Samba 3.5.11 shares and downloads with IE9 on Windows 7
Hi @all, Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7 cannot save files on shares from Samba 3.5.11, but Firefox can do this. With IE9 there is only a 0-Byte-file on the share. -- der tom

OGG stream drops after every couple/few tracks
Hi all, First question on this list - I am running into issues with my embedded OGG stream players (so far I've used ffmp3 and just today started trying jlgui), and honestly I'm not sure what's up. I'm hoping someone would be kind enough to help me figure it out. Basically, I have a setup that pulls a number of OGG files from MPD (all the same bitrate/etc AFAIK) In ffmp3, when

The new WebM codec
Hey everyone. If you haven't seen this already, last week was Google I/O the third edition. The event page is : http://code.google.com/events/io/2010/ The youtube channel with the keynotes is : http://www.youtube.com/googledevelopers One of the most interesting things at that conference was the introduction of the WebM codec, which is a combination of On2's VP8 video codec (which is now

We are not fans of that though. Currently support for Opus is arriving in all sorts of Software (the soon to be

Hi. Good to see new spirit of icecast! I have some suggestions: 1. Compatibility to iphone/android. There is a way to make the icecast working as one point solution to iphone/android? a lot of streamers searching for that. 2. I'm running icecast 2.3.2 on my 2008 windows server. I don't know how to explain this but I will try: When you starting to listen to a icecast

Query related to icecast server version 2.3.2
Dear Sir/Madam, I'm a newbie to work at icecast server. My required application is to play songs through different channels(approximately 100) at the icecast server with source client. I gone through the link www.icecast.org , and got some idea related to my requirement. And also i have gone through a video for streaming audio in icecast server and tried with the same. Almost i got it with

Opus vs. Vorbis
Hi Dennis, Thank you very much for this info, it helps a lot! I'm curious about the track changing - I know that this currently is a semi-issue even with my own vorbis streams and some listening clients.. for example, with ffmp3 sometimes the stream will drop between tracks. I'm also curious as to the implementation of "Intro" files (and tracks/live input in general, I guess)

render :update problem with IE 9
Hi, I have a legacy web site based on ruby on rails 3.0.9 which works just fine with Firefox, chrome and IE 8, but I receive an HTTP 406 error every time when I check the web site with Internet Explorer 9. I narrowed down the problem to the respond_to + format.js + render :update trio, but I did not manage to solve the problem until now. I created a small example for reproduction: The action

fallen too far behind, removing
Hi, For some reason I see this in my logs: [2016-08-02 12:43:02] INFO source/send_to_listener Client 169 (127.0.0.1) has fallen too far behind, removing The more interesting is that it is the ffmpeg, that is listening to the source stream being removed. My setup is: Stream generator: DEVA TX, streaming 44,1 khz PCM (pcm16le) stream to icecast2 server Transcoding: VM with ffmpeg reading this

Gapless concatenation of Opus frames
Hi! Short version of my question: How to produce Opus frames which can be safely concatenated and how to embed them into a WebM file? Long version: I'm currently implementing a web-based audio player which streams audio as opus/WebM using the HTML5 media source extensions. Currently, the server decodes a set of input files to a fixed RAW audio format (stereo, 48000 kHz) and encodes the

Gapless concatenation of Opus frames
Hi Jean-Mark, thank you for your answer! Yes, you understood my question correctly. I was just about to compose a reply to my original question, where I described how I solved my problem. As you've already suggested, I've switched to Ogg/Opus, which is better supported, but does not work with the Media Source Extensions. I'll have a look whether disabling prediction will help with

fallen too far behind, removing
Morning all, I set up IceCast several years ago on centos 6. seemed easy, now I am trying to install it on Centos 7. For the life of me, I cant do it, I have read several STEP by steps on how to configure, but I am pounding my head against the wall, I am a Windows IT guy, thus I am looking for a step by step detail way of doing it. All the examples I find, fail at some point or another. Any

Theora and WeBM support in Firefox and Opera
I did some tests: ### Theora support in Firefox 3.7a (missnamed as "Minefield"): Same as since 3.5 (plays, no controls if Javascript off, no thorough retest of buffering issues). http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/theora/2010-January/003369.html http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449358 ### WeBM support in Firefox 3.7a Seems to play (controls bug of course also there) and
