ogg123 remote interface
Hi,
I've been working on ogg123 to see if i could add a remote interface
compatible with the one in mpg123. This remote interface is used mainly by
mp3 players which use mpg123 as their backend.
The reason i did this was that i have recently encoded some of my cd's in
ogg vorbis format but wanted to keep using my favourite player (playmp3list,

Bug #4
Hi.
I created a patch for Bug #4 (ogg123 not honoring /etc/ogg123rc) and
uploaded it to Bugzilla, but I have the feeling that the Bugzilla is
somewhat neglected... so I just send the patch here.
The changes are very simple, one typo (I guess) was fixed (from
"/etc/ogg123.rc" to "/etc/og123rc" as it's documented), and I changed an if
to a while-loop to make it read the

Patches for NetBSD
I submitted four new packages for the NetBSD pkgsrc collection: libao,
libogg, libvorbis and vorbis-tools for 1.0beta4.
The following is some of the patches needed for libao and vorbis-tools.

automake 1.6 compatability patch
This patch cleans up the vorbis-tools Makefile.am files so they work with both
automake 1.4 and 1.6. Some changes to configure.in were also needed in order
to get things to work (and to fix some ac 2.50 issues).
Please remove config.h from cvs as it is a generated file and empty anyway.
automake 1.6 isn't really incompatable with 1.4, it's just more picky about
you sticking to the rules:

ogg123: close_dsp_on_suspend and next_on_SIGUSR1 patches submission
Hi,
A developper of MandrakeSoft needed for some reason to ameliorate ogg123
in a way: with the patch when you issue a Ctrl+Z (suspending the app) the
dsp is freed. Ofcourse the app can still continue when SIGCONT is
received.
Apparently he chose to separate the actual code into more functions.
Please note that this code uses local functions, it thus needs gcc to
compile.

ogg123 man page location
mandir should default to $(prefix)/man, but there's no reason to
mess with it since autoconf/automake will take care of it on their
own just fine.

patches to beta 4 spec files
Hi,
Attached are patches for the beta 4 distribution, fixing minor
problems in RPM spec files.
One question: are there any reasons not to include vorbiscomment
in the vorbis-tools binary package? I've added the long-awaited
utility program into the revised spec file, but I wonder if it
is a wrong change...

vorbis-tools compiling problem
Hello,
I successfully compiled and installed;
libao-0.6.0-1
libao-devel-0.6.0-1
libogg-1.0beta4-1
libogg-devel-1.0beta4-1
libvorbis-1.0beta4-1
libvorbis-devel-1.0beta4-1
as RPM's using the spec files included in the sources. (the RPM's
available for download are for RPM 4 users, I guess?)
Anyway, now I'm trying to compile vorbis-tools using the spec file
included and I got the

Hi,
I have been trying to compile vorbis-tools-1.0beta4 on NetBSD-1.5/i386,
and I get the following:

libao patch: Minor clean up / Byte-order proposal
Here is a patch to fix the compiler warnings I mentioned earlier. I've
removed the byte-order changes that don't make sense. (Thanks Michael for
pointing out the error!)
As for the byte-order changes, since some output modules don't have the option
to set the sample byte-order, I would like to standardize libao and ogg123 on
native byte-order. Will this break the ao_wav.c patches

Systemwide default for ogg123
MoiN
I thought you should be able to set system wide defaults for the
output device of ogg123. The following patch will look for
/etc/ogg123rc, if no ~/.ogg123rc can be found. So the user can
still override the system defaults, but not every user needs to
have an ~/.ogg123rc file.

Repeat patch for ogg123
Hi,
I have made a small patch for enabling repeating in ogg123.
It adds the parameter "--repeat n" or "r n" where n indicates how
many times it repeats the playlists. Zero in forever.
Apply it if you like, I find it very convenient.

ogg123 synopsis and man page fixes
The output of ogg123 -h and the man page should be updated to
document the devices currently available through libao. (Those
extraneous carriage returns in ogg123.1 suck, btw.)

win32 question
Does win32 have pathconf() and _PC_NAME_MAX?
I ask for ogg123 -- it uses "NAME_MAX" right now (already been mentioned
on this list a few times), which does not exist everywhere.
I've proposed changing it to use the pathconf() function, but I don't know
if win32 has this or not (I don't have, or want, access to win32 compilers
:-).
If win32 doesn't have pathconf(), we

Mac OS X / Darwin patch for vorbis-tools
This patch (along with all the previous patches) gets oggenc and ogg123 working. This does not get vorbiscomment working, although I assume that would be trivial -- just add the getopt stuff to the project just like I did in ogg123.
In addition to this patch, as I just mentioned, getopt1.c getopt.h and getopt.c need to be copied from oggenc to ogg123 and added.
