mount.cifs fails with protocol SMBv2.x on a DFS share
Hello list, a few days ago we migrated our shares to a DFS cluster, also we disabled SMBv1 protocol. Now we are no longer able to connect to the shares with our linux workstations. The setup looks like this: linux workstation -----> AD server (Windows Server 2008 R2) -----> file server (Windows Server 2016, running in 2008 R2 compat mode) I have searched the web for a solution on the

[PATCH] Add syscall wrappers required by libkeyutils
libkeyutils is used by the keyctl command which is required for loading keys into the kernel (e.g. for mounting an authenticated UBIFS as root file system). libkeyutils usually invokes syscall() directly. As syscall() is not provided by klibc, libkeyutils has to be slightly modified for using the klibc wrappers. Signed-off-by: Christian Eggers <ceggers at arri.de> ---

do not show printers?
Hello! What can I do to tell samba to do not show the printers. I've configured printing = no and removed the [printers]-Section, but I still see the printers section when browsing the server. Any hints? regards Markus Schabel +--------------------------------------------+ | TGM - Die Schule der Technik | | IT-Service | | A-1200 Wien, Wexstrasse

One way audio problem on gateway to PSTN after some time, no NAT involved
Hello everyone, since some weeks I experience strange problems on my gateways to the PSTN. The gateways use chan_ss7 and SIP. My setup is roughly like that SER --> Asterisk A --> Asterisk B (chan_ss7) --> PSTN What happens is, that after a while (uptime was a least two days) the gateway starts to not transmit audio to the PSTN on outgoing calls, but the caller can still hear the called

recycle: ... returned No such file or directory
Hi, recently I see lots of logs like this. I figured, that many have umlaute in their name - but not all. My local FS displays the umlaute correctly - but it is not displayed correctly in the logfiles. Also, when I browse through shares via Windows or MacOSx all files with umlaute seem to be displayed correctly. May 5 08:27:54 Storage-01 smbd[39207]: recycle: stat for

xen-unstable: TX/RX ring buffer exhaustion and NR_GRANT_FRAMES
Hi, it seems as if it is not possible to have more than 3 nics per domU right now. If I specify more, I get the usual [...] xen_net: Initialising virtual ethernet driver. #### netfront can''t alloc rx grant refs vif: probe of vif-3 failed with error -12 [...] message - see bug #183. Hi! I noticed the following problem in dovecot-1.2-sieve-0.1.14: The following vacation causes trouble with the Subject line: if not exists ["List-Id", "List-Post"] { vacation :days 7 :addresses ["test at netcologne.de"] :subject "=?utf-8?b?w4TDlsOc?= sadasd" "Bin gerade nicht hier."; } As you can see, the Subject is already MIME encoded

Fax over SIP Problems (sorry for this topic ...)
Hello everyone! I tried to send a fax over SIP with an Asterisk Server in the middle (no Digium Cards, etc. installed, everything is SIP only, the PSTN-Gateway is external). Whenever I start sending a Fax to a PSTN destination, the Call gets answered and asterisk tries to build a native bridging: -- Attempting native bridge of SIP/sip.westend.com-082fd1b8 and SIP/xxx-3ef8 Then the following

[a bit off-topic] oggenc crashes my K6-200 box
I've noticed that oggenc reliably crashes my K6-200 box after a few minutes of encoding. Has anyone else experienced crashes like this? Surely it must be a hardward fault, or perhaps a K6 problem (this processor has some errata). Still, I'm surprised that nothing else I do with it seems to hang it. Has anyone else seen anything like this? --Mike --- >8 ---- List archives:

Problems w/long file access times (samba2.2.5 & WinXP pro) (fwd)
Hello all, we're currently having problems with Windows XP machines that have *very* long file access times for files that are located on our linux-based samba server (samba 2.2.5 / linux 2.4.18). This happens with all kinds of files, with all kinds of programs, including Office97, text editors, develoment environments, etc. Sometimes - the incidents itself seems to be random and is not

Maybe you can open my eyes... Best regards Sascha Here my conf-files: PDC

Re: ogg123
I'm forwarding this on to the Vorbis users list because though it was initially addressed to me it's not really a problem I can deal with (though I give a few suggestions and discussion below anyway, of questionable accuracy). This was initially from a query to me about ogg123 WAV to stdout, but upon reply I got this in addition to discussion about WAV outuput, so I've cut this out
