limits on liniar model
Can I put limits on the lm() command? I only know that you can choose a
liniar model with or without an intercept, but can I put other limits on
the coefficients (for example- the intercept must be bigger than 1) ?

how to get the percentile of a number in a vector
I'm familiar with the quantile() command, but what if I have a specific
number that I want to know its location in a vector? I know that in known
distributions, (for example the normal distribution), there is pnorm and
qnorm, but how can I do it with unknown vector?
thanks in advance

problems building libvorbis-1.2.0 on Solaris 10 (sparc)
Hello,
I'm running into problems while trying to build libvorbis. My build
platform is Solaris 10 (sparc) (11/06) with GCC 3.4.6.
The build fails with the following error :

What is OggPCM
Hello,
I was looking at the wiki's sites and I came across some to the effect
of OggOCM. Is this already implemented in Ogg. How can I get some more
information on how to access it.

Decoder example question
Hey all...I'm trying to use the decoder_example.c in the examples directory
to decode a .ogg file that was encoded by using the binary encoder
ogglame.exe and encoded via the encoder_example.c. I'm running into a
problem with the decoder though. It plays FINE under the WinAmp plugin but I
when I try and use the decoder_example.c to decode the file it says "End of

vorbis module compilation problem
[I just got on to this mailing list to report this problem. If it has
already been reported, then I'm sorry for duplicating the report. And I
seriously doubt this is not the right topic to talk about on this
mailing list, but if it is, sorry for that too.]
Okay, here's a new one. I have never seen this error before. This is the
latest CVS code I'm trying to compile, on a pretty close

sorting data from dataframe with oter dataframe
Hi, the subject isn't define well the problem, so i'll explain it in detail:
i've got a csv.file with data on number of factors (every column got the
name
of the factor as header and the data below). on another csv file, i've got
the
factors sorted by their type. for example-
c1=read.csv('C:/R/c1.csv', header= TRUE)

decoder_example -- event driven?
I'm trying to adapt decoder_example to to support more of an event driven
model. I'm building an RTSP client/server where the client will have a
function called everytime a new packet comes in. So, I want to queue
up these packets to be played.
My current attack is as follows (note this isn't very robust and I
realized that):
For first and second packet i grab all the header stuff

Icecast 2.0 in OS X Server?
Folks;
I am having a hell of a time trying to get IceCast 2.0 installed on an
Apple XServe running OS X 10.2.3. The problem seems to stem from one
of the libraries required by IceCast, specifically libvorbis.
When running MAKE in an attempt to install libvorbis I get the
following:

/bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link gcc -DDARWIN -fno-common

Outputting Sound from decoder_example
I am running the decoder_example file but instead of ouptutting the PCM to
stdout I would like to output it to the soundcard so that I can hear the
file
playing. I am using Visual C++. Could someone please tell me the quickest
way to do this. I am quite new to Visual C++ so don't assume that I know
about the foundation classes.
Thanks,
Paul

messages_count too large (2578 > 2566) Help!
Hi,
I'm having trouble as of about noon today. I noticed I wasn't getting
any new messages in Thunderbird. I restarted it and still nothing. I
looked at the log, and found nothing from dovecot for a long time (since
perhaps noon today). I restarted dovecot, but still it didn't get me
new mail. I finally removed dovecot.* in my Maildir folder and
restarted dovecot. I'm

Kenneth's Second Commit
I've fixed a heck of a lot of stuff in the time frame of just over ten minutes.
And you all care... right.
I actually ran Vorbize, and discovered some stupid bugs (e.g., segfault???).
Fixed.
Both Vorbize and Ogg123 should now speak fluently in Monty's comment-eese.
I'll be working on getting both to implement all the comment tags; I'm
seriously considering dropping all comment

I don't believe anyone has yet implemented it.

State of Vorbis
Hi folks, some notes about goings on.
After opportunity to think aloud, I have the pieces of the VQ system more
or less in place. I need to finish the codebook generation core (this is not
libvorbis code, but an external utility). I then need to write the encode/
decode/packing code that makes use of the codebook. This future code is
already specced.
