ogg-cdparanoia.py: small linux cd rip tool
Hi. I guess the world is full of these, one more won't hurt: "The ogg-cdparanoia script is a wrapper of the programs cdparanoia (http://www.xiph.org/paranoia/), sox (http://sox.sourceforge.net/) and oggenc (http://www.vorbis.com/). The process is simple: for each track, cdparanoia is called to extract the audio to a temporary wav file. Sox is used on it to see if it is normalized.

Where's the tool to do .ogg bitrate "peeling"?
Hello. The page http://www.vorbis.com/faq.psp (last faq) and http://cs.leander.isd.tenet.edu/~mitchell/vorbis_intro.html both state that it's possible to lower the bitrate of an existant ogg enc file without reencoding. Where does this feature exists? oggenc only likes wav files as input, how can I feed it an .ogg file and get a lower bitrate in a new one? -- Grzegorz Adam Hankiewicz

EAC: Ogg-on-the-fly?
I was wondering, is there a way to encode Oggs with EAC on-the-fly? I'm looking for a way to shorten the whole ripping and encoding process, but so far I've only seen support for the commandline encoder. -- GMX - Die Kommunikationsplattform im Internet. http://www.gmx.net <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage:

Dovecot hangs randomly
I have been run into a weird problem with dovecot. We have 4 identical servers running dovecot, serving both IMAP and POP3 clients. Every few hours, clients start timing out after the PASS command. Here is what the process tree looks like at that time: 6718 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/sbin/dovecot 6719 ? S 0:00 \_ dovecot-auth 6881 ? S 0:00 | \_ dovecot-auth 6883

Trouble connecting to apc smart 1500 via serial cable
Hello. I've been running a two machine setup with a mge-shut for some time without problems, and now I'm configuring a three machine setup with an APC Smart 1500. The UPS has three machines connected to it, in a peculiar way: one windows machine is connected via USB. The second windows machine is using an agent to monitor messages from the first windows machine. Then, I have a GNU/Linux

Python Module
All (Newbie Alert) A python interface for the Vorbis library would cheer up a lot of Python developers working on jukebox and streaming audio projects. I have some capability here, but before I start hacking around with the library: Has anyone else attempted a Python module? Should I wait for a new cut of the code before even starting? [PATCH 0/5] VT-d support for PV guests
Hi, I''ve added some preliminary support for VT-d for paravirtualized guests. This must be enabled using an ''iommu_pv'' boot parameter (disabled by default). I''ve added some python bindigs to allow xend to assign PCI devices to IOMMU for PV guests. For HVM guests this is handled in ioemu. Not sure if it makes sense to handle both cases in one place. The

Mysterious Javascript showing up & trashing page
Every time I edit a particular page, a bit of javascript myseteriously shows up when I save it. After that, the page does not lie correctly, and the items at the end of the list are covered over by elements from the stylesheet. The script is as follows: <p>&nbsp; </p> <p align="center"><font face="Times New Roman"><font

legend in image()
System info: Linux slackware R Version 1.5.1 (2002-06-17) ESS 5.1.21 Emacs 21.2.1 ------------------- Colleagues Is there a way to add a legend to an image plot? I don't see any reference to legends in the documentation (so I suppose the answer is no?). Although the documentation says image takes plot() parameters, it isn't clear to me how the usual use of legend in a plot command

Alternativa a RStudio

[LLVMdev] GSOC2012 idea: Python bindings for LLVM
Hello all, I notice in previous gsocs of LLVM , there is no projects about language bindings for LLVM. Does that mean it has lower priority than other projects? Current python bindings for LLVM in the trunk are far from complemte. So I would like to improve python bindings for LLVM this summer if possible. My work will be based on llvm-py project ( http://code.google.com/p/llvm-py/). I obtained

I'm cc:-ing my reply to xapian-devel, since others may have an opinion. In particular, James has probably done most work on the python bindings.
