Winamp plugin; http streaming
Sorry, had to foward this. Chris: Majordomo is triggering on the HTML in the message and rejecting it. A minor pain, but that alone catches half the spam that would otherwise show up on the list... ----- Forwarded message from owner-vorbis-dev@xiph.org ----- From: "Chris Moeller" <chris@kode54.net> To: <vorbis-dev@xiph.org> Subject: Winamp plugin; http streaming Date:

building ogg
Okay I figured out the environment space problem. Now I am trying to build the winamp plugin but I am missing the httpstream.h file. I downloaded the nightly cvs snapshot. Anyone know where I can get that file? I searched the entire snapshot but cannot find that file. Oggenc bug & other
Hello! I would like to send some bugs and bugfix(es): 1. There is an encoding bug in the beta 3 (downloaded exe from the vorbis.com) and in the latest CVS (jan. 10.) too (compiled with MSVC 6.0): If the file contains some non-audible noise at the begin or at the end, the encoder/decoder makes some large clips in the output file, if the bitrate is 350kbit/s . If I use 256kbit/s or

[Flac-users] Winamp 2/Winamp 3 and FLAC plug-ins
I know that Winamp has its loyal following. I've never used it much. Also, I'm a novice at computer music. I've always just bought CD's and never used computer music. So perhaps I'm an idiot or just not very music-software literate, but I so far haven't been impressed with Winamp, or the FLAC plug-in. Just for one example, I've got a dual-Althlon MP 2000 system

winamp plug-in enhancement/bugfix
josh, thanks for the feedback. now i can start encoding like mad knowing that the generated flac files are ok =) (flac -t said the files were ok, despite metaflac's complaints). i noticed that without the flac-for-winamp plug-in installed, winamp correctly displays the id3 filename (e.g. "Bjork - Human Behavior") in the playlist and also displays the id3 tags in the file

Winamp plug-in tag editor bug
There is a bug in winamp plug-in tag editor that corrupts files encoded in -b192 mode - these files have trouble with seeking. So get the latest plug-in: http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/in_vorbis.exe If some of your files have been messed up by this bug, you have to re-encode them. --- Aleksandar @ Vorbis Xtreme | http://solair.eunet.yu/~aldov Ogg Vorbis is the free, open source alternative

Winamp plug-in
When using Winamp's diskwriter with the ogg plug-in v1.13 the resulting wav files are only named 01, 02, etc. So the original names are lost. I hope Peter can fix this. WinAmp plug-in based on RC1?
Hi, I just downloaded this and it says it's based on RC1 in the about box. Is that a typo or is the plug-in not updated? Winamp Plugins
Hi, Would anyone complain if I posted a pre-built binary of the winamp plugin? Just for those people without compilers that have missed out on the updates in the winamp plugin made in the last few day. In case any of them are experiencing the problems that were fixed. I plan on keeping it updated regularly with the latest builds. Does all of this sound ok or are there any complaints? Matt

Ogg123 buffering
I tried to use ogg123 -b to play from a slow HTTP server, and I realized that ogg123 starts to play immediately even if the buffer isn't full, so if it can't read the ogg fast enough it skips, even with a huge buffer. Is this the way it's supposed to work? It seems to me like the buffer shouldn't start playing until it's full. Am I misunderstanding the purpose of having a

ao: Sun audio plug-in
Here's the promised Sun audio system plug-in. I have tested this on OpenBSD. It should work without changes on NetBSD, too. Jeremy, could you please verify this? After a few minor tweaks it now also compiles on Solaris 2.7. Alas, I can't verify whether it actually plays anything there. I guess this could also with little effort be made to work on SunOS4. Re: WinAmp OGG Output Plugin
This message appeared in my inbox over the weekend. A useful idea although I have not reviewed the code. Might someone on the list (or the original author) be interested in running with it? Freeamp output plug-in
Hello: I don't usually post requests like this to mailing lists, but I've just about run out of other options. The vorbis.org and vorbis.com sites both make mention of a beta vorbis output plug-in for freeamp, but I'm blowed if I can find it anywhere. It's definitely not in the vorbis.com download section (unless it's been placed their within the last 24 hours or so), and

Graphing help revisited
Sorry, my last post came out unreadable. I'll try again. Here is the data. Think of them as transposed columns. A: 1,1,1,2,3,4,5,6,6, 7B: 5,5,6,7,7,7,8,9,10,11 Split the data into two groups, each of size 5, and make a scatterplot. getdiskfreespace, revisited
Further research indicates that GetDiskFreeSpace() is still ok for getting sector size, regardless of actual disk size. In any case, I''m going to default to 512 in the unlikely event that the call fails, rather than raise an error. Dan
