[Flac-users] CD archival best practices?
Goals:
1. Store meta data
2. Be able to recreate and burn bit-for-bit accurate audio CDs from
archive.
3. Be able to "generate" lossy format files (OggVorbis,MP3,etc) with
meta info intact when needed.
4. One file per song.
5. Files playable in XMMS and WinAMP3.
Questions:
Q1. OGG vs FLAC container?
Q2. Meta data format?
Q3. In detail, how does one do goal 2?
Q4. What ripping/encoding

Reasonable -- I am a co-organizer of RIOT and spent 10 years building real-time Java virtual machines.
My conclusion: no one cares. :-(

RIOT 2020
If people want to create a new interpreter (for R or any other
data-driven programming language), or do something closely related
(such as adapt an existing interpreter), I think a better strategy
would be to focus on real time computing.
I note that Oracle who appears to be sponsoring this event, also
acquired ChorusOS (via their acquisition of Sun). I think they should
release ChorusOS under an

Desktop Filesystem Benchmarks in 2.6.3
Unfortunately it is a bit more complex, and the truth is less
complementary to us than what you write. Reiser4's CPU usage has come
down a lot, but it still consumes more CPU than V3. It should consume
less, and Zam is currently working on making writes more CPU efficient.
As soon as I get funding from somewhere and can stop worrying about
money, I will do a complete code review, and

Renaming a LVM LV (where is vol-edit??)
Hello,
I'm using a LVM storage pool. I renamed a guest and I would like to
change the LV name to match to avoid future confusion.
How do i do this? There is no vol-edit command (fully updated RHEL6).
Thanks,

[PATCH] xen: Fix memory hotplug epfn upper limit test for updating the compat M2P table
The epfn is being compared to (RDWR_COMPAT_MPT_VIRT_END - RDWR_COMPAT_MPT_VIRT_START) without a 2 bit shift, resulting in the epfn being compared to the size of the RDWR_COMPAT_MPT table in bytes instead of the maximum page frame number that the RDWR_COMPAT_MPT table can map.

Request for support: add Vorbis to RioVolt CD player
I just recently got myself the SonicBlue RioVolt Mp3/WMA CD player, which
has upgradeable firmware.
I've sent a request to:
customersupport@diamondmm.com
asking them to add support for Ogg Vorbis in the next release of their
firmware, so that it will be able to read Ogg CDs
and display its tags properly.
It would be great if others could e-mail the same address and ask for the

Re: SR-IOV Pool Availability
I have an Intel X540 SR-IOV NIC in a box with ACS support running RHEL6.4.
Hi Hongming, I'm hoping you can please help with two issues:
1. The pool works, but I transparent VLAN with the pool does not. I
have to manually run "ip" afterwards to get it to work.

[PATCH] VTD/Intremap: Disable Intremap on Chipset 5500/5520/X58 due to errata
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/chipsets/5520-and-5500-chipset-ioh-specification-update.html
Stepping B-3 has two errata (#47 and #53) related to Interrupt
remapping, to which the workaround is for the BIOS to completely disable
interrupt remapping. These errata are fixed in stepping C-2.
Unfortunately this chipset is very common and many BIOSes are not
disabling remapping. We can
