AGAIN: ogg123/ogg123.c of vorbis-tools causes error on FreeBSD
In the vorbis-tools of the 20010710 version of CVS snapshot, ogg123/ogg123.c causes error on FreeBSD: <sys/types.h> is required. This *HAS NOT BEEN FIXED SINCE THE 20010601 VERSION*. I would appreciate if you just add an #include line - or let me know why you do not want to do so. // Kenji Rikitake *** ogg123.c.FCS Sun Apr 8 11:33:08 2001 --- ogg123.c Sat Jun 2 00:40:08 2001

a few questions
>http://www.m4if.org/resources.html > See also http://www.mpeg4ip.net/ which has a lot of open source and available MPEG-4 code available. The licensing issue is still a mess, although they hope to make it at least coherent "real soon now". Use at your own risk. BTW, there is no MP4. The equivalent audio codec is the Dolby AAC. [Fwd: Re: File formats (RE: MP4 Player Available for Download)]
I recall reading that all MPEG AAC software has different and incompatible file formats , because this is a condition set by the MPEG AAC technology licensing authority. Some kind of yet-another-anti-piracy-measure, the idea probably being that users of different software can not swap their files. I picked up this a while ago when following AAC software development, but can't remember exactly

.leap.seconds
I glanced at the .leap.seconds object and noticed that it has not been updated for the most recent leap second that occurred 2005 December 31, 23h 59m 60s. See the IERS bulletin here: http://hpiers.obspm.fr/iers/bul/bulc/bulletinc.dat Moreover, after a more careful glance at the .leap.seconds object, I noticed that there are two incorrect entries. First, there was not a leap second on 1986 June

moving drives containing bricks from one server to another
hi, I did not see a reply to my problem. Let me ask it in a different way... If I have bricks from a previous glusterfs volume and that volume is now gone because of the old machine was replaced, now I tried to create a new volume and add the old bricks to the new volume with the "force" opinion to "volume create". The old data files are still in the bricks but when I mount

Dear All, We aim to remove the spatial structure of our data using Moran Eigen Vectors and spdep package . Our data has 3694 samples and 13 variables. The computer stop working after almost 4 days of processing (we found it emitting a sharp sound and with all colors on the screen. No wories, it was restared without problem!). And we are left with nothing: no result file was produced since the

moving drives containing bricks from one server to another
Hi, I have a gluster volume with bricks spread over several physical drives. I now want to upgrade my server to a new system and plan to move the drives from the old server to the new server, with a different host name and IP address. Can I shut down the gluster volume on the old server, move and install the physical drives containing the bricks to the new server, and then create a new gluster

Fraunhoffer claims patents on other formats
Here in the uk, to get a patent on anything, you have to prove that the patent is not obvious and that there is no prior art. If there is prior art, then a patent cannot be given, this is why people patenting stuff have to keep it a secret until they actually have the patent, otherwise it is considered to have been released into the public domain. Once something is in the public domain, nobody

[LLVMdev] RFA: Alignment of Strings
One of our developers pointed out that GCC generates something akin to this on Darwin: $ cat t.c __private_extern__ void bar(const char *format, ...) __attribute__ ((format (printf, 1, 2))); void foo(const char *i, const char *b) { bar("this is some error message that is kind of longish."); } $ gcc -arch i386 -S -o - t.c -Os .cstring .align 2 LC0: .ascii "this is some
