Q: Tool to copy Vorbis comments to MP3 ID tags
Hi,
I'm wondering: If you have audio files like foo1.ogg and foo1.mp3, and the Vorbis
file has nice comments (title, tracknumber, artist, album, date, etc), is there a
tool to copy the information to an MP3 file on a "best effort" strategy?
I know that MP3 TAGs are quite limited regarding lengths.

easiest way to create DomU
Hello community,
I''ve already installed Xen hypervisor over CentOS 6.0. I am wondering where
can I obtain some patched guest OS kernels to get start. It seems that
under PV mode, guest kernel needs to be modified (correct me if I am
wrong). I am a newbie and have no previous experiences on Xen so any
suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,

I searched for libid3-3.8.so.3 with yum:
# yum search \*libid3-3.8\*
but it returns "No Matches found"
Am I not searching correctly, or does this not exist in CentOS 5.7?

Separate kernel on domU's
Hello,
I am still learning about Xen.. I am trying to setup Xen hypervisor
for the first time. I was reading the howto here:
http://www.howtoforge.com/paravirtualization-with-xen-4.0-on-debian-squeeze-amd64
and I stopped here:

the guest, you can also comment out the kernel and initrd lines in

max size for album art?
Is there any size limitation for album art?
I have a user who says adding large artwork (from a scanner) is corrupting
the file metadata. I don't know if this is a flac limitation, a tag lib
issue, or something I'm doing.
Thanks,
Scott

What to do to use libvorbis with FreePascal?
All,
I am a FreePascal programmer. I am making a Pascal-based application now,
and want to use vorbis as its sound files.
What should I do so that I can use libvorbis with FreePascal?
(Actually, I use Lazarus as the Windows development environment)
Thanks.

problem with id3 tags
Hi,
I just had a problem that is not described in the faq and it was quite
hard to find the right fix so I wanted to send it here, hoping it will
be added to the faq.
The error message is the same as in:
http://www.xiph.org/archives/vorbis/200210/0073.html
Warning: Hole in data found at approximate offset 5238000
bytes. Corrupted ogg.
In this case it was caused by id3tags added by grip.

FLAC and ID3
Hello,
I heard from a coworker that there was something that changed recently
with FLAC and ID3. I don't have ANY details on what that means, and was
wondering what has changed. The only thing I see (in the changelog) is
that plugins have removed support for ID3 tags.
I'm curious because I have been using ID3 tags with FLAC (I store extra
data such as album art with my media files,

ID3-style information
I have a CD collection of about 20 discs that I currently archive on my
hard disk in MP3 format.
No, I do not like lossy compression. No, I do not like closed standards.
No, I do not like software patents (Fraunhofer).
In fact, I do not even need compression at this point, as my hard disk
capacity is greater than the sum total of the CDs' WAV-format sizes.
However, I need its ID3

HVM --> PV, success on 1st time, failed on 2nd time
Hello list,
I''m having a perplexing problem.
I''m currently trying to install Gentoo Linux on XenServer 5.6 fp1.
When I''ve compiled the kernel, I shutdown, eject CD, activate PV mode,
and turn on.
It worked, except for the fact that I forgot to change the entries in
/etc/fstab to point to /dev/xvd?. So I shutdown, change back to HVM,
and reboot into Gentoo''s

OK, that's what I thought, but wanted to be sure. I've been updating
some metadata handling routines in our application and heard something
about this and was curious.

Lyrics stored in .ogg files?
Hi,
I've heard somewhere that it is possible to store inside .ogg files text
streams and thus it should be possible to store lyrics for the sond
directly in the file. Is it true? Could anybody point me towards some code
how to do it (Python preferable, but not required)? Is there any
documentation for text streams in .ogg files?
Thanks for any reply,
Mat?j

id3-tags of static files
The protocol of sending of metadata over a stream (which is HTTP) does not
allow for this type of thing. The problem is not necessarily the fact that
the id3 tags are at the end of the files, as id3v2 does not have this
restriction, but rather just the "agreed" upon protocol for handling
metadata for streamed mp3s (and I'm only going to talk about mp3s here,

dropping id3 support
after spending a lot of time integrating X-Fixer's winamp2
plugin code, I am on the verge of removing id3 v1/v2 support
from the plugins completely. it is really hard to get right
in a way that works intuitively for the user, and i18n is
also a nightmare. in id3v2 every field can have a different
encoding.
FLAC tag a.k.a. Vorbis comment support is very good now so

Hello,
I have allocated 4 GB memory for a guest instance on the Xen hypervisor.
But within the instance there is only 2 GB memory available. See the details,
the guest is named pr-idm:

[Flac-users] FLAC 1.0.4 problems
I'm having a number of problems related to building the latest FLAC
release. My build environment: Linux, PPC, gcc 2.95.3
The first has to do with with builing FLAC itself... specifically I
can't get id3lib support to build. Whether or not I specify the
location of the headers and libraries, the config.log turns up this:

BSOD w/ gplpv drivers and Windows 2008 R2 64-bit
Hey,
I''ve been trying to get the gplpv drivers working with Windows 2008 R2
64-bit on both a stock CentOS 5.8 install and CentOS 5.8 w/ Xen 4.1.2
from the gitco repos.
I''m getting a BSOD shortly after boot up and it can be seen at

Has anyone had success with these drivers and Windows 2008 R2 64-bit? If
so, what am I

FLAC support for Android?

(apologies for losing the link before ;-)
That bug report seems to point out the right places.
Here's some more thoughts about making OpenMAX components for free
codecs (also thinking about other codecs like Theora and Speex):

Does ogg can be "multicasted"?
Hi everyone,
My name is Pandu, I'm from INdonesia. I just joined this mailing list
two days ago. I'm doing my final project in my college, my final
project is about streaming ogg video (using theora of course).
I've already search about how to create multicast stream with ogg and
software which can do that, but I found nothing. So, back to my
subject, does ogg can be
