Ogg icons / glyphs -- use of copyrighted images?
Do we have a standard icon and/or glyphs identified for GUI-based
applications?
I'm adding Vorbis support to CDMaster32 and I'm finding I'm in need of 17x17
glyphs (.bmp) to graphically show progress of OGG files.
Has anyone thought about this?
If not I was thinking of modifying/reducing the Xiphophorus "fish" logo to
use in my application; however, since the xiph www site

Win32 DLL
I've put together a first cut for a Win32 DLL using the BladeEnc interface.
Right now, it's just a drop-in replacement for BladeEnc.dll that ignores all
encoding parameters passed to it and uses the info_A vorbis_info struct
(same as the encoder_example).
It's not particularly useful as of yet, but you can rename it to
BladeEnc.dll and use it with any number of rippers out there

FAQ updated to new bitrates?
I was looking at the Vorbis FAQ at
http://www.vorbis.com/faq.psp#bitrate
and noticed that the FAQ appears to be outdated and still shows Beta2
bitrate limitations.
When will the FAQ be updated to Beta4 or RC1?
What are the officially supported bitrates under Beta4 / RC1?

Vorbis / Delphi Question
Hi all.
I just downloaded the vorbisdll_bin.zip file from the archive, which
appears to be the complete libvorbis in DLL format. This is wonderful
news, as I was trying to convert the C library to a Delphi library by hand,
and it was very slow in going.
The only question I have is has anyone translated the necessary structures
from C to Delphi yet? I noticed in the list that someone

Excessive chaining or multiple comboot files
Does SysLinux support multiple comboot files in combination with a
bootsector load?
Here's what I'm thinking of doing but cannot seem to find a piece of
software which will allow me to do what I need.
Basically; I need/want to write several small programs which execute before
the OS takes control.
Today; I have a "bootloader" which copies the original bootsector to an

[LLVMdev] LLVM to Gcc tree convertor
I know the current gcc based frontend converts llvm trees to gcc trees.
Is anyone working on a backend for llvm that generates gcc trees ?
It would at least be intresting since you can run all the llvm passes
and all the gcc passes. I'm not sure at what level you would want to
generate generic ssa ??

Off Topic - Image size convertor?
I''ve been googling around, and have found a lot of tools to convert
images to the right pixel size - anyone have a good command line based
one for linux?
Also, how do you issue a command from a rails app?
Thanks,

CBDTPA
Hi,

CD Burner that supports .ogg files?
Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to the world of Vorbis, but after hearing
the sound comparisons I was sold. I've recently begun a massive
undertaking of ripping all my CD's to hard disk in preparation for the
home theater PC that I'm in the process of building. I am a couple of
hundred CD's into this and I came across one small problem, I can't find
any CD burning software

vcut(1) and its manpage
Below is a diff to vcut.c and its vcut.1 manpage, which
- rewrites the manpage in the mdoc(7) markup
as offered in my previous message, and while there:
- drops the [] around cutpoint as it is _not_ optional
- adds the [] around [+] as it _is_ optional
- drops the argument name difference between "cutpoint" and "cuttime"
- adds the usage sentence about "." output

disk partitioning thoughts
In the past I basically used 3 partitions for hard drives.
partition 1: was all centos (typically 20G)
partition 2: was swap (typically 2*RAM - 2G)
partition 3: was everything else I wanted, needed or carded about,
database files etc...
Now with really big drives coming along 750G and 1T
partition 3 is getting big. Except for time to format is there a problem
with that???
I'm not really

Some thoughts on win32-changenotify
Hi all,
As things stand now, you can do something like this with
win32-changenotify:
require "win32/changenotify"
include Win32
filter = ChangeNotify::FILE_NAME | ChangeNotify::DIR_NAME |
ChangeNotify::LAST_WRITE
cn = ChangeNotify.new("c:\\",false,filter){
puts "Something changed"
}
cn.wait
You can pass a block that''s executed when a change occurs, but

win32-taskscheduler thoughts
I''ve updated taskscheduler.c and taskscheduler.h. The method names are now
more Ruby-like (though I have to change a couple yet), and I''ve shortened
the constant names, as well as moved the constants over to the .h file.
I was thinking we should merge a few of these methods. I think
"set_target_computer" and "new_work_item" could both be rolled into the

Thoughts on Shorewall 2.0
I''ve begun to think about 2.0. I would like to hear any ideas about what
you would like to see included. Before I decide what new things will be
implemented though, I want to nail down what WON''T be included. Here is my
list:
a) Old Ping Handling. There won''t be any ''noping'' or ''forwardping''
interface options and there
