OS 9.2 machine. I included the libOgg and libVorbis libraries in my project, but the linker cannot file ov_clear(), ov_read(), ov_pcm_total(),

Anyone gotten qemu to operate in bride network mode on centos 4
I have been asking on the qemu list how to get bridge network mode working under centos 4... To no avail. The following script is what I have tried as my /etc/qemu-ifup. It supposedly worked for fedora. #!/bin/sh # # qemu_up # # script to bring up the tun device in QEMU in bridged mode # # This script bridges eth0 and tap0. First take eth0 down, then bring it up with IP 0.0.0.0 # /sbin/ifdown

Peak value
Hi, While testing ReplayGain (so it could be related to a bug), I noticed the following gain comments for a file: RG_PEAK=1.71580 RG_RADIO=-7.91 dB RG_AUDIOPHILE=-6.72 dB I've never seen such a large peak. Not that I've looked much, nor have I analyzed the file further. I just thought I should mention it. :) The file is the track Board Burner by Mixmaster Mike, available at:

Problem with vorbisfile_example from WIN32SDK
We compiled the vorbis_example from WIN32SDK with Borland 5.0 under WIN98. When running, it ends in an address violation caused by ov_open (or ov_test as well). This happens no matter which Library we're using, or if we're trying to read from stdin or a FILE*(which was binary). thanks, michael <p><p>_________________________________________________________________ MSN -

[Bridge] bride: IPv6 multicast snooping enhancements
Hi, Here are two, small feature changes I would like to submit to increase the usefulness of the multicast snooping of the bridge code. The first patch is an unaltered one I had submitted before, but since it got no feedback I'm resubmitting it here for net-next. With the recently added patch to disable snooping if there is no querier (b00589af + 248ba8ec05 + 8d50af4fb), it should be a safe

Thoughts on vorbisfile
Hi all, While reading through various bits of libvorbis and vorbisfile, and then thinking about how to implement other features in the xmms and winamp plugins, I had some thoughts... Vorbisfile is very useful, and very easy to use. It is, however, tied to stdio - which means you can't use it for lots of other stuff where it'd be useful - like streaming, or (under win32) avoiding stdio

Problems using vorbisfile.dll
Hello. Not certain this post belongs here, got a little confused about vorbis-dev / vorbis. If it doesn’t, please tell me so :) Well, on to the problem. I’m adding ogg support into an audio-player. For some reason I want it using vorbisfile threw the dll’s. It works just fine with the debug dll. No problems what so ever. But with the Retail dlls, when I call ov_open my memory gets messed up.

Problems with vorbisfile and files smaller than CHUNKSIZE
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I'm writing a simple application to decompress a set of Ogg files to raw PCM format, using vorbisfile, because that is the simplest way of doing it. These Ogg files are sounds for a game, and thus sometimes very short (about .25 s). However, vorbisfile has severe problems with Ogg files that are smaller than the CHUNKSIZE which is #defined
