Using Vorbis, and only Vorbis.
Hi all. Although I am not subscribedto the list, I read it in regular basis. I moved from mp3 to Vorbis to encode all my music collection. Now I started wondering, as reading a mail from Erik Stenborg that Vorbis quality might not yet be ready for "production", since it is in beta. I find it _very_ high-quality, but I just wanted to ask about it to you, developers. I am using beta4

interactive flag unix
Hi, I would like to see a way to force R to be in interactive mode with a flag. So that the default behavior of being in interactive mode if the input is from a keybord can be overridden. Something like: R --interactive R --no-interactive octave has a flag like this and it words nicely for what I need (input from named pipe). Anyway, the fix is just a simple change to src/unix/system.c I can

Hello, Im working on a 50933 point count bird abundance dataset. libao-0.8.5 patch
Hi! There are some little inconvenience in libao-0.8.5. - The biggest is may that: the documentation and the header file declare the ao_file_extension function, which give a hint for the file extension where the device is realy a sound file. This function is missing. -An other: the alsa 0.5 and the alsa 0.9+ drivers short name. It will be better if the alsa 0.5's name will be alsa05 and the

SOLVED: Roaming profiles not updating XP
After almost 40 hours of work and testing over 6 computers I have finally figured out the answer to my problem of Roaming profiles not updating. This has occurred with SAMBA versions 2.2.* and later up through and including 3.0.2a (completely clean install in each case, including rebuilding domain, users and groups and smb.conf from scratch). It does not appear to be a SAMBA issue but one

puppetmasterd continuously consuming high CPU, with many interrupts
So, I have a server at home that has four VMs running inside it. All are managed via puppet. The physical host runs puppetmasterd. I don''t recall noticing this before, but puppetmasterd has decided to be kind of crazy. Here''s the physical host with no puppetmasterd running: top - 11:36:15 up 271 days, 15:16, 1 user, load average: 5.68, 5.50, 6.45 Tasks: 129 total, 1

Re: SYSLINUX Digest, Vol 33, menu.c32 chaining
Hello, many of our platforms do not have a integrated floppy, some even don''t have a floppy controller. As pxelinux still has a problem with machines without a floppy in combination with some bios versions I need to chainload a different bootstrap loader which works on the floppyless platforms. But I also need to load a BartPE and the other BS loader does not support that. So I tried to

AJAX Event Handlers, like shift key pressing...
Hey everyone, I thought I''d seen a demo of an AJAX app that responded to control key presses, like performing a different action when the shift key is pressed. What I''d really like to do is have a div change when the shift key is pressed (to change the text of the link inside it to indicate what new action will occur when that link is clicked with shift held down). Is

Using/ pressing more than two Keys at a time
Hi everybody! I have a little bit of a problem over here. Since recently i enjoy playing GTA2 yet again on my Ubuntu-box using Wine. What is now not as comforting is, that I'm not able to use three keys at a time (e.g. forward+ left + attack). (Or 'more than two' for that matter.) Does anyone of you know how i might fix this issue? it really isn't as fun as it ought to be. Thank

PXE Linux (Simple Menu) freeze after pressing 23 times return
Yes it sounds silly, but its true. I made a menu with some submenu with the simple menu system. After pressing 23 times return to get into the submenu or back to the mainmenu it freeze. I think this is a bug of syslinux. I tried it on 3 different PC/Servers always the same effect. Here is my default and one of my submenu files: default: #Projekt PXE-Boot von Franz Lang www.franz-lang.com

Only Accept Call After Pressing a Key '#' or '*'
I would like asterisk to dial an extension or external number but for the call to only be connected after the called party presses a key. Therefore been able to announce the call to the called party before answering. I have had this working on queued calls but want to incorporate this for standard dialled extensions. Our use for this would to be able to divert a call to a users mobile but only
