Simple Vorbis Players...
This might be off topic for this list, I apologize if it is. I am currently looking for a *very simple* Ogg Vorbis player to help me in developing one of my own (for a thesis project). I would actually settle for any simple audio player that plays a compressed format (MP3, or whatever) so I can see some active demonstrations of playing PCM buffers through waveOut of DirectSound

Audio Output for Ogg Vorbis Player
Hello, I am writing a program that decodes Ogg Vorbis and output to the hardware. I followed the decoding examples and got the bytes ready for output. I am looking for an audio output library on Windows. So far, I tried at DirectSound but it is quite complicated and requires lots of set up. I have several questions: 1. Does Libao work on Windows? 2. And Is there a simpler audio output library?

win32 driver for libao
Hi there. Sorry I may be a little off topics with this mail but I have already written to the official libao maintainer (volsung@xiph.org) and he is the one who suggest me to write here. As I did not see any more suitable mailing list @xiph.org here I am. My point is that I have recently written a win32 driver for the libao and I would be glad to see this contribution include to the official

[paul@mail.me.maar.nu: Building vorbis-tools without libao]
Again, Hi All, Thanks for your replies. I probably should've mentioned that I'm not subscribed to the list but I found your answers on the archives. I just wanted to go on record and mention that I do in fact have all the original CD's and that by re-encoding I meant repeating the entire process of ripping the original CD's (with cdparanoia (of course ;)) and then encoding them

AW: Ogg Vorbis and DirectSound streaming
BTW: You can pass also the float32 data directly to DirectSound instead of doing the conversion (float32->int16) yourself. patches to beta 4 spec files
Hi, Attached are patches for the beta 4 distribution, fixing minor problems in RPM spec files. One question: are there any reasons not to include vorbiscomment in the vorbis-tools binary package? I've added the long-awaited utility program into the revised spec file, but I wonder if it is a wrong change... Regards, -- KAJIYAMA, Tamito <kajiyama@grad.sccs.chukyo-u.ac.jp> diff -ru

Re: about cubase and asio...
Firstly, I want to thank you for finding some way for Cubase Studio 4.1.2 to work with Wine. I currently own Cubase 4 and it is the only thing keeping me from moving to Ubuntu. If I can get Cubase 4.5.2 to work with my Audiophile 2496 on Ubuntu (and it work well), I can finally ditch Vista. Reulle, since you've tested Cubase Studio 4.1.2 successfully, have you run into any further issues,

Building vorbis-tools without libao
Hi All, For my new file (and thus mp3) server I've decided to switch completely to Ogg Vorbis. This means having to reencode ~30GB worth of 128Kb MP3's, but i figured that it would all be worth the effort. So I downloaded the sources for libogg, libvorbis and vorbis-tools and fired up my trusty old compiler. libogg and libvorbis built and installed like a charm. Not so for

Compiling vorbis-tools on NetBSD-1.5/i386
[This mail is a bit long: sorry.] Hi, I have been trying to compile vorbis-tools-1.0beta4 on NetBSD-1.5/i386, and I get the following: --------------------- Upon typing ./configure --prefix=/usr/pkg/ --with-ogg-prefix=/usr/pkg/ --with-vorbis-prefix=/usr/pkg/ --with-ao-prefix=/usr/pkg/ checking for Ogg... yes checking for Vorbis... yes checking for ao... no *** Could not run

Running Cubase with wine - HOW?
I am completely new to Linux and Wine. I've tried to make Wine work since some 1999, but never had patience with it. Tried reading guides, manuals and so on, but things did not work. All Linux versions I've tried have never run any windows-based programs after I installed Wine (and used to install a propper version of wine - that corresponds to Linux version) - what I did is what is said

vorbis-tools ./configure problems libao2 posix threads
Hello, I have just subscribed to this list so please forgive me if this question is misplaced. I am trying to build vorbis-tools on Darwin 10.4 using SVN. I am having some real problems getting the configure script to satisfy the dependencies needed for ogg123 support (which I definitely want). The problems are:- Firstly configure wants libao and libcurl and POSIX Threads. I installed

Vorbis works on Mac OS X Public Beta now
I have got libao up to oggenc and ogg123 working on Mac OS X Public Beta now. I'd like to submit patches, but last time I did, they never got committed by anyone. Who is in charge of committing stuff? Does someone want to nominate themselves to review and commit my patches? The patches are briefly: - On Mac OS X dlopen() is not very well supported, so libao has been cleaned up a bit to
