I have downloaded the following files
libao-0.6.0.tar.gz
libogg-1.0beta4.tar.gz
libvorbis-1.0beta4.tar.gz
vorbis-tools-1.0beta4.tar.gz
as said from the download section. But I'm at a loss to what do after

still want to try out ogg. (I downloaded the source coz I have an OpenBSD

libvorbis configure script fails on Irix
Hello,
I'm trying to compile libogg, libvorbis, libao, and vorbis-tools on an
SGI Octane running Irix6.5.22. libogg configures and compiles without
a problem. I installed it in usr/local/lib.
When I moved on to libvorbis trouble began. The configure script made
the following complaint:
checking for Ogg... 12269:./conftest: rld: Error: unresolvable symbol

libvorbis config error
Hi all.
I found some references to a problem similar to mine in the archives,
but none of the solutions posed there worked, so I'm left to ask again.
I'm running Debian 2.2r5, libc6, and as far as I know all other
necessary libraries for compilation. libao and libogg compile and
install fine, but when I try run ./configure for libvorbis, it fails and
says it can't find libogg.

Problem configuring speex 1.1.8
Looking at the log, it just seems like your compiler is just not
producing working code (see the segfault)

Fwd: help building very old R
Hi guys,
Perhaps someone here can help.
I am trying to build versions of R 1 for the rcheology package (just
arrived on CRAN).
For R prior to 1.5.0, I cannot configure support for tcl-tk.
I am building on Debian Woody (provided by Docker debian/eol) and have the
following packages installed:
r-base-dev tclx8.3-dev tk8.3-dev xvfb xbase-clients x-window-system-core
I download R source from

libedit not found on SUse 11.1
Included below is a diff between the output from configure on a 64 bit
SUse 11.1 (doesn't find libedit) and a 64 bit Suse 10.3 (does find
libedit) for otherwise identical setups.
1. How can I get the output set up to look at conftest.c?
2. I added a set -x to configure above LIBEDIT_MSG=no
3. ./configure --with-ldflags="-L/usr/lib64" --with-cflags="-ggdb3

Vorbis doesn't build off the head with non-standard installation directory
After updating my libtool to 1.3.5, I got ogg installed OK with:
./autogen.sh --prefix=/Local/Public/bungi/Vorbis
make install
But, now I'm trying to build vorbis (which exactly the same command as above) and I'm getting a failure in configure since it can't find the ogg headers. The config.log shows:
configure:1888: cc -o conftest -O20 -D__NO_MATH_INLINES -fsigned-char

The only two change in source code is :
1. the configure file (in confiure when test include wctype.h,gcc can compile but clang need include both wchar.h wctype.h),so this is patch
