Virgin Radio Classic Rock now in Ogg too
Firstly, please excuse the crosspost to both the icecast and vorbis lists,
and the slightly commercial nature of this post.
Virgin Radio Classic Rock, which is a sister station to Virgin Radio, is now
also available in streaming Ogg Vorbis. We also have 'now playing'
information working on both services.

Re: libvorbis 1.1.0 release
Everyone,
I'm pleased to announce the release of libvorbis version 1.1.0. This
is the first major release since 1.0 and offers new encoder tunings
for additional compression efficiency as well as a number of bugs fixes.
Developers will be interested in the new 'CBR' mode support and
encoder_ctl() interface.

New release of the Cortado java player
Earlier this year, Xiph.org took over maintenance of the Cortado java
applet, primarily used as a player for Ogg Vorbis and Ogg Theora files
on systems which don't have native support. Originally developed by
Fluendo SA and more recently the Wikimedia Foundation, it was hoped
and agreed that moving the 'official' hosting for this open source
project under the Xiph.org Foundation's

Tool for cutting Ogg Vorbis files
Anybody know of a tool for cutting/trimming Ogg Vorbis files?
I'm thinking of a tool similar to (the excellent) mp3DirectCut
"http://www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~pesch/#mp3dc" tool, only for
Vorbis.
I've tried musiCutter, but it's to difficult/time-consuming to
use.
BTW, the mp3DirectCut author says this in his FAQ:
Can you add Ogg Vorbis support?
I would,

rc2 press release, a little belated, but with a nice surprise
This press release went out on a limited basis, but no one seemed to notice
the good parts.
Read about the contest, and start looking for bugs :)

iTunes / quick time
Any idea if/when there will be official ogg support for iTunes or Quick Time for Mac ?
The dual G4s have this stupid thing where if we stick the quick time components on the Mac and it screws them up, or the Mac gets screwed later, then it nacks up the warranty or sumthin.
Basic point is we need official quicktime or iTunes support so we can play Vorbis on the Mac!!!
Anyone heard anything on

Java Vorbis Encoder - vorbis-java-1.0.0-beta release
Beta release of a limited* native Java Vorbis encoder is now available
on the Xiph website.
This limited version of the encoder has been ported to Java based on
libogg-1.1.3, libvorbis-1.1.2 and a very infant port of libshout-2.2.2
for streaming.
*The encoder itself is currently limited to 44100 hz, 2 channel input,
and can only encode at Variable Bit Rate.*

Real Time Encode & Java Question
Hello all!
I've been a little out of touch with Vorbis in recent month (not that I
was really in touch to begin with), but was wondering if someone could
update me on a few things I know have gone around here before. Plus,
I'm starting a project that they would be very useful for.
I was wondering if any real time Vorbis encoders have been made yet?
Also, what the
