Sound Blaster Live! 24bit how to get it support?
Hi, I used to use the onboard sound card(SIS) and it work well with centos 4 stock and unsupported kernel. I have just got a new Sound Blaster Live! 24bit and installed it on the system. The current kernel does not detect the sound card. Is there anyway i can make this card run on centos? This is a fairly new card, why the stock kernel does not have the driver module compiled from it? Thai

problem with eve-online and color depth (16/24bit)
Hello together! since some time i noticed that if i start eveonline in a explorer desktop window, with for ex. wine explorer /desktop=0,1680x1050 "C:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE\\eve.exe", my problem is now -> i can not switch in the game eveonline client to the 16bit windowmode (only 24bit are available) ! My Linux Gnome Desktop are running in a 1680x1050 24bpp mode. But if i start

followup to flac and 24bit files in winamp 5.33 not working
got a response from nullsoft (very quickly i might add) and thought i'ld pass it on since it has the tidbit about the flac support being totally redone for next release (5.34) i have d/l'ed the new flac library from them but not tried it out yet (under 5.33). from nullsoft: Not sure what's wrong. But there is a new FLAC playback plugin coming for 5.34 - totally rewritten and not

ogg123 playing 24bit flac
Hi! Recently I made some recordings (44.1kH/24bit WAV), and after post-processing (normalization, noide reduction) I saved them as flac (still 44.1kHz/24bit). I noticed that ogg123 can decode these, but it will output 24 bit only. Specifically there's no option to transform the output to 16bit. When trying to pipe the 24bit WAV output of ogg123 into aplay, aplay refused to accept the 24 bit

16bit vs. 24bit
I bought this recently http://www.amazon.com/Tascam-US-100-USB-Audio-Interface/dp/B002QQC1ZI But i have been thinking maybe it would have been better to get a 24bit version http://tascam.com/product/us-600/images/ I guess i am streaming at a lower quality, but if i were recording the 24 bit would be better no? Thoughts? -winn -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

11kbps narrowband on a 24bit DSP
I've never tried Speex on a 24-bit DSP, but I would suggest actually leaving the code (nearly) as-is. The scaling factors actually should not change because I'm using integer multiplications, not fractional multiplications. So what should happen is that the top 8 bits or 24-bit values and the top 16-bit of 48-bit values will be unused (filled with sign bits). There may be a few cases where

11kbps narrowband on a 24bit DSP
Hi, I am using speex 1.2beta2 on a 24bit DSP that has a severe program and data space limitations. I am only interested in the speex decoder for 11kbps narrowband implementation. I am using the following parameters and structures 160, /*frameSize*/ 40, /*subframeSize*/ 10, /*lpcSize*/ 17, /*pitchStart*/ 144, /*pitchEnd*/ /* 11 kbps medium bit-rate

CPU consumption by samba
Hi, I'm having strange performance problems with samba and an application written with VisualFox Pro. This application is entirely installed in a Windows share and it has a hystory of strange phenomenons. Initially it ran fast on an old NT server (but that server has been replaced). It has strange performance problems with Windows 2000 Server: it runs fast with some servers and slow with

Does "sink" stand for anything?
Hello Everyone,   Learning about R and its wonderful array of functions. If it's not obvious, I usually try to find out what a function stands for. I think this helps me remember better.   One function that has me stumped is "sink." Can anyone tell me if this stands for something?   Thanks,   Paul         __________________________________________________ [[alternative HTML

Using Unix/LDAP Log in Credentials for Security = User Share Authentication
All, I'm new to Samba so this may be a very easy fix, but I've not been able to find it anywhere online or in the /Samba-3 By Example/ book. I'm currently testing Samba 3.0.23c with an OpenLDAP v3 backend on CentOS 5. I am able to get OpenLDAP installed and running for authentication and can get Samba installed and configured well enough to request and accept a LDAP user
