OpenSSL + OpenSSH version problems
Hello all,
OpenSSL 0.9.5a and 0.9.6 are incompatible, causing weird errors.
I'd like to get a check for this in the RPMs.
However, now I want to make sure whether anyone has experienced problems
with RHL 0.9.5a OpenSSL libs vs. the 0.9.5a ones provided at openbsd.org?
Ie: is it enough to check like '= 0.9.5a' or do you have to check '=
0.9.5a-xyz'.

bug?: building RPM of 2.5.1p1 uses wrong pam.d/ssh file for RH6 vs RH7
(I'm using RedHat 6.2 and openssl-0.9.5a-3)
After rebuilding binary RPMs using openssh-2.5.1p1-1.src.rpm, I was unable
to ssh in to a system upgraded to the new openssh-server-2.5.1p1.rpm
After the failure, /var/log/messages on the destination indicated lots of
PAM errors of the form "sshd[22814]: PAM

Taking file from pyhsical disk to new virtual disk
Hi
I am playing with virtualization on centos 5.
I have an old redhat 7 system I still need so I want to virtualize it.
I found the old disk, installed in the virtual environment but found
I had done some additions WAY back.
I want to be sure my virtual system is exactly the same as the ACTUAL
system.
Do I use cpio on the actual system to grab everything and then put that
back on the

Boot into operating system after PXE boot
Hi all,
I would like to check with you all if the following is possible:
I'd like to combine G4L (Ghost clone) with PXE (been done before) but in such a way that an option in LDAP is checked after booting with PXE. If it's set, a certain program is executed with certain parameters (G4L), if not, the PC should continue to boot in it's installed operating system.
Is the latter

Clone a custom CentOS 7 desktop using G4L over FTP
Hi,
A couple months ago, I migrated our local school (two servers, 20
desktop clients) from Slackware 14.1 to CentOS 7. The desktop clients
are running a customized lightweight desktop based on Xfce:
https://blog.microlinux.fr/poste-de-travail-xfce-centos-7/
Home directories are all on the server, and authentication is
centralized. Everything works fine so far.
With Slackware I had found a

How reliable is XFS under Gluster?
Hello,
I am in the point of picking up a FS for new brick nodes. I was used to
like and use ext4 until now but I recently red for an issue introduced by a
patch in ext4 that breaks the distributed translator. In the same time, it
looks like the recommended FS for a brick is no longer ext4 but XFS which
apparently will also be the default FS in the upcoming RedHat7. On the
other hand, XFS is being

Linux and HDT looking systems?
I've got a user of my g4l project that is having a system that locks with my
kernels, but also with hdt? The default versions are using the 5.10 version of
syslinux, but build a special setup using 6.02 and it still locks with both the
kernels and the hdt? He was able to get gparted i486 live iso to boot on the
machine, so not clear what the issue might be.
The system is a Fujitsu T734

g4l and centos
Has anyone used g4l (ghost for linux) with centos 4.2 or 4.X?
I just tried it with RAW mode, it made the image on my
ftp server, I then tried to restore it, seemed like it went ok,
tried to reboot and it starts up looks like it is going to work
but then something is not right? I am not even sure how to explain
what is not right.
can you share your steps.
Thanks,
Jerry

RPM spec file
Hi,
To to build an RPM from the nut 2.0.3 source I've corrected the old
nut.spec.in file. Please find a copy of the slightly updated spec file
attached. The changes are documented at the bottom of the spec file.

Will

RPM of R-1.2.1 for RH 7?
There does not seem to be a RPM for Red Hat 7 of version 1.2.1.
What should I do? I have a new computer with RH7.
I''m willing to try to make one from the SRPM, but I''ve never done
that before, and I don''t want to go to the trouble if someone
else is already planning to do it soon.
Likewise, I could install it from the tgz file. (I just did that

CentOS7 and NFS
The number of threads has nothing to do with the number of cores on the machine. It depends on the I/O, network speed, type of workload etc.
We usually start with 32 threads and increase if necessary.
You can check the statistics with:
watch 'cat /proc/net/rpc/nfsd | grep th?
Or you can check on the client
nfsstat -rc

No network on cloned CentOS 7 installation
Hi,
I have a few identical Dell Optiplex 7010 machines that I want to use
for our school's computer room. I tried to clone these installations
(like I did before on CentOS 5 and various versions of Slackware), but
this time I ran into a problem.
Here's what I did.
1. Install one computer and zero unused hard disk sectors with dd.
2. Send the image to a local FTP server using G4L

I?m using samba 4.11 from sernet and the vfs object full_audit.
After update samba to 4.12 from sernet full_audit is broken and the shares with full_audit are not accessible.
Can anyone tell me please how to install python 3 on centos7 while the Centos system needs python 2 but samba sould use python3?
Thanks in advance,
