oggmerge working, Ogg MIDI is here
Ok guys, I just committed the Ogg MIDI code to ogg-tools/oggmerge. You can now make synced vorbis+midi Oggs, but there is (not yet anyway) a tool to play such files. Have a look at the code, and let me know if you see anything major. Adding new media types for merging should be trivial, and you already have two examples (the vorbis one is VERY simple and the MIDI one is much more complicated)

Ogg MIDI proposal
This is a proposal for Ogg MIDI streams. It will also help other stream additions to Vorbis, as they should follow a similar model. Ralph has done much of the work on this, and also is working on MNG Ogg streams. Background ---------- I was contracted to do this work, so even if you can't think of a use for this, there is one ;) Basically with midi in Ogg, we can have a synchronized

[PATCH] oggmerge, various
Hi, seems my previous post ended up in /dev/null due to being too large, so this update is now gzipped.. Adds support for Theora, Kate, and Speex. Checks magic on og[avxg] files Fixes pointer bug in vorbis packetizer makes the mng bit build Can't recall the other little bits it does off the top of my head. and the newest addition is a skeleton track (for Theora, Kate, Speex, and Vorbis).

album cover art in .ogg?
I've added ogg support to my player app. Now I'd like to be able to write/read album cover art (jpg, png, what ever) out of the ogg file and display it, as I do with mp3s. This assumes that an album cover art picture can reside inside of an ogg file. I've read through the vorbis.com/faq.psp as well as the list archives and haven't found any direct answers. The section on comments

[PATCH] liboggplay - kate support, build fixes, and misc
> I think you forgot to include oggplay-uninstalled.pc.in in the patch :-) Attached, plus the oggplay.pc.in as well, as I added @KATE_CFLAGS@ to both. Also attached is a patch to avoid miscounting the number of active tracks (a bug in my previous patch), and the current patch to the mozilla plugin (still work in progress, the Javascript API will change a little) if anyone feels like

chained files and winamp / vcedit
When I create a chained file with a mono and then a stereo substream, winamp crashes when it gets to the second stream. in_vorbis v1.16c. And when vcedit writes comments from a chained file, it only saves the first substream and throws subsequent streams away. Perhaps this is woth mentioning somewhere... AW: embedded pictures in vorbis comments?
Hi, I think we can start by defining an official field name at www.xiph.org/vorbis/doc/v-comment.html which is used as a file system link to an existing image file. I suggest the field name to be "PICTURE". What is ogg MNG? Is it a container format for PNG files which should be embedded in OGG files? If I understand correctly, the picture would be placed in a different logical stream

[PATCH] liboggplay - kate support, build fixes, and misc
Hi, I've added kate support to liboggplay (a prerequisite to getting kate tracks to work with the mozilla plugin, which I've now got working on Linux). In addition to the Kate code: - a new oggplay-uninstalled.pc file - configure.ac checks for C++ compiler - no check for fishsound version - it wanted 0.8.0, but the svn itself was 0.7.1 !? - don't use imlib2 (nor dump-first-frame) if

They could, but would change the API, and the implementation just returns a "not implemented" error currently if HAVE_KATE is undefined, (and a couple checks for validity) so it's not much

Detecting silence
Completely new topic, and perhaps more important than it might appear just at a casual glance, if one hasn't been thinking about -- and really wanting to write -- some possible future (istic?) applications (as i have . . . and do). What i would like to have, which would _very_ much simplify what's involved in writing the code for certain things i have in mind, is (let me just say this and

putting the video into ogg multimedia
With both vorbis and libmng nearing stable status, I've been thinking about combining the two to make a real multimedia format. What would be involved in embedding mng in an ogg bitstream? From what I've read of the documentation, there doesn't seem to be any codec-enumeration system. Do we just interleave the packets and let the player guess based on the headers which codec to try? I

Vorbis I specification
I am little confused over what Vorbis I specification states and ogg logical and physical bitstream overview document.( http://xiph.org/vorbis/doc/oggstream.html) I am quoting here the Vorbis I specification "The Ogg/Vorbis I specication currently dictates that Ogg/Vorbis streams use Ogg transport streams in degenerate, unmultiplexed form only. That is: *A meta-headerless Ogg le

where is the latest javascript api documented? it does not look like http://wiki.xiph.org/index.php/OggPlayJavascriptAPI has been updated recently.
