programming with libshout
Hello... I have a doubt with the use of shout_send()... at low level, what should it send? the example reads from "stdin" and sends the read buffer with shout_send, but... where should fread() read from (behind the stdin)? I could think about something like this (for example) mpg123 "audio_file" ---> stdout --pipe-- stdin <--- libshout_application I include the

Voice Activation Level (speex 1.1.11.1)
Lis, I suggest you try tweaking Speex's VAD probabilities as Steve suggested. But consider a simple threshold-based approach as a backup option. Personally, I struggled with Speex's VAD algorithms (both encoder and preprocessor) for a long time, tweaked the probabilities, wrote special case code to work around the mistakes, and was still never satisfied with the results. Installing el3 packages on CentOS 4
Is it possible to install el3 packages on CentOS 4? I'm wondering because there are some packages on dag (for example ac3dec) that are built for el3 and not for el4. Is it better to rebuild the source rpm? Thanks. Sincerely Jose Alburquerque

[PATCH] erlang: Port to libei for Erlang 23
From: Sergei Golovan <sgolovan@gmail.com> Replace the use of liberl_interface, which is removed in Erlang 23, by libei. The implementation uses the ei_decode_iodata() function which has been introduces only for Erlang 23, so it doesnt work with earlier Erlang versions. --- erlang/Makefile.am | 1 - erlang/main.c | 312 +++++++++++++++++++++++++-------------------

Help needed: division by zero in winword etc.
Hi, in quite a few programs i can not browse the filesystem when opening a "listbox"; to be more clear: for example when i do in winword Open and the listbox appears, and i try to open the pull down menu winword just quits(without an error message in wine). In another program like "Camel join" it quits as soon as i go up to the level of "my computer" with a message

@RSYNC EXIT / @RSYNC EOF
tridge and Wayne in particular: I checked in this patch, which is meant to consolidate the ones from both of you for handling EOF in a modules list. The idea is that we need to handle servers that just close the socket rather than sending a nice ending token, but we want to keep EOF detection on in general. Submission: Patch to libshout/sock.c for MacOSX
Hi, re libshout: MacOSX doesn't have poll(), which prevents sock.c from compiling. I've patched sock.c to use select(), which is supported on MacOSX, and should be elsewhere too. I've marked my changes with "SKoT" comments in the file below. Main changes are in sock_write_bytes(). - SKoT ------8<----- /* sock.c * - General Socket Functions * * Copyright (c) 1999

rsynd-2.5.1 / batch.c patch
Platform: Compaq OpenVMS Alpha 7.3 Compiler: Compaq C T6.5 The following patch is an update to a previous patch that I submitted. The only change from the previous patch is that the const qualifier has been added to write_batch_*() routines to improve compiler efficiency. Because the gdiff -u was done against the distribution it includes the previous patch. The functions with no parameters

main/character.c (et.al): dangerous AllocBuffer()
I was hit by ugly crashes of R, when I tried to read big data sets ("volcano"). So I looked into the code and found the following in character.c (triggered by substr()): I assume that the helper function AllocBuffer() shall facilitate an economic memory management. But the use of realloc() in the else-branch does not conform to ANSI and may hit you with certain compilers. When called

Adventures with icecast2
Hi all: OK, this is one of those "why doesn't it work" type questions. I'm basically stumped. All the server info in the xml file and example.c seem to match, but it's coming back with an error 3 which is no login (as far as I can understand). There's nothing in the icecast2 logs to show that an attempt has been made. hmmm. It just occured to me that perhaps it's

iceS 0.2.2 bug?
I havent had the time to look into this further, and since i'm not a much of a C progammer, i'm afraid i might never figure it out so i thought i'd report it here. i'm running icecast 1.3.11 and feeding it with iceS 0.2.2. i've got 7 streams running, each running a different playlist out of my collection in random order. one of the streams runs for a few hours and then
