Merge done
The merge of the format changes and new psychoacoustics is complete. There's
still tuning work left to do (most notably there's a somewhat
higher-than-acceptable level of background low-midrange/upper bass noise; this
is due mostly to incomplete psychoacoustic modelling data in the 100Hz-500Hz
range) however, at this point, pending bugfixes, the Vorbis 1.0 stream format
is frozen.

BeOS diffs
HI,
how do I get mods applied to Vorbis, I'm not a
cvs guru and I don't know much about configure scripts.
BeOS has this little quirk of being 99% POSIX compliant so these
mods are required for vorbis to compile.

Macintosh support (again)
In order to compile the latest Vorbis library on the Macintosh, the
change appended to this message needs to be made to os_types.h.in.
Then, anyone who wants to actually build it must first copy
os_types.h.in to os_types.h by hand, since MacOS does not include a
command line and thus cannot run configure.
It really bugs me that the whole "platforms which don't support

Bug fix, win32 stuff
There was a bug in the new ov_open_callbacks where it would
not zero out some member variables of the file info struct,
and if a file was not successfully opened this would cause
a crash at destruct time. Fixed.
I've also made some changes so that vorbis will compile
cleanly under win32 without one having to muck around with it.
I have added a "vorbis_vc6" directory which contains

patch for non-seekable streams on Windows
I've been trying to get oggdec to work with input streamed in through a
pipe or a socket. This seems to work on Linux and OS X, but not on
Windows. I've found that code in vorbisfile.c tests the input stream for
seekability by invoking fseek in the following way:
int offsettest=(f?callbacks.seek_func(f,0,SEEK_CUR) : -1);
Unfortunately, fseek succeeds for a socket on Windows (even

Fixing libvorbisfile to handle largefiles
[I'm not online regularly, so don't include me in any replies.
Looks like the archives are working at present, so I'll catch
up from them when I get a chance. Thanks...]
(Trying out vorbis-dev@ instead of vorbis@ where I sent my
previous messages; if this is the wrong place, correct me)
Greetings.
Some weeks ago, I submitted several hacks which gave me the

Building on BeOS part 3
After fixing a 'bug' in libtool, I've finally got ogg compiling and producing
a shared library. Now I'm trying to build vorbis but I'm falling over
at the final step. While trying to produce libvorbisfile.
The make file is trying to compile with
gcc -nostart vorbisfile.o -L/boot/home/config/lib -logg -Wl,-soname -

ov_open fails on Version 1.0.1
Eddie,
I have been reviewing vorbis list postings, because I have been spinning my wheels for a week, trying to make a simple insertion of ogg vorbis decoding (vorbisfile) in the audio class of my MFC/C++ program. I just read your thread from April 2004.
Question: Do you have anything you could send me, since I assume you succeeded in getting results? And/or could you take a look at what I

Documentation Suggestions
I'm a developer for a game company and I'm almost done adding support for
Vorbis to our game engine. As such, I wanted to simply plug in the read
function, let it decode, and then send the PCM data on to DirectSound just
like I always have. There were several occasions where I spent 4 or 5
hours trying to fix a bug, digging through newsgroups and sound-format
specs, when that info could

Thoughts on vorbisfile
Hi all,
While reading through various bits of libvorbis and vorbisfile, and then
thinking about how to implement other features in the xmms and winamp
plugins, I had some thoughts...
Vorbisfile is very useful, and very easy to use. It is, however, tied to
stdio - which means you can't use it for lots of other stuff where it'd be
useful - like streaming, or (under win32) avoiding stdio

[PATCH] check for default subvolid and act accordingly on install
This fixes the issue I had come across with the default subvolume not being
set/used on btrfs when isntalling via `extlinux --install /boot/syslinux`.

vorbisfile updates, and a couple of questions
The changes to vorbisfile that I suggested earlier have now been committed -
this is mostly a merge of my code with a similar patch from Martin Vogt
(thanks Martin).
The old ov_open() interface remains untouched - and for many people, this is
all you'll need to use, ever. It now calls the new interface with
appropriate arguments.
The new ov_open_callbacks() function adds an extra argument to

Bionic beaver repository issues
Hello,
I appear to have a similar issue as?Willem Ligtenberg (Disco Dingo repository issues,?Thu May 2 19:01:04 CEST 2019), except on a completely fresh installation of Ubuntu?18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver). After updating and upgrading packages and adding the repo "deb https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu bionic-cran35/" and associated key, attempting to install r-base fails due to

Is this a bug in ogg ?
I have a problem i suspect to be a bug in ogg:
Assume i have a simple archive "chou_s_test1_test2.pak", created by simply
concatenating binary files together:
chou_s.jpg (3403 bytes)
test1.ogg (5196 bytes)
test2.ogg (6128 bytes)
If i place the a filepointer passed to ov_open to the beginning of
test1.ogg, this ogg gets opened and decoded correctly. But if i place it to
the beginning

Problems compiling with --with-ogg-prefix=xxx
My ogg library is located in /home/warren/local. So when I configure and
compile the vorbis module on my linux box using
configure --with-ogg-prefix=/home/warren/local
make
I get the following error during the make:
gcc -DPACKAGE=\"libvorbis\" -DVERSION=\"1.0.0\" -DHAVE_ALLOCA_H=1

More BeOS woe
This one may be my fault....
I've put a temporary fix for libvorbis not linking, I
altered
libvorbis_la_LIBADD =
to
libvorbis_la_LIBADD = $(OGG_LIBS)
in the makefile, hence the temporary and continued with the build. I'm now
getting
gcc -DPACKAGE=\"libvorbis\" -DVERSION=\"1.0.0\" -DHAVE_ALLOCA_H=1 -

Compiling with GCC on win32?
Why does the source use `int64_t'. Is this suppose to be built
with GCC? I have Mumit Kahns gcc, version 2.8.1. Do I need a
2.9.5 version to get the `int64_t' type? I have substituted a
typedef of `long long' in os_types.h. This seems to make sense?
The rint() macro also seems to be having some problems. I guess
there are two meanings to __GNUC__ and _WIN32. One is the OS and

added check/define for int64_t
Sparc Solaris lacks an int64_t data type. I added a macro to
detect/correct this problem.

Btw, in my quick tests, Vorbis successfully decodes ogg files on sparc
solaris.
The following should be added to configure.in after the calls to set

dnl this is because AC_CHECK_TYPE breaks on "long long"

OrgMassSpecR peak area issue
Hello!
I am having an issue with the OrgMassSpecR package. I run my HPLC using a
DAD detector. My raw data is exported form chemstation as a csv file. I
then upload the csv into Rstudio no problem. Using the DrawChromatogram
function, I get a nice chromatogram, and my retention time, peak area, and
apex intensity values are given as well.
The problem comes with the peak area value given. The
