Frames per packet?
Hi, Another newbie question. I'm trying to figure out how to fit vorbis into the Apple AudioCodec API and it asks your codec to be able to answer questions about itself. One I'm not sure about, does vorbis encode a fixed number of frames per packet for any given track? I know it's VBR, but that doesn't necessarily imply variable # of frames per packet. Thanks, -n8 --

Fwd: Newbie q: decoupling vorbis from ogg
From: Nathaniel Gray <n8gray@gmail.com> Date: Sep 14, 2005 11:30 AM Subject: Newbie q: decoupling vorbis from ogg To: vorbis-dev@lists.xiph.org Hi, Sorry if this is a newbie question. I'm trying to write an OS X AudioCodec for Vorbis using libvorbis. I'm confused about the libvorbis dependency on libogg. I thought the vorbis spec didn't require ogg as the container, but the

A small bit of extra info, how/why/what. Primary DNS suffix is used by your workstation as search suffix when you connect to a server. The connection DNS suffix can be used if the computer needs

sip+oh323 - no voice at sip side
Hello, I have something like this: SIPUSER <-sip-> ASTERISK <-oh323-> AUDIOCODEC <-e1-> PSTN After calling from SIP to PSTN (and from PSTN to SIP too) I can't hear anything only in my SIPUSER. At the PSTN side everything is OK. I have another network with another h323/sip (in the place of asterisk) and there everything is OK. In AUDIOCODES logs I see that everything goes

What for OS is the server and windows clients? The VPN tunnel, are you lowering MTU sizes? Something like: -A FORWARD -m policy --pol ipsec --dir in -s 192.168.0.0/24 -o eth1 -p tcp -m tcp --tcp-flags SYN,RST SYN -m tcpmss --mss 1361:1536 -j TCPMSS --set-mss 1360 On the client PC's, have you checkout the windows firewall and are you allowing the remote subnets. The samba server on the

--filter, missing in action.
I must be seriously misunderstanding the man page coverage of --filter. If I have a dir 'foo/' in the reciver with content 'bar' that I must keep and a 'foo/' on the sender side empty what could possibly be the best way to get the job done? Till now the filter option gone ignored.. Not to mention that at the moment (may be because my bad english, sorry!) I can not find the

Puppet and Windows ACLs (Access Control Lists)
tl;dr: Windows manages permissions in a way that doesn''t always translate well to mode. We''re putting together a solution for this. Jump in the discussion. I wanted to get this conversation started. We''ve put a lot of thought into how the model should look and focused on ease of use up to more advanced scenarios. However I don''t feel that what we have is

high frequencies response
Hi there In the past, i have used lame to encode high quality mp3-files (vbr 1, bitrate ~ 192kbit). I tend to switch to ogg with Quality 4 or 5, but i noticed, that many ogg-files tend to produce too much high frequencies response. In many cases, this is very noticeable. For my opinion, i cannot accept this worse frequence reponse. I have used latest version of ogg (OggEnc v1.0, precompiled

cdrw firmware update
Hello, I need to do a firmware update for my cdrw and because of a missing linux program for doing that I thought of using wine for trying it. I call the programm FlashTool.exe and no error messages occur. (The surface really looks great!) The programm detects correctly the flashable cdrw-drive even with ide-scsi and the non-flashable cdrom. But then when I click on "continue" nothing

Xiph Magic
Hi Folks, FWIW I figured out the /etc/magic file entries for both native and Ogg wrappered Speex, Vorbis and FLAC (attached). YMMV because the fields aren't necessarily in fixed positions in the files, but it works fine for me. Feel free to include it in the Xiph archives or forward it to the /etc/magic file maintainer once you're satisfied with it. John -------------- next part

How to send shutdown signal to UPS hardware?
I learned earlier from Roger Price's excellent explanation that a proper configuration includes sending a 'delayed shutdown' signal to the UPS hardware prior to shutting down the server. How is this accomplished? Does the USB driver handle this for us or must we do something additional? Thanks, Jeff Bowman Fairbanks, Alaska
