libvorbis compile failure
The latest CVS update of libvorbis fails to compile on SuSE Linux 6.4. The
error is below.
Also, what happened to the xmms plugin directory in cvs? It complains that
it is missing when I do a 'cvs update'.

libvorbisfile dynamic linkage with pkg-config - inter-library dependencies?
Audacity is preparing to release version 2.0.6 shortly, so I have been
doing numerous test builds. Since the last Audacity release, my
development system (Gentoo Linux) has updated to libvorbis-1.3.4 and
libogg-1.3.1.
As a result (I think) of this, I now get link errors when
trying to compile Audacity against the system copies of libogg and
libvorbis (standard dynamic linkage to the system

Libvorbis documentation.
Greetings,
On the official documentation page,
http://www.xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/docs.html, there are links to the
documents describing the released libraries, ie. libvorbis, vorbisfile
and vorbisenc. However, the first one is not a link at all, although I
seem to remember that it was so earlier.
I also downloaded the SDK for Mac OSX, which sorta contains a
documentation for libvorbis, but

Vorbis encoding using JavaScript
Hello,
First of all, I am a complete newblet to anything dealing with audio (a lot
of the vocabulary is still rather mysterious to me). I also don't often
program in C so please don't throw too many stones if my workflow is less
than ideal. :)
I would like to port the vorbis encoder to JavaScript. Instead of porting
everything by hand from ground up, which would take who-knows-how-long,

Random Writes
Hi,
It is possible to do random writes into an ogg vorbis bitstream? If so,
how would I do that with libvorbis/vorbisenc?

OK, I built libshout from CVS and it seems to be installed OK under
/usr/local/lib
Now, with respect to ices, I've got as far as
./autogen.sh
./configure
BUT, when I run 'make' I get an error:
encode.c: In function 'encode_initialise':
encode.c:91 storage size of 'ai' isn't

libvorbis help
Hi all,
I'm a bit new to using libvorbis, and was hoping for some help with something.
I am trying to take a buffer of PCM audio data, and encode it into a
vorbis stream without blocking. In other words, the sound data is
generated dynamically and continuously by my program, and it needs to
convert this data into an ogg file without disrupting the program.
I can already do this with shell

vorbis-tools configure
Hi guys,
I'm trying to compile vorbis-tools with libvorbis-aotuvb5. The problem is that
installed libvorbis conflicts with myself-compiled libvorbis-aotuvb5, though
I specified --with-vorbis-libraries and --with-vorbis-includes to the
vorbis-tools configure:
vorbis-tools-1.1.1#
CFLAGS="-static" ./configure

using win32 static libs
hi,
i hope this is not too "newbie-ish" but i've never programmed with static libs before.
i've downloaded the win32sdk and try to build a simple wav->ogg/vorbis encoder, but the linker complained about several redefinitions.
environment is visual studio .net 2003 on winxp and a standard mfc-app set up by this project-wizzard that comes with vs.net2003 using the default

Docs Missing
Hi All,
The "libvorbisenc api reference" (http://www.xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/doc/vorbisenc/reference.html) exists, but appears to be the libvorbisfile api reference. Is there anywhere where I can find the "libvorbisenc api reference"?
Cheers

RC3 Changes needed for MacOS
It looks like the Mac .exp files were not updated for RC3.
The following diff corrects that problem. The CodeWarrior
project files also have not been updated. They are in 5.3
format which is quite old. Would anybody object if I
submitted updates to them in CodeWarrior Pro 6 format?
That's the oldest version I have readily available.
If someone else has 5.3 and wants to do it, you need to

vorbisenc creates silent ogg files on ARM EABI
Hi
Sorry, the reason I joined the list is for help finding a bug that
occurs when libvorbisenc is compiled and run on ARM EABI systems
(current Debian, Gentoo, OpenEmbedded etc).
The symptom is that oggenc produces shorter ogg files than it should
(about 1/2 size) that decode to the correct duration but of total
silence.
libvorbis/examples/encoder_example does the same on these systems, but

cvs trunk vorbis/ compile patches
ltconfig placeholder shoud be removed.
Makefile.am : some stuff copied from branch_beta3
ogg lib must be added only where necesary.
vq subdir Makefile.am'ized, (but installs nothing)
made distclean target slightly more clean
-- check it by hand first, please ---
also you'll want to remove vq/Makefile if the ...am passes inspection

win32: Encoder using vorbisenc.dll - AV?
Hello,
When I compile either oggenc or encoder_example with static libraries, they
work fine, but when I try them with the dynamic libraries, I get an access
violation in vorbisenc.dll with both oggenc and encoder_example. Can anyone
on win32 confirm this?
It's strange because vorbisfile.dll *does* work with vorbisfile_example,
and the configuration for vorbisfile.dll is exactly the same
