Multi-channel labels in Vorbis comments
Hi devs :-) At the Mozilla Festival in London recently, I took part in a Hack the DJ workshop, looking at ways to take digital DJ'ing to the next level: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/researchanddevelopment/2011/11/setting-a-dj-challenge-at-the.shtml One of the ideas proposed was stem mixing, using multichannel files in DJ applications. A proprietary implementation of this idea is Fireplayer

Replacement for Allison
Hi, Does anyone know what I need to do to get these: http://www.enicomms.com/cutglassivr/ Sounds files to work? I've tried loading them, but they are completely silent (format mis-match maybe?). Specifically, when I try to enter voicemail, nothing plays... though it clearly tries. I'm looking for replacement sound files for the default Allison, as I feel she is kind of breathy. I have

music.ibiblio.org: bad Vorbis comments?
Hi, having inspected one of the files found at music.ibiblio.org, I realized that the comments are quite poor or misformatted in the files. I'm telling you, because: 1) I think it's great to have some free music 2) I think the performers deserve to be recognized Generally, I'd put as much as possible into the Vorbis comments. Then you could skip creating these index.html manually:

why does it sound so strange
hi, what makes the stream at http://ogg.radiostudio.org:8007/ostream.ogg sound so strange. I don't complain, I just want to know the reason for this (is this pre-echo?). mörk p.s.: the stream will be online for the next couple of days. --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to

mongrel_cluster 1.0.2
Hi all... After a few months of slumber, I''ve booted mongrel_cluster out the door. Nothing is really new from the prereleases except some bug fixes. I imagine there will still be some issues with ''ps'' on non-Linux platforms. I''ll gladly take patches. Most of the new stuff is described here: http://rubyforge.org/frs/shownotes.php?release_id=12907 Let me

Impossible two bugs in Opus
Hello. Me again. Have you tried to encode piano solo? Noticed high bitrate Opus gave? And there's also artefact at 15kHz which wasn't in the original audio. Visible with Spek program. Download FLAC and Opus both files, new link: http://www.filedropper.com/example_3 FLAC full: 1084 kbps; FLAC solo: 465 kbps. with --bitrate 160: Opus full: 158 kbps; Opus solo: 190 kbps. Delay on preroll
Hello I have a problem when I use the intro to send a pre-roll, the main stream generates a 20 second delay, when the main stream is played it has no delay. Is there any parameter I can use to eliminate the delay? with pre-rolli: https://radiomarca-rrcast.flumotion.com/radiomarca/live.mp3 without pre-rolli: https://radiomarca-rrcast.flumotion.com/radiomarca/live-np.mp3 my conf: icecast>

Feedback on XML metadata namespace
Hi ogg-dev list, After discussing the [lack of] metadata standards on the irc://irc.freenode.net/#Vorbis channel yesterday I figured I had to contribute to this process. Attached is a sample XML formatted metadata sheet describing a song; and shows off other media type elements as well. How this is to be embedded in the OGG container is not my field. I have only spent a couple of hours

/* Check for midi header in logical stream */
Hello List, as an long time macintosh user , musican/producer/programmer , i am very upset that another great technology (DSS ) vanished because of http streaming so i turned my interest towards icecast, whitch seems an fantastic and evolved media streaming server. I am very interested in Midi, especialy the possibility to *sync Audio with Midi*. So my question , would it be possible to stream a

Gapless concatenation of Opus frames
Hi Jean-Marc, thank you for looking into this. I'm using the current release version of libopus (1.2.1) and version 0.1.10 of opus-tools, both built from source. Libopusenc is the current git master. Indeed I cannot hear any glitches in continuous.opus, continuous.wav, and chained.wav. chained.opus decodes just fine with opusdec as well, but doesn't play properly in any standard audio

Cisco to Cisco - poor quality
I am just starting to deploy asterisk in our office to use as our primary phone system - we plan to use a Voicetronix OpenLine4 card as our PSTN gateway - but one thing at a time... haven't got that far yet. Currently, i'm trying simple IP to IP calls within the office using our Cisco 7960's phones running SIP. When I make a call between these two phones, the conversation is of a

(Classical) Request for Standardization of expanded TAGS
A month or two ago I sent an email to this list proposing to expand the list of "standard" tags for Ogg Vorbis. No tag would be required, but if you wanted to encode certain types of information about a file, you could use a standard tag. I went through the whole discussion, and revised my proposal in light of all the comments from everyone. Here is the updated proposal. This

mp3-wav-cd-audio "acoustically equivalent" to wav-cd-audio ?
A friend of mine made the following comment in a discussion I had with him that on a website we adminster we should offer a) WAV or maybe shorten files b) Ogg as a decent reference lossy encoded version He's been trying to convince me that we should offer MP3 (in lieu of WAV) and possibly Ogg. The audio files are primarily vocals I am not a physics guy but his statements don't

Lost stonehenge.ogg
Back in 2001 Patrick Godeau posted to this list a link to an awesome track called stonehenge. A bunch of us here downloaded it. Somehow I managed to hose my copy and was wondering if anyone on this list still has it around and could post a link or email it to me? I absolutely love that track and I can't even see where I could purchase it... as far as I know it's a one of a kind gem,
