CVS "add" problem in ogg/doc
I was looking at the doc pages and noticed that the PNG files were corrupt. It looks like they were not added to CVS with "-kb" (binary) I re-converted the on-line GIF versions back to PNG, then are attached. I advise a cvs "remove", followed by cvs add -kb for these. -Chris <HR NOSHADE> <UL> <LI>image/png attachment: white-xifish.png </UL>

packets and OGG pages
Hello all, my name is Mathias, I'd like to ask about some details of the OGG format because I'm quite new to it. I'd like to write a native .NET library for reading and writing Vorbis comments. It's going to be open-sourced as soon as it's finished. So here it goes: 1) When packing (Vorbis) packets to OGG pages, does a new packet always begin on a fresh OGG page? Within the

Indexless interpolation search seeking code
http://www.xiph.org/ogg/doc/oggstream.html says: "An index is only marginally useful in Ogg for the complexity added; it adds no new functionality and seldom improves performance noticeably. Empirical testing shows that indexless interpolation search does not require many more seeks in practice than using an index would." I am keen to see seeking code which is almost as fast as

Raw/general purpose Ogg based container format?
(crossposted to theora-dev, since I thought some folks there might be interested) Hi all, Does anyone know of a ogg based container format that would be appropriate for holding raw AV data? I'm specifically interested in PCM audio, and uncompressed YV12 and RGB32 video. Basically looking to use it as a lightweight tool interchange format, generally muxed by mencoder and read/modified by

Reading OGG tags, without libvorbis?
I've written a simple combined HTTP/MP3/OGG server for streaming audio to clients, which is working well. It parses the tag information contained in MP3 files so that it can display files in a more descriptive fashion than 'filename.mp3', and now I'd like to do the same for OGG files. So that I don't need to impose a dependency I'd like to implement the parsing

chaining serial number
Hi, The documentation at http://www.xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/doc/oggstream.html tates that "Each chained logical bitstream must have a unique serial number within the scope of the physical bitstream" Doesn't this mean that the sequential multiplexed streams have same serial number? I am confused looking at the following code segment in vorbisfile.c

album cover art in .ogg?
I've added ogg support to my player app. Now I'd like to be able to write/read album cover art (jpg, png, what ever) out of the ogg file and display it, as I do with mp3s. This assumes that an album cover art picture can reside inside of an ogg file. I've read through the vorbis.com/faq.psp as well as the list archives and haven't found any direct answers. The section on comments

Saved streams
Hi all, A while back (Feb 11) Stephen Commiskey sent mail to this list with the subject : "Seeking in a saved stream; or, Why isn't that sucker valid?". Stephen had some problems with streams he saved from the BBC that gave him all sorts of weird errors and resulted in his not being able to seek in his saved streams. I tried the same thing immediately (never saved an oggstream

base64 ALBUMART vorbiscomment (was Re: [ogg-dev] Ogg/Spots and Ogg/MNG)
Beside that, multiplexed logical streams suffer from pretty bad software / hardware support, isn't it? It's better to display album art as text if the player doesn't recognize the base64 album art, than being unable to even play the file. ----- Urspr?ngliche Mail ---- Von: Kyungjun Lee <kjoonlee at gmail.com> An: xiphmont at xiph.org CC: vorbis-dev at xiph.org Gesendet:
