Building on BeOS part 3
After fixing a 'bug' in libtool, I've finally got ogg compiling and producing
a shared library. Now I'm trying to build vorbis but I'm falling over
at the final step. While trying to produce libvorbisfile.
The make file is trying to compile with
gcc -nostart vorbisfile.o -L/boot/home/config/lib -logg -Wl,-soname -

Library issues (BOUNCE vorbis-dev@xiph.org: Non-member submission from [rob@emusic.com]) (fwd)
BTW, I need a volunteer to upgrade xiph.org to MailMan or the like. I'm
officially sick to death of majordomo.
(Or, if you want to code all the features I want in majordomo, that's fine too
;-) I'm a little bit out of time, see....

_oggpack
Hello
I am new at this. I have compiled the libogg and libvorbis libraries and
installed them on my MacOS X machine. The libao cannot be compiled yet
since stuff is missing. But I only want to play round with encoding right
now. So I also unpacked the vorbis tools distribution and am in oggenc.
In oggenc I do a
cc *.c -I. -L/usr/local/lib -logg -lvorbis -lvorbisenc
I get unknown symbols

problem building vorbis-tools-1.0rc3
I download all the tarballs for rc3. I compiled
and installed all the libraries successfully, but I wan't able to compile
the vorbis tools (1.0rc3) package succesfully.
I can run configure successfully, but when I run make it dies with this

libvorbisfile dynamic linkage with pkg-config - inter-library dependencies?
Audacity is preparing to release version 2.0.6 shortly, so I have been
doing numerous test builds. Since the last Audacity release, my
development system (Gentoo Linux) has updated to libvorbis-1.3.4 and
libogg-1.3.1.
As a result (I think) of this, I now get link errors when
trying to compile Audacity against the system copies of libogg and
libvorbis (standard dynamic linkage to the system

[PATCH] configure: Move language binding detection to separate files.
This commit starts to split our massive, monolithic configure.ac file
into smaller files, using the m4_include mechanism to combine them.
I don't know if we should really do this, so I'm open to comments
about it. However:
- Our configure.ac script is 1800+ lines long, and that's pretty long.
- configure.ac lacks structure; splitting it up might improve that.
- From what I read,

[PATCH]: Fix configure.ac to allow linking against PCRE on Cygwin
Hi,
the current configure.ac file contains an unfortunately static
setting of $LIBS when the host system is Cygwin. It always
adds -lregex to $LIBS before the --with-pcre setting is evaluated.
The later adding of -lpcreposix -lpcre doesn't work correctly
since it follows later in the link order.
The following patch changes that. The static $LIBS setting in the
Cygwin case doesn't
