Broken mail list web archive
Hi! The page http://www.xiph.org/archives/vorbis/masterindex.html links to http://www.xiph.org/archives/vorbis/date.html , whic gives a 404 error ( not found ). Just like last time ( begin of november ), when I reported it just like now. And I was ignored, just like now (?). -- David Balazic -------------- "Be excellent to each other." - Bill S. Mailing list archives now broken down by month
...not that hypermail really helped much, but the mailing list archives for vorbis and vorbis-dev at xiph.org are now broken down by month. Hopefully the rollover automation even works :-) Search comes next... Mail archive search is now up
There's now a list search on the xiph.org website for the vorbis and vorbis-dev mailing lists. The search can be found on each list's master monthly index (eg, http://www.xiph.org/archives/vorbis/masterindex.html) It's a Perl CGI on an underpowered box, so no bitching about speed :-) Monty --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage:

Welcome to the "Vorbis" mailing list
I'm a newcomer to Ogg Vorbis and I am trying to get it to work on my Mac OS X 10.4.11 and Quicktime 7.5.5 so that I can play the following CBC radio stations through iTunes. http://www.cbc.ca/listen/ogg.html I tried XiphQT and couldn't get that to work so I downloaded Ogg Drop. It seemed to install fine, but I still can't get either of those radio stations to play either from

audio/vorbis media type registration
This is the first draft of the audio/vorbis media registration form to be handled to the IANA. PLEASE comment extensively, even minor spelling mistakes etc are to be stamped out of this I hope. A media type for application/ogg (or should it be application/oggsquish?) will be created separately. I would be very happy if someone could supply the 4-letter filetype code used by MacIntosh .ogg files.

q re vorbis packetizing in ogg stream
>From looking at the code, it looks like the first vorbis header in a stream is always placed in its own page. It also looks like maybe the audio data (i.e., the stuff after the headers) is maybe also supposed to begin on a new page. Is this part of the spec? I notice, though, that the second and third headers share a page, at least in one .ogg I looked at. It seems like it would be easier

Vorbis Hardware List
A while ago I wrote a list of hardware projects that support Vorbis or will soon, which I've posted to this list a few times. I think it might be a good addition to Vorbis.com, to go along with the software lists, because for some, hardware support is very important. Anyway, I haven't gotten any replies from vanguardist@cox.net or feedback@vorbis.com, so I thought I'd remind people

anyone have vorbis gprof output I can look at?
If anyone has some reasonably valid gprof output laying around (from a vorbis encoding run), could you email it to me? Hardware list on vorbis.com
I like the vorbis.com site, and it was my first contact with Vorbis. Hardware support has never been hugely important to me, but the perceived lack of hardware support keeps many people from using Vorbis. I think there should be a list of Vorbis-supporting hardware right on vorbis.com. There are already a few non-PC devices that can play Vorbis (DP-450 DVD player, Zaurus, Palm), as well as

Mailing List Traffic
As I have become more interested in Ogg Vorbis, I have begun reading about it and have subscribed to this mailing list. The one thing that has pleasantly surprised me is the volume of traffic on this list. Has it always been this busy or is this a case where, like myself, more people are discovering Ogg Vorbis? <p><p>Thanks, Jeff Flowers <p>--- >8 ---- List archives:

vorbis 1.0.1 - debian bts bug list
Anyone who wants to see what bugs might not have made it into xiph bugzilla may want to look at the urls below. Be sure to check the bugs marked as fixed in NMU since they may have patches that aren't in cvs yet. I'll try to be around to help verify the bugs are fixed before release tomorrow/monday. is there any way to search the mailing list archive and order results by date?
i use google, with site:digium.com to search the archives, but i've never found a way to show the newest messages first, or limit the results to messages within a date range. anybody know a better way to search that allows this?
