I was under the impression that "PCM equalizer" means it only equalizes the PCM codec, i.e. WAV files. Have you noticed a significant quality improvement in the EQ for compressed media: MP3, Vorbis, MPC? I'm using the latest CVS source under Linux using a playlist of ogg files. When I use a client to connect on the same machine, there is not any disconnect (xmms and zinf). When using a client on a Windows machine, I get mixed results. Zinf on windows will play thru the current song but then stops when the song is finished and does not play the next song being streamed (see log below).

Hi Everyone, Has anyone come across problems listening back to Mp3 streams using VLC? The reason I ask is that we [ResonanceFM] stream at 128K and at 24K (using two different Icecast instances). I just wanted to know if anyone has noticed a difference between MP3 and OGG encoded files when having the Winamp equalizer switched on? I seem to be missing bass and the sound doesn't fill the room as much with OGG. With the EQ turned off there is no discernable difference between both LAME and Vorbis encoded files (both at an average of 192 kbps). Is this an error with the OGG Winamp plugin?

If You want to compile vorbis libraries under win32 environment you can experience some problems: 1) If you unzip vorbis libraries, you will have 3 directories: "libogg-1.0", "libvorbis-1.0" and "vorbis-tools-1.0". You need to rename them to "ogg", "vorbis", "vorbis-tools". Otherwise batch files or even dsp project files, won't work.
