Decoder example question
Hey all...I'm trying to use the decoder_example.c in the examples directory
to decode a .ogg file that was encoded by using the binary encoder
ogglame.exe and encoded via the encoder_example.c. I'm running into a
problem with the decoder though. It plays FINE under the WinAmp plugin but I
when I try and use the decoder_example.c to decode the file it says "End of

Problems compiling vorbis.lib in MS Land
Hey all...for whatever reason when opening up the vorbis_vc6 project in Dev
Studio bitwise.c and framing.c are still in the project. From my
understanding these files are only in the ogg library now. If I try to
compile the project as is, it fails because it can't find the files. Simple
solution: Delete the two files.
I just thought I'd give somebody a heads up....

Hardcoded header values?
Hey all...I'm getting "Missing header in logical bitstream." error when
trying to decode a Ogg file stream. I know the file is good because it plays
fine in WinAmp etc, etc.
The funky part to this is that I'm wrapping my own headers around each
"packet" and now I'm trying to de-wrap them and I'm running into this
problem. What I'm wondering is if vorbisfile

Vorbize.c
Are there any attempts currently being worked on to make Vorbize Visual C++
compatable? Or for that matter non-GNU compatiable?
I guess I never realized that getopt.h was a GNU thing. What would be the
suggested course of action to get vorbize to cross compile on VC++ or other
non-GNU platforms?
If not I can certainly do this because I'd like to be able to run this on
Windows but I

Kenneth's commits
I just commited my modifications:
vorbis-tools is back in the main build, but ogg123 is out of the vorbis-tools
build. I am investigating the cross-platform libraries suggested.
ogg123 silences "Clipping in frame x", can now play multiple files at once,
and has a new stream handling format (resolves the get_stream() bug mentioned
earlier).
Vorbize has options for no comment and

Looking for descriptions of difficult problems
Hi all,
Paul Anderson, a friend of mine who works at the University of
Edinburgh, is looking for complicated problems that are currently
difficult to handle with existing config mgmt tools.
Please read his request below, and if you have any difficult problems
that seem to meet his needs, I''d appreciate it if you would send
descriptions of them to him.
Thanks,
Luke

Bug in win32-eventlog, grabbing descriptions
Hi all,
I know that once upon a time I said that we shouldn''t use
DONT_RESOLVE_DLL_REFERENCES (line 698), but it appears that this was
wrong headed thinking for win32-eventlog.
A couple of folks have complained that they couldn''t get descriptions
for event records in some cases, and I have a strong feeling that''s the
culprit.
Can anyone see a downside to using

Getting event log descriptions from remote servers
Hi all,
Looks like there''s still an issue reading descriptions from remote event
logs. From Andrew Garberoglio:
"I was, however, able to devise a hack by setting up parallel registry
key on my workstation with alternate paths to the event source
libraries, which I copied from a Windows Server 2003 machine to my
workstation. Following that, I then modified the value of BASE_KEY in

SAS.xpt/STATA.dta, field descriptions, and dbWriteTable
Hello all,
I have a large database (~100MB in 13 relational
files) that made its way to me in two formats. The
files were sent in both SAS xport and STATA, thanks, I
am told, to stat-transfer. The two files, ostensibly,
contain the same data, just in different formats.
My goal: Move these files to MySQl without the help of
SAS or STATA (which I do not have).
The tools I am using are:

Retrieving column descriptions into Stata
Dear All,
I am working on a project with Stata 7 datafiles. I'm trying to do some
of my analysis in R since I don't have Stata handy. My problem is with
accessing the Stata column descriptions. (Part of the project is to
clean up these column descriptions.)
I imported the Stata files ok using the standard
X <- read.dta("c:/testdata/test1.dta")
test1.dta has column

[PATCH] Descriptions for dbus when plugin not loaded
Here is a quick patch for dbus to make it try to load the
metadata from a file if the plugin is not loaded.
I have tested it and it works fine, but I wanted to check to
see if you had something else in mind.

Python XML parsing of domain descriptions?
Does anyone know of a way to parse the libvirt XML into usable python data structures? Ideally, it would be something like foo['domain']['devices']['bridge'][0]['target'] or something of the sort. What I'm looking to accomplish is to figure out which tap interface goes with a specific domain.
I'm not keen on parsing XML to get that mapping, is there a

Samba 3.0b3 PDC - XP user descriptions
Hi all. I have (another) little question about XP and Samba 3.0b3 acting as
PDC.
When I press CTRL+ALT+DEL in my XP Client I see the message:
",,, has started session as BOOGERSOFT\Boogerman"
(BOOGERSOFT is my domain, and Boogerman is my username).
I also see the ",,," in the top of XP's start menu (when using XP's
startmenu instead of the "classic" start

Openphone implementation of Speex Codec's descriptions help
Would someone kindly share some definition into the following?
Openphone version 1.91 includes dual sets of Speex codec's starting with:
SpeexNarrow-5.95k{sw}
SpeexNarrow-5.95k{Xiph}
Through
SpeexNarrow-18.2k{sw}
SpeexNarrow-18.2k{Xiph}
I do not understand what the differences are between {sw} & {Xiph} given the
same bit rate for both?
Are all of these Narrow or Wide or Ultrawide
