libvorbis config error
Hi all. I found some references to a problem similar to mine in the archives, but none of the solutions posed there worked, so I'm left to ask again. I'm running Debian 2.2r5, libc6, and as far as I know all other necessary libraries for compilation. libao and libogg compile and install fine, but when I try run ./configure for libvorbis, it fails and says it can't find libogg.

libvorbis configure script fails on Irix
Hello, I'm trying to compile libogg, libvorbis, libao, and vorbis-tools on an SGI Octane running Irix6.5.22. libogg configures and compiles without a problem. I installed it in usr/local/lib. When I moved on to libvorbis trouble began. The configure script made the following complaint: checking for Ogg... 12269:./conftest: rld: Error: unresolvable symbol in ./conftest:

Re: ogg123
I'm forwarding this on to the Vorbis users list because though it was initially addressed to me it's not really a problem I can deal with (though I give a few suggestions and discussion below anyway, of questionable accuracy). This was initially from a query to me about ogg123 WAV to stdout, but upon reply I got this in addition to discussion about WAV outuput, so I've cut this out

oggpack_writealign fails
Hi all, In order to get icecast working i found that i had to install libao-0.8.4 libogg-1.1 libvorbis-1.0.1 flac-1.1.0 speex-1.0.3 vorbistools-1.0.1 icecast-2.0.0 So i grapped the source files. I copied all the files to an 32-bit Intel machine, and *there* all files configured, compiled and installed OK But on the intended target machine (SUN blade server) i have a problem... libao and libogg

Statically linked ices0
Hi, I'm trying to statically link ices0, but the configure scripts isn't really agreeing with me. When I do this: ./configure --prefix=/radio/server --enable-shared=no --enable-static=yes --without-perl --without-vorbis --without-faad --without-flac I still get a dynamically linked binary (linked to a lot of stuff I specified I didn't want, but that's besides the point): ldd

libao NAS compilation and playback issues
I saw that libao has a NAS plugin and wanted to try it out, especially with ogg123. However, I had/have several problems. My platform is Solaris 9/SPARC 12/02, NAS 1.6, libao 0.8.5, curl 7.10.8, libogg 1.1, libvorbis 1.0.1, and vorbis-tools 1.0.1. PROBLEM ONE: ------------ I had to specify LDFLAGS="-lXt -lsocket -lm" before running ./configure with "--enable-nas" in order

Some comments about beta4
Hi, I've just tried Ogg/Vorbis for the first time, and I'm quite impressed with the results. I haven't heard any artifacts in my tests so far, even at -b 112 (but I'm not a trained listener). Thanks for the great work! Now, some (mostly minor) points: When building libvorbis on either a Linux/libc5 or a Solaris system, both with gcc, it failed with undefined references to logf()

Readline problem.
This question relates, at least vaguely, to recent postings from me concerning my attempts to build R-1.5.1 under Solaris 2.7. I've more or less given up on this, and I and a colleague are attempting to build R-1.5.1 on another machine in our Department, and are getting a ***different*** problem. libdl and building under NetBSD
I am trying to configure vorbis-tools-1.0beta. (I already built libvorbis, libao, and libogg.) This is under NetBSD 1.5.1_ALPHA i386. My plan is to create NetBSD packages for Ogg Vorbis. My config.log has: configure:1897: gcc -o conftest -I/usr/local/include -I/usr/local/include -L/usr/local/lib/ -L/usr/pkg/emul/linux/ conftest.c -L/usr/local/lib -lao -ldl 1>&5 /usr/bin/ld: cannot

Compiling vorbis-tools on FreeBSD
Hi there, I'm having some problems compiling vorbis-tools on FreeBSD 4.2-STABLE. My configure line is ./configure --with-ogg-prefix=/usr/local \ --with-vorbis-prefix=/usr/local \ --with-ao-prefix=/usr/local --prefix=/usr/local I have to put the --prefixes in because I don't know how to tell the compiler to look in /usr/local/include instead of just in /usr/include. Without the

Compile errors 3.0.4 solaris 8
I had sent this email earlier and received no responses. Hopefully I am not being repetitive. This is the first time I have used the list. I will send it again. Since the message was sent I removed all the software I have installed and re-installed it to no avail. I don't know if the compile problems are the root cause or its just the Windows folks (within my org) are not playing nice,

Short block test
Frank Klemm made the clip to test short block switching - it's made of series of short periodical 'pulses', and this period gets smaller as time passes. You can get this file at: http://www.uni-jena.de/~pfk/Short_Block_Test.wav.gz.gz (1.6MB) (uncompress it twice with gzip) I used oggenc beta3 & mp+ 1.7.8 Oggenc gave 160kbps using mode -b 256 mp+ gave 350kbps (using
