[regid23@yahoo.com: Bug#669667: faq.html: missing separator between two distinct shell command s]
I received the attached bug report from a Debian user; it applies to http://www.openssh.com/faq.html (I ship a copy of the FAQ in the Debian package). Could somebody make this adjustment on the OpenSSH web site? Thanks, -- Colin Watson [cjwatson at debian.org] -------------- next part -------------- An embedded message was scrubbed... Comment Re: http://www.openssh.com/faq.html#3.2
The analysis given in section 3.2 of the portable OpenSSH FAQ regarding "Empty passwords not allowed with PAM authentication" appears to be specific to Linux's pam_unix.so. No mention is made that this is in fact a Linux-specific remedy. Some text should probably be added to this extent. If anyone has worked on this on Solaris 8 I'd be interested to hear what solution was

PP's out_vorbis winamp plugin based on RC1
I just found a message in vqf's forums http://www.vqf.com/bbs/display.php3?board=VQF.comForum&DISP=12831 that says: Have you tried vorbis output plugin for winamp ? it already support rc1 encoding! http://www.blorp.com/~peter/ --> see misc ! I checked this plugin and found it was based on libvorbis RC1. I wonder what does it mean? Can this plugin use Ogg vorbis encoder engine RC1?

Vorbis / Delphi Question
Hi all. I just downloaded the vorbisdll_bin.zip file from the archive, which appears to be the complete libvorbis in DLL format. This is wonderful news, as I was trying to convert the C library to a Delphi library by hand, and it was very slow in going. The only question I have is has anyone translated the necessary structures from C to Delphi yet? I noticed in the list that someone

Streaming info in HTML
Hi, Once upon a time, I can access the admin information such as client connected, streaming title/artist, etc, from web browser by browsing: http://servername:port/admin I used to had this just worked when I installed icecast and ices on the same machine. I then switch machines and have icecast in machine A, ices in machine B, connecting to icecast using mountpoint <mount> to machine A.

NHW Image codec
Hello, I don't have advanced (and worked) on the NHW codec recently.I however compiled the codec with gcc -O3 setting (the binaries are available from my demo page: http://nhwcodec.blogspot.com ) and just with this optimization (no mmx, sse, avx instructions,... ) the NHW codec is 6x faster to encode and 4x faster to decode than WebP.As I state that my codec is royalty-free, fast with more

Simple password checker
I'm attempting to get a Linux box to authenticate users from NT. I think it's possible by writing a PAM module (not hard) and using part of Samba's source to verify the password on the NT server. I'm getting pretty bogged down trying to work out how to do this - it seems like it should be simple - just take the password and username and ask the NT server if it's correct. If

Wavelet audio codec by Adapted Wave Tech.
Following a post on vqf.com forum, I found out that some company called Adapted Wave Technology is ready to release its audio codec based on wavelets. They say that this wavelet-based codec is superior to MDCT codecs by 30-50%. One sentence caught my attention: "Adapted Wave Technologies holds exclusive patent rights for applying wavelet packets to audio applications." - sounds like a

[LLVMdev] Anybody translating the LLVM FAQ from HTML to Sphinx?
If nobody else is doing it, I can translate the FAQ into Sphinx as I'd like to begin gradually extending it so that it some day becomes more than just bare metal. I figure that extending the FAQ is one way to reduce the "noise" on the various mailing lists. typo in the vorbis.com faq
In the "I run a music company" section of the faq, the possessive of "it" is spelled "it's" (twice). It should should be "its". http://vorbis.com/faq.html#company -r --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/

Plug & Play registry update for USB device?
Hullo. I'm running Darwine 1.0 on a MB-Pro with OSX 10.5.1.. We have an in-house developed Windows test tool. It runs OK, except... One of the (important) things it does is query the windows registry for all USB-connected devices with a particular GUID under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\DeviceClasses\blahblahblah... The guy who wrote the tool tells me that he

Possible incorrect file permissions in documentation for setting up Samba with LDAP(S)?
Hi All, This Samba release changelog (https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Updating_Samba#Incorrect_TLS_File_Permissions) specifically mentions a security issue and that that the multiple *.pem files needed for LDAP via TLS all need "special permissions" - and mentions to delete old files without the required permissions to force file renewal. Yet in the official Samba documentation
