Encoding process
I apologize for bugging you all again, but I've been trying to wrap my head around the encoding process and I'm about to have an aneurysm :P I've gone through oggenc.c, encode.c, and audio.c and I think I have a basic idea of what happens. I got it down in pseudocode as follows: --- 1 get parameters 2 init vorbis_comment -- vorbis_comment_init() 3 init vorbis_info --

Hay! Has anyone come across these errors using valgrind for the oggenc tool or the encoder_example.c: ==13108== Invalid read of size 4 ==13108== at 0x4155734: _vp_offset_and_mix (in /usr/local/lib/libvorbis.so.0.4.1) ==13108==

Buggy metadata insert code ?
Hi, In the ocaml-vorbis binding for libvorbis/libogg, we're having trouble with the function encoder_reset which is intended to finish the current track and start a new one with given metadata. Used in liquidsoap (audio streamer) I first noticed that this function is quite slow, and can lead to (very small) latencies of outputs. But it gets more serious now, since we start to suspect it to

Writting 16-bit PCM data to Ogg.
Hi Developers, I have a 16-bit PCM data buffer, I want to write that to ogg file. Could you help me to understand how to write pcm data to the ogg? Thanks in advance. Memory Leak in vorbis_info_clear()
I'm having trouble tracking down why it leaks, but below is an example program which shows--using valgrind--that vorbis_info_clear() leaks memory if called before vorbis_dsp_clear(), but not if called after vorbis_dsp_clear(). Just compile and run under valgrind, using the -l switch to the example program to trigger a leak. Tested under OS X 10.7 and Ubuntu 12.04. This may be by design, or

metadata switches for ffmpeg2theora
Jan, Here's a hacky patch to add a few commandline options for setting comment header fields in ffmpeg2theora. It's a bit big because I virtualized the global info struct in theorautils.c. In retrospect that probably wasn't necessary, but I think it's cleaner anyway. I didn't test it because I couldn't compile ffmpeg2theora, but modulo bugs it should support

embedding a lot of vorbis comments
Dear list, i want to embed some meta data in an ogg stream, which contains additional commands for the ogg player like setting the volume, panning etc. I.e. for fading out a song i would send several commands like "set volume to 99%", "set volume to 98%", "set volume to 97%" etc etc. I thought using vorbis comments could be a good idea. But they would be spread

ogg_stream_reset() question
Hi Ogg experts! My current work is catenating packets from several ogg files to the one long stream, so I'd like to create stream once, and then reset it just before reading codec headers from every new file. However, after calling ogg_stream_reset_serialno(ogg_stream_state *os, int serialno), bos page is not pushed in stream since it calls ogg_stream_reset(ogg_stream_state *os), which

segfault on oggenc
Hello, I'm not a programmer or know well how to operate gdb. However I've made an attempt to backtrace the problem with 'make debug' and gdb. Please help if you can. I'd appreciate it, I have this problem for a couple of months now. The problem basically is that on debian unstable official packages for the past couple of months(even after debian updates) I get segfaults when I

ogg_stream_packetout() and stream mixing
Just to make sure, if I'm mixing 2 streams at the page level, and using ogg_stream_pagein() and ogg_stream_packetout() to extract them, I need two ogg_stream_states, one for each logical stream, and I need to ensure that each ogg_stream_state only sees pages of it's own type, is that right? - Martin --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage:

A few questions how to use libogg
1.) after initializing a ogg_stream_state may I just keep calling ogg_stream_packetin with valid ogg_packet's until no more ogg_packets needs to be added? Or do I need to call ogg_stream_pageout after every ogg_stream_packetin? Iaw may I delay calling ogg_stream_pageout until there are no more packets to be added? 2.) I assume I have call ogg_stream_pageout until no more pages can be

How to debug a missing symbol with ThinLTO?
Hello, I am building libogg with clang (10.0.1) on macOS and if I pass "-flto=thin" to C and LDFLAGS it will not link correctly claiming missing symbols when linking to the archive (libogg.a). undef: _ogg_stream_init Undefined symbols for architecture x86_64: "_ogg_stream_init", referenced from: _main in lto.o Removing lto=thin fixes the problem. David, Thanks for looking into this. I did a small reproduction on my machine outside of my build system. So here is how to reproduce: Download https://downloads.xiph.org/releases/ogg/libogg-1.3.4.tar.xz Download llvm-10.0.1 macOS binary export PATH=<path to llvm/bin>:$PATH export SDKROOT=/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX.sdk untar

Problem using the ogg-vorbis win32 SDK 1.0 [VC++6.0 XP]
Hi I am using ogg-vorbis win32 SDK 1.0 [ VC++ 6.0 , Windows XP ] I am trying to use the function "vorbis_analysis_headerout() ; " When I called the function in a stand alone small C progam it worked , but when I tried to use the same function as part of some big project it failed saying "Access violation in Vorbis.dll " and the application closed. Any clue ??? Thank you,

How to debug a missing symbol with ThinLTO?
This is usually a problem that is not using llvm-ar. I cannot reproduce this problem with either llvm 10.0 or TOT version. Which linker version are you using? You can also try pass "-Wl,-debug_snapshot" to the command where the error produces and then locate the "*.ld-snapshot" in /tmp directory and attach that as a reproducer. Initializing vorbis using ov_open_callbacks fail with OV_ENOTVORBIS. But why?
Dear members, since two weeks I am stuck, trying to demux a physical ogg stream (theora and vorbis) and play the audio part using vorbisfile. I hope that one of you can give me a hint or point me to additional documentation. I used ogg.h and vorbisfile.h. The way so far: - initializing an ogg_sync_state - inserting data to sync_state using ogg_sync_buffer - when whole page found

mixer input for icecast
hello, i'm looking for a mixer application as source for icecast. the app should be scriptable, e.g. it should take 2 or 3 input channels (files) at various volume levels and downmix it to one source stream for icecast. pretty much the same as a normal mixer does, but i want to control it by a kind of predefined timeline. any idea anybody? thanks, uno
