Peak value
Hi, While testing ReplayGain (so it could be related to a bug), I noticed the following gain comments for a file: RG_PEAK=1.71580 RG_RADIO=-7.91 dB RG_AUDIOPHILE=-6.72 dB I've never seen such a large peak. Not that I've looked much, nor have I analyzed the file further. I just thought I should mention it. :) The file is the track Board Burner by Mixmaster Mike, available at:

libvorbis: NO_FLOAT_MATH_LIB patch
This is in response to NO_FLOAT_MATH_LIB not getting set on Solaris. The patchlet below - makes configure check for sqrtf(), - defines HAVE_SQRTF if sqrtf() has been found, - uses HAVE_SQRTF in lib/os.h. NO_FLOAT_MATH_LIB isn't used any longer. --- configure.in.orig Fri Mar 30 02:02:35 2001 +++ configure.in Fri Mar 30 02:10:16 2001 @@ -162,6 +162,7 @@ dnl

Patch to get libvorbis 1.0b4 to build on Solaris 2.7
Apps building against libvorbis 1.0b4 will fail to link on Solaris 2.7 because libvorbis uses atanf, sqrtf, etc., which aren't available on that platform. In lib/os.h, there are a couple of workarounds (ifdef DARWIN, ifndef GNUC), but I'm building on Solaris with gcc, so this doesn't help me any. :) Attached is a patch to configure.in which checks for sqrtf in libm, and if it finds

Vorbisgain in ogg123
I'm considering patching my copy of ogg123 to support vorbisgain tags. Is there any interest in folding this sort of patch into the main line ogg123? Has anyone done this already (or to another command line ogg player)? Icecast 2.0 in OS X Server?
Folks; I am having a hell of a time trying to get IceCast 2.0 installed on an Apple XServe running OS X 10.2.3. The problem seems to stem from one of the libraries required by IceCast, specifically libvorbis. When running MAKE in an attempt to install libvorbis I get the following: <p>Making all in examples /bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link gcc -DDARWIN -fno-common

RGL
Dear all, I was willing to use the library "rgl" to plot some 3D graphics, but unfortunately, I wan't able to instal the library. The error message is below. I would be very grateful if you could give me any clues about how I can solve this. Compilation error on installing rgl package
Hi all, I encountered difficulties when I tried to install the rgl package. I'm using R devel (2.7.0) on Mac OS X 10.5.1. Below is the message popping up when compiling the package from source. I'd be grateful if someone can help me solve the problem. Thanks, Kenneth * Installing *source* package 'rgl' ... checking for gcc... gcc -arch x86_64 -std=gnu99 checking for C

Modification requests / question
Hello! 1. You should modify the 'vorbis_ftoi(f)' for the undefinied OS/compiler in the 'os.h' on this way: old: static int vorbis_ftoi(double f){ return (int)(f+.5); } new: #define vorbis_ftoi(f) ((int)(f+.5f)) Because in some cases we don't use this function, and the compiler writes many error messages. 2. Could you write a frequency and bitrate independent

Icecast 2.0 in OS X Server?
Thanks Ralph; Maybe it's me. I wiped out my whole /var/libvorbis directory, dropped in a new one from the libvorbis-1.0.1.tar.gz file including all the subdirectories, and edited /var/libvorbis/examples/Makefile.fm as instructed. I then ran ./configure without difficulty, then ran make again, which started afresh but still ended up with the same error: gcc -DDARWIN -fno-common

Mac OS X / Darwin patch for vorbis-tools
This patch (along with all the previous patches) gets oggenc and ogg123 working. This does not get vorbiscomment working, although I assume that would be trivial -- just add the getopt stuff to the project just like I did in ogg123. In addition to this patch, as I just mentioned, getopt1.c getopt.h and getopt.c need to be copied from oggenc to ogg123 and added. The host check in

[LLVMdev] -O4 limitations in llvm/llvm-gcc-4.2 2.5?
What exactly are the current limitations for using -O4 to create shared libraries with llvm/llvm-gcc-4.2 2.5? I tried a build of xplor-nih at -O4 with llvm-gcc, llvm-g++ and llvm-gfortran. The build fails to link shared libraries with errors such as... Building xplor-nih for platform: Darwin_9_x86 [ -d /Users/howarth/xplor-nih-2.21/bin.Darwin_9_x86/ ] || mkdir

More BeOS woe
This one may be my fault.... I've put a temporary fix for libvorbis not linking, I altered libvorbis_la_LIBADD = to libvorbis_la_LIBADD = $(OGG_LIBS) in the makefile, hence the temporary and continued with the build. I'm now getting gcc -DPACKAGE=\"libvorbis\" -DVERSION=\"1.0.0\" -DHAVE_ALLOCA_H=1 - DHAVE_ALLOCA=1 -I. -I. -I../include

Problems in rgl on MacOS X
I have recently been trying to build rgl on MacOS X 10.4 using R-2.1.1 with gcc-4.0 5026 and gfortran. The R binary I built without problems and it includes libpng and Tcl/ Tk on X11. Rcmdr works correctly. The rgl build produces a large number of warnings like: g++ -no-cpp-precomp -I/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Resources/ include -I/System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework/Headers

problems with beta4 encoder
Hi, Am trying to run beta4 encoder on a Sun machine. Want to compare floor0 and floor1. Do not have autoconf and automake. Got the encoder to compile with a simple makefile. The only define i am using is NO_FLOAT_MATH_LIB. The encoded file when played(winamp) gives out plain noise. Am i missing any other flags/defs? -Cathy <p>--------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!

mdct_backward with fused muladd?
Can anybody point me at any resources that would explain how to optimize mdct_backward for a cpu with a fused multiply-accumute unit? >From what I understand from responses to my older postings, Tremor's mdct_backward could be rewritten to take advantage of a muladd. My target machine can do either two-wide 32x32 + Accum(64) -> Accum(64) integer muladd or eight-wide 16x16 + Accum(32)

Patch to compile libvorbis on Windows x64
Hi! I tried to do an x64 build of libvorbis but was stopped by the inline assembly in lib/os.h. Attached is a patch that modifies this file so libvorbis will compile for Windows x64. Tested with Visual C++ 2008 Express (x86_x64 compiler from current Windows SDK; 15.00.21022.08), seems to be working fine with no other issues so far. Important: As you can see in the patch, I also changed the

potential BeOS fix
I'm not sure how this would affect other OS's (I have no real idea how autoconf, automake etc work) but this is a go at fixing the BeOS undefined link problem. Hope the diffs are okay P.S. is there a simple test program for the FP bug in the math inline header I'd like to see if BeOS suffers from the problem or not.
